Most ot the time we have different opinions, but I do agree with you on this.

I don't know. You don't like the football coach. You don't like the present basketball coach or the former. I think we need to quit talking about the bad points of the coaches and talk about the good points of the team, instead of our pick for coaches. I can't imagine seeing kids come on here and see all this negativity on coaches. Words are very powerful and can get into the heads of players and adults. If they don't respect their coaches, they are not going to do very well. I think we should try to stay positive. The season hasn't even started, and people are already giving up on the team. Give them a chance. Try to bring back the Cyclone pride once felt by the team. That's just my opinion.

I must disagree with you. I think Coach Hardin had great discipline, and helped the guys on and off the court. He instilled Cyclone Pride in all his kids. He stressed that it was an honor to be a Cyclone. All that seems to be lost now. This, not only in sports but everything else. I think the entire fighting between parents and the school board has had a negative effect. Unfortunately, they have had to suffer for poor decisions. They do have some talent and awesome kids. Hopefully, the kids can join together and with hard work and focus once again play their best game possible.

I don’t know what is happening at Elizabethton especially with Cyclone pride. Each basketball player had written a favorite saying and his number on a wall in the dressing room for the past ten years. This was a not graffiti wall, but a neat wall that instilled Cyclone pride in the players that were on the basketball team. Some players would contemplate over what saying they were going to put up for an entire year. Many young men who had graduated would come back and look at their place on the wall. Who knows – it might have been featured on ESPN someday with a Jason Witten story or some other fine young man – BUT that will definitely not happen. That wall was painted with new paint – all of the sayings, numbers, along with some Cyclone pride has vanished. Many past players can’t believe they did this. It makes no sense. This wall had been their since Coach Hardin was the coach, but this was not his wall. This was the players’ wall. This was something that instilled pride in these kids and made them think about becoming adults, and what they could say on that wall that would help other kids who will be on a Cyclone team. I think the powers that be are forgetting about what is best for the most important people in any school or on any basketball team – the students.

Let us remember Elizabethton High School, along with all the other city schools, has security blocks that will not let you go into those “bad” sites. This could possibly be a situation that has been blown entirely out of proportion. Also, if there were those who are guilty, let the school care of it. If there have been coaching changes, I don’t believe we should assume it was for some inappropriate action. Coaching changes at schools are made every year. This is not something to speculate about. Words and innuendos can hurt a person’s reputation. Speculation of this type is useless and only spreads a flame of rumors.

Coach SH, some people just do not want to give Betsy the respect they earned and deserve. An argument is what they live for. We know these seniors and coaches have done a wonderful job, and nothing anybody says can take it away. I only wish they would learn to respect our threads, as we do their's. This thread was started to praise the Elizabethton basketball team and their coaches. It was started for the EHS fans to let the basketball team know how much we appreciate their hard work. What son would not be proud of his father for the great year he had? I fail to understand why fans from Unaka (not all - but some) who do not support the Cyclone continually come to the EHS sights just to down the Cyclones. Coach SH and all the Cyclone fans should take up for their team and their coach and should be proud of the team. This thread is NOT for those who do not support the Cyclones. I am so sick of hearing about an Elizabethton/Unaka game. In my opinion Elizabethton playing Unaka would not help the Elizabethton team get any better. To play or not to play a team is NOT mine or your decision, so why continually talk about it. Please get over it and don't bring it on our thread. Can't you just be happy for the Cyclones this year for their historic season and give them a pat on the back? Go Cyclones!

It seems to me the guy has apoligized twice for hurting anyone's feelings. It seems to me you should accept his apology, move on and concentrate on supporting your team in the games ahead. Isn't that what it is all about? GO CYCLONES!

I, too, do not feel that ETown 12 was intentionally putting the Lindholm kid down. He was just voicing his opinion on the MVP. Different opinions are sometimes hard to read and here. You, too, keep posting.

I have read ETown12's posts, and it doesn't sound to me like he was degrading or downing anyone. He was just voicing his opinion on who he thought the best player is. I don't think he is trying to pick on anyone. It doesn't sound like his choice is against anyone personally. I think it is great that these young boys can play on AAU teams and get along with each other so well. I think we can learn a lesson from them.

The Cyclone played great. I think we should allow them to enjoy this win and concentrate on Central Friday night. I want to wish the best to Walter on his surgery. Go Cyclones! We are behind you all the way!
