  1. I just think it is odd that Coach Sheppard is getting support from folks who have a huge problem with coaches that run up scores. It seems somewhat hypocritical. BTW, I wish Coach Sheppard nothing but future success. His record speaks for itself.
  2. I guess coaches need to start shaking more hands and extending warm smiles to avoid criticism on this board when running up scores.
  3. from tssaa.org/Classifications/ District: 6 Bachman (McDonald) Brainerd (Chattanooga) Chattanooga Central (Harrison) CSAS (Chattanooga) East Hamilton (Apison) East Ridge (Chattanooga) Hixson Howard (Chattanooga) Red Bank (Chattanooga) Tyner (Chattanooga
  4. I am am sure East Hamilton will do as well as any new school can.
  5. I assume states between Tennessee and California do not play fall soccer?
  6. Rachel Mayes, Savannah Kegg, Katherine Montessi, Becca Menke, and Katherine Rodriguez of Father Ryan (Nashville); Carrisa Sanchez, McKenzie Thomas, Peyton Thomas, and Teni Butler of Baylor; Leah Loven, Cailin Harris and Anna Steele of Pope John Paul II (Hendersonville); Simone Busby and Mary Woodruff Griffin of GPS; Megan Grindstaff and Catey Hunter of Battle Ground Academy (Franklin); Sarah Sermonet and Molley Johnson of Brentwood Academy (Brentwood); Sarah DeLozier and Lila Davis of Ensworth School (Nashville); and Grace Stumb and Madison Longmire of Harpeth Hall (Nashville). http://chattanoogan.com/articles/article_162975.asp
  7. Rotation seems to be the logical answer, though T$$AA never let logic get in the way of a good decision. I am sure the players would enjoy playing in other parts of the state, too. The Mike Rose Complex is top-notch. How are the high school facilities out west? Are there comparable venues to GPS?
  8. So, who exactly is "LittleG" and how little is he? I assume there must be one since there is a "BigG".
  9. Tactically, the two teams seem very similar. ND will definitely step up their already physical play to counteract all that speed that CAK has. ND has speed, too, though, so CAK will also have their hands full. BigG, what will ND have to do to beat the Warriors?
  10. I agree with Big G that this should be the game of the tournament. I am really looking forward to watching it. Greeneville's back line looked strong and I know ND's line is strong. Greeneville will need to figure out how to handle bigger midfielders.
  11. Greeneville was more organized and maintained possession better with the exception of the first 10 minutes. Game plan for Page seemed to be get the ball to #24, but they were not very successful. Page did have opportunities, though, especially when only down a goal. There was one sequence where they must had 5 shots within 3 yards of the goal in about a 15 second span. Not sure how they did not score. Who knows what would have happened in a 1-1 game?
  12. I will be at both games tomorrow and may have to sleep at CCS. I am the serious doghouse right now. I met Reaction tonight and would like to meet more CoachT'ers tomorrow.
  13. Sorry, Coach, but your fact is anything but one. The current coach's predecessors built Notre Dame's soccer program and Coach Jim has continued the tradition with 8 straight appearances in the state tournament. He also has a solid boys' program. Young Catholic kids at St. Jude and OLPH (the two K-8 Catholic schools) know about the tradition and want to continue it. They watch their older brothers and sisters play, and want to be a part of it when they attend, so they train hard, and join good club programs in order to get better. It is called building a program. I can only speak for this freshman class but I am sure the same story is true for our upper classmen, too. We have 10 freshmen that play soccer. 9 came from St. Jude. 8 of the 10 girls are Catholic. So, to say that girls come to ND to play soccer is simply not true. They know at an early age that they are going to ND, and want to be part of something special. You could so the same thing in Dekalb County. You could build your program up so that young girls, who have no choice as to where to attend high school, will want to be part of something special. When they start playing U9 and U10, they could be dreaming of playing for your team and be motivated to train and get better to crack that starting XI once they reach 9th grade. This is what has happened at ND.
  14. 3-0 CAK 29th minute My last post...CAK is as good as advertised
  15. 4-0 -Irish after 4 minutes into the half
  16. ND must have had 25 shots to maybe 1 for Dyersburg.
  17. The public vs. private debate is a very interesting one. A public high school coach told me this year how difficult is to compete having players that have to go to his school contrasted with schools that have players that choose to attend just for the soccer program. I did not debate with him that the same situation applies to public schools ( I know of one player at Soddy-Daisy whose parents were able to get her in the school to play soccer though she is zoned for Hixson), nor did I debate with him that parents choose private in Chattanooga to get a quality education. The soccer programs are a pleasant bonus.
