  1. Lol, boy he sure ain't afraid. With the quotes few years back about 3a - 6a difference surprised to see WB on there, that's about the same as him scheduling Webb (this year) and Lancaster Christian (couple years ago) considering how much he hates private schools. Least he schedules the ones he knows he can beat, smart on his part!!
  2. That's a good answer and I respect it. I would hope that's what you ALL would want, given the powerhouse you are. Sounds like everyone is on same page over there except the person in charge of scheduling...
  3. Alcoa has been tough on a lot of teams, they're great program. Can't understand why you play a poor schedule with the type program you have. Recently spoke with a couple AHS longtime faithful fans who are disappointed that "coach" chooses to play such a weak schedule. To their claim "he's only about wins and that record, he's selfish". As for 2013 and 2014 its a well known fact that Alcoa and West BOTH dropped Fulton not other way around.. And yes FHS was a full year older in '13 vs. '12, they were MUCH better in 13 and 14 than 12. In '12 they were Soph and Jr all over the field in 13 and 14 they were SR heavy both years just like you were in '12. Alcoa SR's beat FHS Soph & Jr in '12 yes.. Alcoa was the favorite in '11 & '12 much more veteran team in '12 (game was much closer than score though). In 13 and 14 FHS would been clear cut favorite... As a fan surprised you wouldn't have wanted to see the battles the last two seasons, been fun for the communities and kids. I know a few FHS players ribbed a few AHS players (jokingly as buddies) and they all said "man that's on coach, we'd love to play"... Please don't say you enjoyed going to watch the pee wee game in Fulton place on schedule (in 2013) the sister of the poor school. This should have been the year coach should have put Fulton back on schedule b/c they won't be near as good I don't think.
  4. Thanks. You'll be fine, Webb will be WAY down for next couple years and I doubt RB has anything, they've not been too good in a while.
  5. Not sure I've ever seen a more in-correct post on coacht..... Best of luck this season. I'm sure you guys will bounce back. Haven't seen the new schedules for 2015, did you guys add any quality opponents outside MHS ?
  6. RB I think you mean you hope Carter takes it. They very well could win, they are super talented and I'm kind of surprised they've lost as many games as they have. Fulton plays hard and has its fair share of talent too, I'd say be a really good game... Be one worth admission!
  7. I'm pretty sure its known that the DL stud chose the "school" and not the "coach" when he transferred to LHS. Be more than shocked if anything happens on that front.
  8. One would think with a state championship program you would hire one of two things 1) resume hire or 2) promote from within looks like West went totally into left field to get this one. Don't know the guy personally but this certainly isn't a resume hire... Be interesting to see how this one plays out.
  9. The "latest" on him I believe is; its now Fulton he will be attending with his sis. He is a special talent. I'm not sure of the other NW kids...
  10. IMHO I think Coach GQ would do a fabulous job, who cares about experience. Malzahn, Freeze, Chad Morris, Art Briles have all had a small bit of success (wink) making the jump from HS to College. GQ has ability to consistently get the very best out of his players that takes a special talent that very few have (whose currently coaching at any level). He calls unbelievable games, I have NO doubt he's as qualified as anyone on our current staff and anyone coach would bring in. And I'm sure he would do fine in recruiting... The guy can flat coach!
  11. I can't say for sure but I know they lose ALOT. From what I've heard they will be young in a lot of areas. The last two years Fulton has started ALOT of seniors who could play, from my understanding they won't start as many seniors next year. This would have been great matchups in 2013 and 2014... It don't matter what Maryville loses they look the same every year.
  12. I have heard some rumblings (not from great sources though) but to the effect it's about some players finding their way over to KCHS. I don't think it had to do with where the program is talent wise. Just passing on some street talk FWIW.
  13. VERY true statement, would have been interesting to watch. You can thank your head coach for that one. Cheated the fans of a good game from neighboring schools to go counties and counties away to replace them. Makes tons of sense!
  14. VERY true but as a fan of a school who wins at a high level wouldn't ya want to see a game from your own guys like this, I know I would. Or is it fun to watch guaranteed wins each week (D1AA type games) at least every now and then schedule an SEC Game. Got to respect a coach who accepts a challenge. Hard to respect a coach who schedules wins only.
  15. And with your team in a BIG 3A 2nd Round Playoff Showdown I can't believe your skipping out on that to come watch the Falcons and Irish... What has gotten into you ??
  16. APB I don't think I always agree with your post but this line was pretty darn funny. Two thumbs up big fella! You must be the owner of that plumbing business whose truck we see all over town that reads "been laying pipe around town for over 30 years"...........
  17. Always got to throw in a jab haha, good for message boards I guess but to me hats off to those programs having some ***** to schedule top tier teams (unlike other so called powers) and not just schedule area teams who they know they can beat. Congrats to Blackman and Oakland for not being afraid of accepting a huge challenge like this. I give MUCH respect to them...
  18. I'm sure Catholic has some good WR but whoever #21 from FHS is guarding won't be open, tell the Q to look elsewhere. I know they don't have a WR who can get separation from him. Best cover corner in East Tennessee..... Should be an interesting game!!
  19. Of course Alcoa would win, Alcoa could beat the Green Bay Packers on coacht...
  20. I was told 9-10 players on last year team had FCS level offers or better. If I understood correctly some were still on the team this year. I can't name them all but will find out. I can recall Daryl Rollins, Penny Smith, Xavier Hawkins, Akeem Cooperwood (went JUCO but would been D1), Michsel Scates and I believe he said 4 or 5 in this years SR class have offers as well those are name I'm not sure of I do know of J Roth (MTSU commit) and D. Williams #21
  21. That was definitely an impressive win AHS had over KCHS.
  22. Fulton should have played MHS during this past cycle. I don't know for sure about FHS next season my guess they will fall off, NO way they remain as good as these past two seasons. One thing I haven't seen mentioned about their success these last two years is that they have played about 80% seniors (starters) and very solid ones at that and in high school football you can be successful if you play lots of seniors and they are pretty good. A friend told me (whose close to program) that they have had like 9 or 10 players the last two years with FCS level (or better) offers. So although the mighty Blount Co faithful don't think there any good, the colleges seam to think they have good players..... Obviously MHS and AHS has been dominant for so long and FHS has had some good years too, majority of those years the first two mentioned teams have been better but NO question these last two years FHS could play with either.
  23. I'm with ya much respect to BHS for scheduling this game, so many of the so called "powerhouses" would have never took this risk. I hope BHS gets it done but I say HHS by 20 or so... Good luck represent TN well.
  24. I have "heard" the same rumblings about Webb not playing Catholic anymore. The reasons I heard had nothing to do with "running from a good team".
