  1. I was at the scrimmage with a friend. Like most of these scrimmages score rarely reflects the actually scrimmage. SC dominated this one and Cougar 97 as you stated they should be tested more next week. They played to 10 play format and SC offense was only stopped by the the fact that they ran out if plays definitely not the Glencliff defense. SC defense looked really good as they held Glencliff scoreless while playing what looked to be everyone on their roster. The colts scored on a fumble recovery when the young kids were in.
  2. Last week was the first time the Bison have played healthy since the Mt. Juliet game. They were hit pretty hard missing at least 2 defensive starters in every game afterwards. Also, let's not forget they are the only team to face Beech with the returning Mr. Football and All time leading rusher in the state of Tennessee (just saying how did Columbia fair against him in the state championship game) I'm not sold that this Defense isn't good definitely not looking forward to playing them. With that said I do believe they have their work cut out for them this week traveling to Memphis.
  3. Guess the D coordinator figured it out. Congrats Station Camp see you in two weeks
  4. Ill guess SC by three scores. I'm just not sold on the fact that Galatin has closed the talent gap yet. I also need to give the SC coaches credit so far as they look to have gotten things turned in the right direction. As a casual observer this ball club looks totally different than last years team but the players are the same. Gallatin on the other hand not so sure about the wave but as I stated there is a talent gap not saying Gallatin doesn't have talent because they always will but they don't have some of the caliber players SC has. I guess I'll see on Friday. Look forward to hearing from you guys thoughts about the matchup or after the game as we host the blue devils

  6. Ok guys thought I would see this post earlier but did not, so ill start it. Who wins this game?
  7. Hendersonville hammered Springfield during the preseason. I know the preseason is not the season and I predicted the Wave to finish at least 2 spots in district behind the commandos especially after seeing Station Camp vs. Beech this past weekend but the Wave should win this one. GHS 31-SHS 14
  8. Station camp vs. Beech. Both teams feature big time D-1 athletes. Station Camp has a receiver name Malone and Beech has a running back name Hurd. We're talking 20-30 offers apiece maybe more. I'm sure you guys have heard about these guys
  9. Green wave 1 you r thinking to highly of the current status of the wave. You sound like a Notre Dame fan re-living the glory days. Last I checked beech won the district last year and gallatin finished considerably behind them so I doubt anyone put " that much" stock over a win over Gallatin as you are suggesting. Last years gallatin record was what it was just admit it. I hope you guys do well this year. Adding Trousdale, Stewart Creek should help you guys improve your record. I don't know about Hollinsworth status, transfer or any of that but I here the same things about coach Williams. As for the " red- headed step child" quote watch what you ask for as every child grows up sometime and this will probably be the second year in a row the wave lose to the bison but we will see when ever the time come plenty of football to be played before that though
  10. Your opinion of the Green Wave is right and I don't care who they have on staff they will still be pretty bad this year. Just don't think they have the anyone on staff that will change things. Roger Perry is one of those coaches capable of changing programs; however, I agree he will not leave MJ and definitely will not coach in same district as his son. Station Camp will not be looking for a new coach anytime soon, come on they destroyed the wave last year and very well could have shut them out on the way to 40+ points so lets not put them in the same sentence with the wave right now. I believe they will be up in the top in the district this year with Malone and the returners they have. Also had no idea about the ESPN thing. Are you sure?
  11. Ditto. This is what caused me to start this thread.
  12. 1) Beech 2) SC 3) Mt. Juliet 4) Wilson Central 5) Hendersonville 6) Lebanon 7) Gallatin 8) Portland
  13. Wasn't able to make the scrimmage "Deadly Catch" but did get a run down from a reliable source. Station camp fell 3-0. The score was 0-0 after about 4 drives as they followed the 10 play scrimmage format. Most of Hillsboro's plays were negative plays; however they did score on and big plays. Secondary could be an issue for Station Camp this year, but they could have been missing players. Up front the Bison looked pretty decent though. Offensively I heard the Bison just did not have the speed to make any explosive plays.
  14. Who will they beat to get these 7-8 wins this year?
  15. Heard they lost 4-1 in a very unimpressive showing. Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to the scrimmage to provide more info
  16. Not really a Portland fan exactly. The user name comes from ole playing days but not for Portland. I think they will be big but going to have to replace Lynch who played big for them
  17. Not going to happen. Even though it does pain me to say so. I agree they could win their non-district games, but I don't see them being very successful this year in district. I do think have some young talent, upcoming freshmen and sophomores, but I heard they were having trouble keeping all those kids from the feeder schools.
  18. What about SC I see them being better than H'ville this year
  19. Come on guys I know we are going to talk about other teams in the district; however this is not a District thread. Wilson Central will be a very good football team this year and I see them riding the momentum they had last year, but as a casual observer of high school football (or just an observer of football in general) I have noticed the area Station Camp is in and I believe there is tremendous growth potential. When I watch them on Friday nights, I must admit I find myself scratching my head at times. I just think that this could be their year. Some of you have posted your thoughts on your expectations for the Bison this year and I would love to hear more. Again, I value all current posts concerning this district just want to hear more about this team.
  20. Since we are looking at freshman football, this years seniors at SC went 8-0 & the juniors went 7-1 losing to MJ in a close one if I remember it right. SC has the one largest if not the largest senior classes it has had since the last couple of years in 3A ball. Can't wait until the Bison take the field this fall. I believe this will be a very good team that will finish in the top 3 in the district then who knows come playoff time
  21. Coach Perry will have MJ ready without a doubt this fall. I do wonder who the bears will have running the ball this year in the wing t which they run very well. I still think SC will come up with an upset victory over one or more of the " top teams" in the districts. I'm thinking those top teams will be Beech,MJ, Wilson Central, and maybe Hendersonville.
  22. I agree, haven't seen much from the Bison in recent years to make most think they will finish any higher than you just mentioned Tandem. I do see them improving from last year though. I think they will finish in the top three . They have a major DI talent and I think he is going to play big this year. I also think they will win some of the close games they lost last year i.e.. H'ville, Mt. Juliet. It will be interesting to see how some of the young players on the team fill in for departed seniors. Anyone know when they start spring practice?
  23. True this district is full of good football teams. Should be very interesting this year as always. Think Station camp returns at least half of their D. I know their DL was young and one of their all region LB returns. Malone also plays defense.
