  1. My son is a 2 year starter on the St B LL All Star team as a 7u and an 8u. He plays ss, 2b, catcher, cf, and he pitches. We are trying to find a travel team for him to play on. I wanted to know if a 9U team is going to be having tryouts or if I could schedule him a tryout if you need a player. Thank you for your time! jcddmoon10@gmail.com or 931-217-8483
  2. Does anyone know where I could find a flier?
  3. You can change the settings on track to release names or the matrix or both. Maybe they will re-release before the end of the day.
  4. I agree. My son's weigh class only had a few registered when the matrix was up and we were also on the fence. This does always seem to hurt the turnout. Hopefully AAU will re-release the matrix.
  5. Due to low turnout we have regretfully had to cancel this weekend's tournament. SORRY
  6. Due to low turnout we have unfortunately had to cancel the tournament. Be on the lookout next year for us to have a pre-season tournament!
  7. I will eloborate at the coaches meeting. Short and sweet of it is, the protest will have to be made before the beginning of the first match the wrestler has in his bracket. I suspect we won't have many, if any protests. This tournament is meant to be a low stress tournament to prepare our kids for SYN (mat time). Anyone can go on trackwrestling and see what the kid weighed at State the week prior. Not doing weigh-ins and doing it on the coaches honor system works in other places we have wrestled and speeds up the tournament. If you have questions give me a call.

  10. First of all, I would like to say thank you to all the volunteers that made Saturday happen. Also to Don and Darrell and the rest of the board, I think you are doing a great job! We are definitely heading in the right direction. The talent level in that arena Saturday was phenomenal. I saw the best, most competitive youth wrestling that I have seen since we became involved with TNAAU 5 years ago. Yes the tournament was not perfect (what tournament ever is), but it was a huge step in the right direction. I had a conversation with a parent Saturday that has only been involved with TNAAU for about 2 years and my comment to him was, "it is hard to believe how far TNAAU has come in the last 5 years". I remember when all the local tournaments in our Region, (with the exception of 2 of them) were round robin, folder tournaments that we stayed at until midnight. We have evolved by now using trackwrestling which puts our kids in the National spotlight and helps them at National level events. I also remember having to split Big Kids and Little Kids State because the venue was not big enough to hold both groups. I can remember the kids only receiving medals and no plaque. Instead of complaining guys bring solutions to the table and continue to drive the train in the right direction, because the future is truly bright! Thanks again to all the TNAAU volunteers, Coaches, Parents, and Wrestlers that are turning TN into a wrestling powerhouse!
  11. Will have fliers at weigh-ins tonight and at the tournament this weekend. Registration is now open on Track!
  12. Keep an eye on "The Creek". Kevin Knier snuck up on some guys at the State tournament this year. Coach Suggs has these guys going in the right direction.
  13. Theses guys will be cotenders from Region 5 Justin Brenot (1st) Team Clarksville at 90 Bryce Wittman (1st) Wave at 95 Thomas Brackett (1st) Wave at 100 Gabriel Elkin (2nd) Copperhead at 100 Michael Elkin (1st) Copperhead at 105 Trevor Brown (1st) Wave at 120 Ahmad Thomas (3rd) Coyote Wrestling 120 That is as far as I go. I am not very familiar with the heavier weights Good Luck to all. Saturday and Sunday should be fun!
  14. The Willis Clan. It comes on GAC.
  15. I like it. It is a start at least. I think you also have to add some weight to returning State Champions and Placers though.
  16. I just think we need to do a better job of scheduling them so there are not so many jammed into one month. I was not a fan of the series originally, but this year it has been great. In fact the best tournaments we wrestled in state this year! I think scheduling needs to be looked at this off-season and try to have them more spread out. If you do that attendance should go up at your local tournaments.
  17. Welcome back Pope! I know Dustin could have benefited by cutting 2 lbs. 2 weeks ago!
  18. The only problem I saw with the reality crew is when they stuck their cameras right in the middle of an argument between the Willis Clan and a judgement call made by a young referee. I don't think our guys deserve to be exposed that way.
  19. My son is 8 and an excellent wrestler, he has attended dual tournaments on a few different teams. He was successful at duals where it was a K-3 format, but when you are talking K-5 or an open format you had better think twice if you think your 6 year old is ready. Mine was not on some occasions. A recent example was at the Liberty Duals. He held the 55 spot for Team Minion in an open format, meaning that all ages were welcome if they made weight. He lost all 4 matches by pin or Maj that day. That hasn't happened to him since he started at 4. Luckily he is full of confidence and it only made him better. My point is that he faced 10U kids and 12U kids that were cutting down from 60 to be on their team, and he wasn't ready at 8 with two State Championships and 3 All-Americas under his belt. I have seen your son at some of the tournaments we have been to and he is a capable wrestler and will be great I am sure of it, but don't be so eager to throw him to the wolves just yet.
