It is not an award that goes to the best player in high school that has a D1 scholarship offer. But I agree the kid from CA should win.

Just got home from MC East Lit. What a game. MC missed so many free throws. East Lit hit most of theirs. MC went to the line down 2 with no time on the clock, hit the first, The score says the rest. Congrats to East Lit and all the teams heading to the 'boro! Got to hit your freebies this time of year!

Bout to jump in the caddie and take the 1.5 hr drive to see Marshall co v east lit. Y'all be safe tonight and enjoy. These games should be exciting. I will give my breakdown of the game later.

Has to be a huge edge. Just from coaches I have spoken to would rather have venue than opponent of choice. It's funny just had a conversation with a coach about that.

I will take fulton, stone, Livingston, Howard, Marshall, Giles, and BTW. The east Tn schools I am a little uneducated on have only watched Livingston this season. I think the east lit Marshall co game will be very good. Giles can beat sycamore should be a great game as well. Sycamore is as hot as any team in the state. Bolivar v BTW should be good as well. Would have picked BC if it was in that oven of a gym they play their games in. Great H.S. Venue but I think BTW will get em at home.

Just wanted to start by saying that I appreciate the intelligent conversation on this thread. I usually don't post because most the time it is homer nonsense. Nebuntyn you are right about the questionable loses by MC. They have been known to Drop a game they should have won. I also agree that liberty and bolivar would do very well against most of the teams in that district. That being said, you play the games on your schedule and hope you are playing good ball at the end of the year. I absolutely cannot wait for the tourney. Hopefully Mc, liberty, bolivar all make it because that will make for some very good competition. The best team will win the thing that is all that is certain.

The youth bit CPA last night. They will be back next year. Along with Lindsay and Bradshaw, the Allsmiller kid is very good. Marshall Co. Is the real deal. Why is it that when a team has a great player that scores everybody calls them a "one man team"? Liberty has a great player but they are a more complete team? Liberty barely beat mc at bolivar central this year. On a phantom call with like one second on the clock. MC also played a brutal schedule liberty, bolivar, Livingston, tourney of champions in Illinois, Huntsville Lee, not to mention 3 games with spring hill and two with Giles. Have no car in the race but think Mc deserves a little respect. Although they can earn it in the 'boro.

Great games friday and saturday. How do they play out? Big rematch from tssaa AA semis last year. OT on a neutral floor.

Maplewood may be the best Middle Tn team in AA. Spring Hill will have to be on their game and not fall behind early like they did vs. Marshall County. MLK always tries to get a lead early and slow it down untli the fourth period. They like their chances trying to win over the course of 1 period the fourth, as opposed to playing a fast paced up and down game. Marshall County can win, but they need to get off to a fast start and not let MLK dictate the game tempo. MLK will probably play a gimmick D to slow down Johnson. MLK has a stud also, Sanders, I think is his name.

Johnson is amazing and Perriman did a great job driving to the hoop as well as playing shutdown defense. Marshall County plays as good on defense as anyone in AA midstate. I think the coach did an outstanding job limiting the creekwood posts from having a big night scoring and doing so with smaller but very gritty players. MC, despite being smaller didnt lose the rebound battle by more than 5 or 6 which is key for a team playing CW. Nice run CW, there is no shame losing to a very good team. Not sure who won the other semi between Spring Hill and Page but the championship thursday night should be good as usual when MC matches up with SH, and Page beat MC in the district tourney last year. Good luck MC.

Won't see a with rematch with CPA. Those dudes are history after Marshall County beat them in the second round of region. Might see Lipscomb again though. The area Marshall County plays in is no doubt a little down this year, but CPA, Lipscomb, MLK, Giles, Columbia, Page and Spring Hill are decent teams. I think you will be surprised when you see how good MC is playing right now. When their offense is clicking like it has been they are as good as anyone. Like I said in an earlier post it will be very tough for them to win at Bolivar Central but they are good enough to do just that if everything bounces right. I think Maddux has the monkey on his back like it or not until he brings one home at some point. Whether that is fair or not is not for me to decide but scrutiny is something that comes with the territory when you are a high profile coach.

If the threes are falling and Johnson is on his game Marshall County could pull the upset. Before the fourth period against David Lipscomb the Tigers were as hot as anyone in the state. If Bolivar gets a lead MC may be in for a long night on the road at one of the toughest gyms in the state to visit.

This could be a classic matchup. Who is going to win?

I think CPA fans are kidding themselves if they say that the team wasnt a disappointment this year. All expectations were for this team to return to state and win. I am sure the coaches and players had this as their number one goal. If they did not have it as their number one goal then that would truly be disappointing. So, to answer the question did CPA underacheive, I think we all know the answer to that whether we get overly defensive to a simple question or not. There is no shame in playing hard and losing. The thing you have to remember is the bar is set very high for teams like this which makes underacheiving very easy to do. Just ask Coach Maddux whose Goodpasture teams of the mid 90's were great teams but underacheived. Sometimes its not in the cards.

Who is "Harris"?

The officials are getting paid to officiate the game correctly regardless if they are tired or not. As far as Johnson goes, he needs to learn alot but protecting the ball is not something he has a problem doing. The kid is 15 years old and the best player on the court most nights. Its just a shame he fouled out because Lipscomb had no answers for him. As I said earlier magnificent comeback by Lipscomb no matter who Marshall County had playing and no matter how bad the officiating seemed to some fans. Both teams are well coached and play hard. Hopefully we get to see a rematch at some point.

What a game. Marshall County just couldn't beat Lipscomb's pressure once Johnson fouled out. McCullogh had a heck of a game but the shooters for mc just couldn't connect at the end. Props to Lipscomp for a great comeback and for playing this one to the end rather than fouling in the third like cpa. Lipscomb took the game from mc, but it may have been a different story if Johnson hadnt fouled out. Congrats DL pick your heads up MC its not over yet!

Just watching the MC Tigers a few times this season it is not luck or just being hot that led to the three point baskets. Anyone who has seen this team play knows they hit double digit threes in just about all their games. No disrespect to the players at cpa but their coach was outclassed and outprepared by the tigers. I am a neutral party and firmly believe that when the game got to ten points cpa should have played straight up. All the fouling from the third qtr on was BUSHLEAGUE!
