  1. Thanks ambassador. That's the 1st time I think you've agreed with anything I've said. I feel like I should get a free coacht shirt or hat. Seriously Pickett had some really good years in the early 90's with them mountain boys. Never could beat those good teams that KC had then but always competed and jasper new they were in a fight. One class won 3 out of 4 against S.P. That was when you could consider games with Grundy to be a rivalry. Would be nice to see Grundy compete year in and year out.
  2. you need to add 1990 and 1991 to that list also. Still the pirates have dominated the series. Grundy has had a lot of issues over the years. lets hope the program is on the rise. Grundy has had some good years, but those only came under quality coaches like KC and Pic. Hopefully Tate can push the program in the right direction. Only time will tell.
  3. So six years ago Grundy hired a guy with three years as an assistant. Now Grundy has hired a guy with three years as an assistant plus one year as middle school head coach. Good to see Grundy learns from past mistakes. Hopefully Tate will do a good job, but unfortunately it looks like they have gone again with the least experienced and cheapest option for a head coach. So was this really the best option considering all of those who applied or is the just same ole Grundy politics.
  4. The teams that Grundy has beat this year are a combined 12 and 38. They have not won a game against a team with a winning record in four years and that won't change this week. McMinn Central 52 Grundy Country 19
  5. And that is just Grundys coaches... Won't this make Grundy 2-4?
  6. [quote name="TheAmbassador" post="3211131" timestamp=" With Coach Bryant you have a coach that is dedicated and probably isn't planning on leaving. Here is part of the problem (dedicated). He has never put in the time to make this program better. He hasn't supported his feeder programs. He has had 6 years and still can barely put 30 on the field. Grundy is a large 3A school and can't dress as many as any of the smaller schools in the area???
  7. Ambassador you haven't had to deal with subpar coaches who put out subpar effort for six years. Grundy's QB is the key to this game. If he plays Grundy has a chance. Either way Grundy has no defense and hasn't in a long time. I pick S.P.By 13 and as long as Grundy keeps these coaches continued mediocrity...
  8. Your logic is mystifying. One win over a very down S.P. and all is forgiven. Grundy will never do any better than .500 with the Bryant's running this team. You have said in here that you just have to trust S.P. Coaches, (who by your post you don't appear to be thrilled with) would you still support them after six years of no improvement? That is where Grundy is...
  9. There is no doubt that Signal has a great team, but when was the last time Grundy gave up 70 points? With the mercy rule it should be a lot harder for this to happen.
  10. After the Sequatchie game there were several on here praising the Bryant's great job of coaching. "great job jackets and the bryant boys! where are all the coach bashers now?????" Now following the loss to Silverdale where are all of the Bryant boys supporters? This was a game they should have won according to most on here and I believe they were picked by everyone in the Chattanooga Times. After Sequatchie there was some talk of a possible 7-3 run. Now with the QB getting banged up what will the rest of the season be like? Opie predicts 4-6. And after that everyone will say they just need a little more time. Have the Bryant's ever followed up an emotional win with anything but a loss?
  11. This will be ugly early and often. Maybe Grundy will try to run the ball more in this game in hopes of running the clock a little more than they usually do. Signal 62-12.
  12. I believe, the key point is have these coaches put out the effort required to help has many kids play somewhere at the next level? Where ever they may be. It also appears grundy has followed up the big overtime win against Sequatchie with an equally disappointing loss tonight at Silverdale....
  13. I was not impressed at all by either teams D tonight. Was very impressed by the heart that players from both teams showed tonight. An unexpected win from Grundy. Will this be momentum for Grundy or a sign that sequatchie isn't that good.
  14. Where there not two experienced coaches who applied for that job? If memory serves they were both told they were not needed. Both guys went back to the to the good years working with Pickett. Why should we bring in experience assistants to help out these guys? Sounds like another way to help them do there own jobs. They should have never been hired. The job should have given to one of the guys who had experience and then if they failed the Bryant's would have gained experience and would have been the logical next step. As normal in Grundy skip a step for politics and not for the good of the kids...
  15. You have to get coaches who understand those concepts.
  16. Coacht has the right score 56-20. Another mercy rule of Grundy.
  17. Another night where Grundy had to face the mercy rule. Another night where Grundy stays some what close at half only to give up three scores in 1st 5 minutes of second half. Why is it every time we are close to a quality team they out coach us at half time? We have finished the 5th year with Bryant in charge. What happens now? Does he realize no one has bought into his program and move on? Do the powers that be make a move? So we maintain the status quo, because Grundy can't do any better and this is the best we can give to future players? Where happens next?
  18. I think you guys are getting the two threads confused. After we get mercy ruled again Friday I'm sure we can just focus on the other thread. By the way does anyone know how many times we have been mercy ruled this year and over the past five years?
  19. If the coach we have is good enough why have we made no progress in five years? How long should it take to see if we are going in the right direction? I can understand coaches sticking together but we have seen no improvement. After five years no one is buying in, especially after coaches suspension. If coach can't get everyone to buy in and support the program then he should know it is time to move on. New coaches get a grace period to see what they can do, five year grace period is over. DCtiger and ambassador said there would be a change do both of you still stand by that claim?
  20. 55-6...Grundy misses an extra point in the fourth.
  21. How many of these eight didn't even win half of their district games? I can understand the scheduling issues but if you can't even win half of your district games you should not be in playoffs. Needs to be five classes or give the top eight first round bye.
  22. As I said I could be wrong. If they were 3-2 why did they only play five games? Also is that then three wins in three years? Can't spell or post. Must have hit the button twice.
  23. As I said I could be wrong. If they were 3-2 why did they only play five games? Also is that then three wins in three years?
  24. Doc you've been hitting the medicine cabinet too much. Mercy rule last night and it will happen again next week. You are correct about Grundy's talent, some of those kids are very good. We have no defense and our offense can't score against quality teams. 4-7 year another success for this coaching staff. 26-29 over five years and only four wins against teams with winning records in the same time. Maybe they need another five years of experience and then we can truly judge if this was a good hire...
