  1. Any guesses on how the District 6AAA tournament will play out?
  2. Sounds like the Jets need to step it up. The two teams have competed well in the past. Welcome to AAA.
  3. At least this coach has game experience. Good luck to him. I hope he can stay a while and help us build our programs in Cumberland County. New blood is a good thing. Welcome Coach Kefauver!
  4. I agree that the Cumberland Co BOE has not stepped up and provided any of our '2nd Tier' teams a chance. No support at all. The fields on both high schools are nice, but that's it. When they decided to split the schools they diluted the sports teams talent pools and both schools have struggled to recover. The majority of the population is retirement age and most don't give a hoot about our sports teams. Being said, CCHS baseball has had some stability by having a head coach stick around and work hard at building his teams with what he has. KUDOS to him. I hope Stone can get it solved, but it will be strange of having both the teams in the same district.
  5. Not sure. The update was posted in the paper. I just copy and pasted. Might be worth a phone call.
  6. There are two pools. Pool one has CCHS, DeKalb County, Gordonsville Rhea County and White County, while pool two has Cookeville, Stone, Knox Central, Lavergne and Carter. Here is the schedule for April 12: Pool 1 Turner 1 5:30 p.m.: CCHS vs. Rhea County 6:45 p.m.: CCHS vs. Gordonsville 8 p.m.: White County vs. Rhea County Turner 2 5:30 p.m.: DeKalb County vs. Gordonsville 6:45 p.m.: Dekalb County vs. White County Pool 2 Turner 6 5:30 p.m.: Cookeville vs. Carter 6:45 p.m.: Cookeville vs. Knox Central Turner 3 5:30 p.m.: Stone vs. Knox Central 6:45 p.m.: Lavergne vs. Carter 8 p.m.: Stone vs. Lavergne
  7. The Hospitality Feast for coaches is very special. Great job done in the past. Everyone needs to get in on this one!
  8. This has always been a good tournament. Facilities are great. Lots of room for warm ups.
  9. It would be nice if TSSAA would require all games have box scores submitted. That would be the only way to keep up with it. It would give some legitimacy to all stats.

This is a wonderful 10 field facility which hosts multiple tournaments and World Series throughout the year. There is ample parking and great field conditions. Last year was a great tournament! 17. Thanks for the thoughts. The players were not the big issue, 7 of the starting 9 were multi-year travel ball players. Lots of time and money spent. Softball is a year round sport anymore as we all know by now. A coaching change was needed, don't want to go into details. We have great facilities, an established Booster program and a feeder system in place. Good crop of returning players and incoming looks promising. We just need a coach with experience and dedication to get to where we want to be.
  18. Well, if you know of one, send them our way.
  19. I guess it is getting harder to find quality coaches anymore. The love of the game, the love of teaching and watching players grow and be confident in themselves should be enough to compensate for the enormous amount of time spent trying to accomplish that. We all wish we could pay the big bucks to get a good one.
  20. I think it would depend on whether you are a pitcher or not.
  21. Cumberland County High School Lady Jets are searching for a new coaching staff for next season. Anybody else in the same predicament?
