Grundy beat Bledsoe tonight 14-1. Any other scores of interest? I heard CCS beat Sequatchie County 10-0. If that is the case then District 7AA could be up for grabs as Bledsoe and CCS have already split their season series. Sequatchie swept Notre Dame last week so the standings should be: Grundy 1-0, SC and CCS 2-1, Bledsoe 1-2, and Notre Dame 0-2. Let me know if I am missing any district games.

Marion won this one 9-7. Grundy got the tying run on base but couldn't get them around. Both teams struggled defensively. Marion 4 errors and Grundy 9 errors.

Grundy is 6-3 and headed to Marion tonight. Same boat as Sequatchie with underclassmen hitting the field and stepping up. GC has only 2 seniors on the team and they both start in the outfield. They have started 3 freshman and 3 sophomores in a couple of games. Just glad the weather is cooperating this week. Should get 4 more games in before weeks end.

Grundy won the west pool then lost to Silverdale Academy. Yellow Jackets got home around midnight Friday night and boarded the bus at 8:30 Saturday morning. Good thing we play district games in the afternoon. Several young kids stepped up for GC. With only 2 seniors on the team it is somewhat of a rebuilding year. Congrats boys, keep up the hard work.

Grundy picked up 2 wins tonight. The Yellow Jackets knocked off Huntland 9-3 with a strong performance on the knob by Ladd. Clutch base hits with RISP were big for Grundy. In the late game Grundy sent 2 freshmen to the hill culminating in a 10-4 win over Cannon County. Rhea worked the first two with Brown notching the win going four strong innings allowing 1 earned run. Once again the Jackets moved base runners with timely hits and being smart on the base paths. The Yellow Jackets will face Silverdale on Saturday.

Grundy beat South Pittsburg 9-2 in their opening game of the Pirate Classic. Grundy faces Huntland and Cannon County today. Grundy starts 2 seniors, 2 juniors, 3/4 sophomores, and 1/2 freshman. Their entire pitching staff is underclassmen with 3 juniors, 2 sophomores, and 4 freshmen. They have a new attitude on the mountain. May take a year but the kids are working real hard in the weight room as well. I would have to agree that Seq. Co is the team to beat. 2,3,4,5 can be put in a hat and drawn out this early in the season. What does CCS and ND have coming back?

Was it Austin Layne on the hill? He will be a dandy.

Heard Marion County took one on the chin 6-1 at Moore County. Is there any truth to this? Lets here you Warrior fans.

Question for all the old timers in UC. What ever happened to Rodney Bonds? I faced him back in 1992 in the final four at MTSU. He was hitting 93-94 mph and 3 hit us on the mound as a junior. Went deep for UC for their only hit and only run. Beat Grundy 1-0 single handedly. Heard he went to UT but nothing after that.

Heard Sequatchie picked up a 2-0 win over South Pittsburg. Grundy lost @ Franklin County 5-0. Anything else happening around the district. Grundy and Bledsoe will get 4 games in during the Pirate Classic this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The Sequatchie Valley District is like Rodney Dangerfield, they get no respect. Good luck to the Lady Yellow Jackets from Grundy County. They seem to be getting their 1998 swagger back. Keep working hard girls. As for the rest of the district, CCS can play with anyone when they are on......flip the switch Lady Chargers and let it roll. Sequatchie and Bledsoe are talented you never know people.................I look forward to the scoreboards later tonight, District 7AA will be well represented.

51-7 grundy wins. Grace scores late on a 73 yard TD pass. Destin Nunley has 3 rushing TD's. Colby Ladd returns a kickoff 50 yards for a TD. Jon Nolan returns a fumble 27 yards for a TD. Kevin Nolan and Johnny Cook both get scores and the Yellow Jackets pick up a safety on a punt snap into the end zone for a safety.

Congrats Bledsoe. You guys are for "Reel". Harvey was outstanding and Brown made the runs when they needed it. Grundy was within 2 scores late in the third. It could have been a shoot out but Grundy forgot their bullets!

Sorry to all the Jasper folks. My comment was in relation to expectations. Grundy fans do not have any expectations at this point. 3 wins so far is huge even if they do drive 250 miles to get them. Marion however will be lucky to make the playoffs. In relation to where each program was a year ago, I would say BC and GC are tickled and Marion has to be left scratching their heads. How many district wins does MC have this year? I hope the Warriors in Blue and the Yellow Jackets have a great game.

Bledsoe County finally has a big year and boy they get cocky and arrogant. Jasper stinks it up and Opie is still cocky and arrogant. Have you jumped on board with a winner? Don't blame the new staff for our screwed up schedule, that was Swaffords doing. This game has alot riding on it. The boys in purple and gold will be ready. We are all riding buses to the game and driving Bledsoe's cars home. Grundy may even steal a win while they are there.

Both teams getting loose on the field. Overcast skies and a comfortable 75 degrees. Should be a good battle in the trenches. OS has Tyler Harper being recruited by several schools. At 6-7 300 pounds he will tower over most. Grundy will counter with senior Dillon Graham @ 6-4 270 pounds. Ought to be a dog fight. Is this the night Grundy Co. gets on the board? Will have updates from the blimp. Field looks great. Both teams going through pregame. Field temp 82 degrees and very few clouds. Looks like a white out for the Grungy fans.

Looking forward to a good game. Weather is suppose to be good. The winner should be the front runner for a district championship.
