  1. Breaking News.... Last years 2 - 2 Uppity Mountain Birds claim Top Status in 4A....hahaha..... Haven't proven nothing in this class, cept they didn't play by the rules...and got caught.
  2. Football team works just as hard as the baseball team that ur Owls can't beat. Nobody is untouchable, but the boys on this team have worked hard, the younger boys want to play too, so they have raised the bar and the result is depth that the Owls don't have. After graduating ur 20 something seniors last year, y'all are right where I told you that you would be. Tell us about where the Owls program is instead of hating on us. Maybe after next week when we pluck ur birds, u will help cheer us on to state.... C' mon don't be a Fowl Owl.
  3. Dude, ur just upset that EH whoops up on ur baseball team every time we play. Football is fix in to do the same thing. As soon as we ' thump them birds on the Mtn,' we are gonna ' thump them Owls' and send them to cry with their baseball buds. Everybody has had fun with the Canes till now.....this years team is one that even u will be bragging on soon.
  4. After the Canes buzz them birds......you may want to change your name to Mountain Toad and crawl under a rock, cause u gonna be ashamed to come back here.
  5. Great practice tonite.... Really working out the 2nd and 3rd string guys. They expect to get a lot of play time, especially after the A team tacks up a big lead early on the birds Friday nite. Will feel good to put that 1st win in the bag. Price-less....
  6. After we put a whooping on the birds from Signal on Friday, I hope Greenville and Giles will give East Ham a little respect. Canes are headed to state, even if we have to make a stop in Greenville first. The storms gonna hurt when it hits though.
  7. Wonder what Phillips favorite number is.... Hope it is 10, 17, or 55....cause he is gonna see a lot of them on Friday nite. Gatewood, Warren and Rodriquez the guys that are gonna be in the backfield hugging him real close all nite. I wonder how many times he's been sacked in a game? EH may help him set a record. While they are keeping him busy, the Canes secondary will be giving the receivers a workout. He will probably just want to hand the ball to somebody else to get run over. Canes are gonna be merciless for 4 quarters. Eagles will have their feathers plucked......and go home bald eagles.
  8. Really impressed with the passing game at the jamboree. QB threw well and receivers held onto the ball and moved it well. Defense needed to tighten up a little, but overall Canes looked good. More confidence than in the past. I expect them to continue to improve as the season goes on.
  9. Should have never happened..... Over confident and not enough depth, especially at key positions. This year is different.
  10. I believe that the Canes have a team that can get a state title this year. No different than Signal doing it in a couple years, except we didn't have a JV year, We got right into varsity ball from the beginning and fought thru it with a young inexperienced team. Now we have finally got a team that has played together since 9th grade and we are lucky to have a talented group of young men on both offense and defense. We will win our district and then take the playoffs one game at a time. I don't think it's unbelievable to think we have a shot at a state title this year.
  11. I have been posting on this forum for 4 years. Always telling folks that the Canes were the up and coming team. They have come a long way. Nobody believed they would get as far as they did last year, and remember, there were only 3 seniors playing on that team. This year is their 1st year to have a real varsity team, ie one that has kids that have been in the program for all 4 years. I appreciate the support for Signal but with all the trash some of the fans talk, somebody from EH has to give it back to them. The Canes have it all this year, for the first time. A good offense, one of the biggest lines around, a QB that has talent and confidence, a good running game and a cast of recievers that can catch. They also have a big aggressive defensive line, big and quick linebackers and DB's that are fast and experienced. Friday night you will see a great ballgame, coaches will have to coach their offense and defensive units. No single player is gonna win this one, it's gonna have to be a team effort. I think there is possibility for turnovers and defense will play as much, if not more, of a part of this game as offense, and probably more than many think. I still think that EH will be the winner of this one. From what I have seen and heard, I just think they have a deeper depth chart and can go all 4 quarters at a pace that will wear the birds down. I give it to 24-14.
  12. East Hamilton, Greenville and Giles.
  13. Mr. Greenjeans, It's a shame someone would post something based on what someone told them. Make statements based on what you see or know, you have a track record of not knowing what your talking about and your opinions are skewed ....from someone who was there, the Canes looked good, they moved the ball at will against these two teams. QB was on target with passes and the run game broke loose with several long 40-50+ yard gains. We ran up the middle, around the corners and basically all all over them. Our defense dominated these teams, we probably have the best D anyone will see this year.
  14. From the way they have performed @ the scrimmages so far, Hughley will give Turnage a good up front battle. I think Jackson will have no problems with the DL cause they will be busy dealing with our OL. Your LB's can wave at him as he blows by them. But then, they will have to be dealing with our passing game too, so they may have an excuse for being distracted.
  15. Chattacane.......you're like a heat seeking missle! Right on point. Canes have worked hard and this year hard work will pay off.
  16. Why, is Signal changing their mascot to Crow.... Sounds good, Signal Mtn Crows, and it goes good with the black uniforms.
  17. The only thing Green holding up the State Championship Trophy this year will be the Hurricanes wearing their Green away jerseys?
  18. East Hamilton Has as many or more talented ball players. They have built their team with players from the community. The 1st two years were building years and they basically played with a JV team. This year will be the 1st year that they can say they have built a Varsity team from the ground up ( freshmen to senior) and you will see the difference. Maybe then they will get the respect and attention they deserve. 12 days till the Eagles and Canes meet and I predict the Canes will blow over the Eagles easily.
  19. Only 12 days left till the Hurricane hits and leaves the Eagles running for cover. Canes have looked great during pre-season scrimmages against some quality ball teams. Big, fast and confident. An offense that can move the ball on the ground and in the air and a defense that will be hard to beat. Canes will be the team to beat this year, right up to the state championship game.
  20. Hurricanes looked good in scrimmages this week with Marshall and Shelbyville. They ran the ball well with a lot of speed and tenacity, their passing game was good and the QB seemed to have confidence and plenty of time to throw the ball. The offense and defensive line are huge and hard to beat. The defensive backfield may be the best in the state. I expect the team to get better with each game, dominate their region and blow thru the playoffs to a state championship. The Hurricanes are gonna bring bad weather to a bunch of teams this year.
  21. Well, they better get ready for some bad weather, cause the Hurricane is coming and a new State Championship Team will be crowned from Ooltewah, Tn. Greenville will be more like Green Acres, y'all can watch re-runs.
  22. I believe there are a lot of talented ball players in our area, I just dont think they get the attention that some get in other programs. For instance, East Hamilton has several D-1 players but because they're a young program and have basically played varsity ball for 2 years with a JV team, thus losing to established programs, nobody pays much attention to the talented players that they have. As they get better, maybe there will be more attention. On every team there is talent, it's just a matter of the coaches and the media exposing those players.
  23. Not only was East Hamilton big, but they had speed. Tailback was big and fast, hit the holes quick and hard and had some good long runs. QB was also big, threw the ball well and seemed to manage the offense well. But the defense, especially the linebackers, were huge, one hit a guy so hard he never came back in the game. With the talented offense, a big 3-4 defense and fast secondary, they will be hard to beat.
  24. Heard that the owls just lost their running back, behavior issues ? What's up with that?
