  1. Not everyone. Austin-East will not load their non-district schedule with 'cupcakes'
  2. I'm here. I just didn't have anything to say... but since you are asking for something, here goes... If West Greene's offense can get some first downs, not have to punt, and minimize Austin-East's offensive possesions... then they will keep it respectable. If Austin-East forces 3 and outs, it will be a long night for West Greene. Either way, Austin-East will win.
  3. I don't have a preference between the "AE" and the wings. I did not like the Roadrunner that Stanton Stevens put on the helmet 8- 10 years ago.
  4. The AE on the helmet came this season with the new head coach.
  5. Using your system, Quad 1 would be as follows: #1 Happy Valley (finished 2nd in District 1) #2 West Greene #3 Chuckey Doak #4 Elizabethton (finished 1st in District 1) #5 Austin-East (finished 2nd in District 3) #6 South Greene #7 Gatlinburg Pittman #8 Sullivan North This still puts a district champion at a #4 seed with a district opponent at #1 seed. ALso, TSSAA had the same sites last year with all of the data.
  6. All of those teams have district games weeks 7 - 10 as do a lot of schools. I would imagine that CAK is going to have a hard time scheduling a week 7 or week 9 game.
  7. No, I think Austin-East should be a #3 seed this year. Austin-East, Elizabethton, and Happy Valley are the three teams in quad 1 with automatic bids. Elizabethton (6-4) is the only district champ. Happy Valley (7-2) has the best record. So, I think it should be... #1 Elizabethton #2 Happy Valley #3 Austin-East Had Austin-East taken care of business and beat Gibbs, then they would be district champs with a record of 7-3... then they would deserve the #1 seed in quad 1.
  8. Not in person, but I saw Cumberland Gap on Rivalry Thursday in week 8. I'm friends with one of the Austin-East coaches, and I occasionally watch film with them. So, I've also seen film of West Greene, South Greene, and Chuckey Doak. Congratulations to West Greene, South Greene, and Chuckey Doak for making the playoffs and playing a better "brand of football," but IMO their "brand of football" is still not at the level of District 1 and 3 teams this year.
  9. 3 of the 4 quads in 3A have a District Champion seeded lower than district opponenets that were defeated in the regular season.
  10. The 3A District 2 teams (West Greene, South Greene, Chuckey-Doak, and Cumberland Gap) rarely make it to the playoffs and have only made it to the second round twice. Cumberland Gap made it to the second round in 2007 before losing to GP. Chuckey Doak made it to the second round in 1992 before losing to Powell. District 2 didn't make it out of the first round last year, and I don't think they will this year either. I can see Districts 1 and 3 dominating District 2 until TSSAA re-aligns the districts again.
  11. GP is seeded higher than Austin-East after losing to them and finishing behind them in the district.
  12. Based on the TSSAA map, Howard and Chattanooga Christian (which are beside each other on the map) are both further west than Bledsoe.
  13. Good point... my assumption in the previous post is that Happy Valley wins. If Chuckey-Doak and Happy Valley lose with Austin-East, Sullivan North, and Elizabethton winning, quad 1 will be as follows... #8 South Greene (6-4) at #1 West Greene (7-3) #5 Sullivan North (7-3) at #4 Gatlinburg-Pittman (7-3) #6 Happy Valley (6-3) at #3 Chuckey-Doak (7-3) #7 Elizabethton (6-4) at #2 Austin-East (7-3)
  14. Bledsoe is east of Howard, but TSSAA draws the lines based on travel. So, in TSSAA's opinion, it would be more beneficial economically (based on travel) for Bledsoe to be in quad 3 and Howard and Tyner to be in quad 2. We won't find out this year, but I'm interested to see who TSSAA would send to quad 1 between CAK and Alcoa if only 7 teams east of them made it into the playoffs
  15. If CD wins and gets the #1 seed, they'll probably play South Greene. If CD does not win, they'll probably get a #4 seed and play GP. Elizabethton will be a #7 seed and will probably play either West Greene (if CD doesn't win) or Happy Valley (if CD wins).
  16. I thought maybe you would realize how ignorant your statement sounded if I re-stated it in a different manner... evidently I was wrong. Let me try a different approach... here are some definitions... • cocky - arrogant; pertly self-assertive; conceited • arrogant - making claims or pretensions to superior importance or rights; overbearingly assuming; insolently proud • conceited - having an excessively favorable opinion of one's abilities, appearance, etc. • confident - having strong belief or full assurance; sure of oneself; having no uncertainty about one's own abilities, correctness, successfulness, etc.; self-confident There is sometimes a thin line between cocky and confident; you have clearly crossed that line. Photoman is right... you are not doing a good job of representing the Greene Devil fan base.
  17. So, relentless bragging about how good you are is only cocky if it's not true?
  18. Take another look at the first post. It is correct. The initial post was wrong, but Bertier changed it about an hour after he posted it. West Greens is listed as #3, and Austin-East is listed as #4.
  19. On average, AE kicks the ball to about the 5 yard line on kickoffs. They are not consistent with PATs, but their kicker's leg is strong enough to kick a 30-40 yard FG in a desparation situation... I've seen this in pregame. They probably don't try FGs in the game because they are not consistent witht he PATs. Their current problem has been protection... they've had 2 or 3 PATs blocked.
  20. Which AE and Gibbs games did you see?
  21. Sorry, but you are incorrect. The 5 that Austin-East has includes Gibbs.. take a look at the schedules. Austin-East could have 6 if PF beats GP, but you have picked PF to lose.
  22. 32 out of 53 teams in 3A make it to the playoffs... there's probably always going to be someone in the playoffs with a losing record. There are too many classifications... too many teams go to the playoffs now.
  23. If West Greene and Austin-East both end up 7-3, West Greene will get the #3 and Austin-East will get the #4 seed based on the second criterion.
