  1. Its true Oneida has advanced to the sectional 14 of the last 15 years. That is quite an accomplishment. Oneida is without question the torch bearer in East Tennessee for outstanding girls basketball in single A ( OS hs only competed in A basketball three years - 87,88,06) However, Oliver Springs has advanced to the sectionals in its last 3 years in A ( 87, 88, and now 2006). Throw in AA's sectional teams of 82, 84, 86, 02, & 05 and OS has advanced 8 times in 24 years. Great Job Lady Cats in advancing further than the previous 2005 A state tourney teams Coalfield and Oneida who both had 4 starters coming back. For a OS team rebuilding from a team that was ranked much of the year #1 in AA last season, this young team has overacheived and added to the rich lady cat tradition of outstanding basketball.
  2. From KingBrian: Both games tonight should be classics. I look forward to covering the first one (Coalfield/GreenbacK) and sitting back and watching the second one (Oneida/OLiver Springs). Predictions: Coalfield 51 Greenback 45. Oneida 48 OS 44. But I could be wrong about either or both games. Good luck to all four teams. Don't quit your day job! Well, on second thought. Just kidding. Well, maybe not. LOL! Great job BBallMOM on your predictions!
  3. Kayla is more than in the top 5 percent of all freshman players in tennessee. A more accurate assesment would be she is the top 1 to 2 percent (top 1-5 freshman players in state) of all freshman in Tennessee & one of the top freshman players in the country ( top 5 percent). Regarding her height, rememeber Laura Hall was only 5'4-5'5 and she was recruited & a 3 time AA all state selection & 2 time all State AP ( all classifications with 1 first team all state her junior year & 2nd team her senior year). Many wondered if her height would be an issue and its clearly not been a case. as Laura made all 1st team all freshman team & has finally broken out of her scoring sophomore scoringslump. She is on a scoring assault leading the surging UTC Lady Mocs who went undefeated in the Southern Conference & beat Auburn, UAB, and other very good OOC teams and their RPI is in the top 30. look for the Lady Mocs to be a threat to make a run at a 16 appearance . Theyhave the talent to just do that with laura quaterbacking the ultra talented Mocs team with other Tennesee players like katasha brown leading the team in scoring. The point of this is, height is not as important. If Christopher remains 5-7 or 5'8, she will still be heavily recruited if she evolves the way many are forecasting. Christopher led a yong and talented OS team who was rebuilding this year in scoring ( 14.5 ppg), assists (4.0), and steams as OS won a district regular season & tourney championship. She was named the district co-mvp with a senior from Coalfield ( not sure I agree with that). She's the best freshman in East TN IMO & top 2-3 in the state & one of the better freshman in the country considering OS is 22-8 ( playing a very very tough OOC schedule against Tennessee's best teams).
  4. Oliver Springs won its 5th straight district tourney championship ( 4 in 4AA & this year in 4A) & regular season this year. The Lady Cats beat Coalfield for the third time this season. Congrats on another accomplishment for one of Tennessee's best girls hoops program.
  5. Lausanne HS out of West Tennessee ( memphis area). He's averaging 20 ppg & 6 apg.
  6. Its great to see Jonnie West following his dad's footsteps to Morgantown and play for John Belien's West Virginia Mountaineers of the Big East Conference. West's style of play will be a perfect fit for Belien's motion offense of cutting, back door cuts, and 3 point shooting that has guided WVU to a national power again for the tradition rich Mountaineer program. Congratulations to the West family!
  7. The best team won tonight! Congrats to Oliver Springs. With the win, OS is now 12-1 in its last 13 games against Anderson County.
  8. Actually Baller's post was funny. No need to correct grammar especially when intent was comedy ( directed at you) & wasn't diverting from the topic with grammar smack talk ( like you did).
  9. CRYjacket Its kinda comical to see Mr. Excuse at it again. "Poor little Coalfied the little victim high school of 200 students shouldn't be playing enormous enrollments like Oliver Springs that consist of a whopping 460 kids." Its not out of the question that you single handling keep the stock of Kleenex up based on your yelping & continuous Cries of unfair. Well, maybe Coalfield should drop athletics altogether if it doesn't like competing with schools with enrollments of 200 or more. Maybe Coalfield should drop out of TSSAA if it feels it can't compete in Class A. Would that solution provide a muzzle for your whine? Just exactly who should Coalfield compete against? Here is a news flash that might be something new to you. High Schools with enrollments of less than two hundred kids are not Mainstream. They are an anomaly ( that means not normal). Oliver Springs whopping enrollment of 460 is way less than the national average of 800-1000. No one forced Coalfield to have a community high school producing this small enrollment and making them a victim when competing against schools with enrollments of 460 kids. Do you know how silly it is to cry over enrollment issues when the school you are crying over has just 460 kids. So, just who is little ole Coalfield suppose to play in Sports? Do you want to play Oakdale & Sunbright 30 games in ayear and crown yourself the Morgan County Tennessee State Champs with an enrollment under 200? If you do, good luck with that. Maybe you should thank the TSSAA for having 5 classifications instead of 3 ( like many states) where you would play schools with enrollmentsw of 750 kids. Also, what if Coalfield was in Kentucky? Guess what? Coalfield would be in the same district as schools like Louisville Ballard with populations of 2800 kids. Kentucky just has one classification. Or maybe Morgan County should do the intelligent thing and combine all the High Schools of Morgan County Not only would this provide a better education and quality of life for its students, it would give the kids of Morgan County more options, avenues, and opportunities. . Instead of building the new high schools back in the 80's, Morgan County would have been better prepared to have built two high schools or one central one ( Wartburg) with an enrollment of 900-1000 students. Then maybe the kids of Morgan County would be able to compete athletically without being subjected to the daunting task of playing teams with an astounding enrollment of 460 kids. Life isn't always fair. You play the cards you are dealt with & whining when you are a couple cards short makes you seem foolish. Also CRYJacket, if you want to play English Professor in an attempt to disrupt and divert the topic away from the obvious assessment that you are a WHINER who has major issues with Oliver Springs, I suggest you proof read before hitting the "add reply" option at the bottom of the post. You also might want to check into attending a couple writing classes before becoming so trigger happy in correcting grammar of others. You fall way short of possessing the necessary attributes & talent to correct anyone on grammar, sentence structure, or writing ability. Prime Example: CRYJacket posted: 61 is bigger than 200 or have you spent time in English, and not Math? Big school is relevant. A big school to one who attended a school with 185 students, is 461. When you graduate a class that consists of half the population that Oliver Springs commences, it appears they are a big school. Before breaking down this post, I want to touch base on the inaccurate usage of population in the above post. Also, not just the inaccurate usage of commas, but the poor sentence structure & numerous run on sentences. POPULATION The definition of population is the number of inhabitants that cover a certain geographical area. While most can figure out CRY Jacket's intent, its still technically inaccurate and a different word should be used. The proper word that would supplement his usage of population would be enrollment since he was conveying Oliver Springs[/url]'s High school and the number of students & not the population of the city ( even though he made no reference to high school in his post). When discussing schools and its number of students, the word enrollment is used, not population. Since I am feeling charitable, I will also post CRY jacket's intent since its painfully obvious he doesn't possess the abilty to communicate opinions in a clear and concise manner. This is how his post should have read. Oliver Springs's High School enrollment size of 461 students more than doubles Coalfield High School enrollment of 200 students. By Oliver Springs competing & playing in the same TSSAA Single A classification as Coalfield, its an injustice to very small schools in Tennessee such as Coalfield. Schools like the Yellow Jackets lack the student body & resources larger schools possess. Having graduated from Coalfield and being a product of a small school, enrollment size is of major importance to us Yellow Jackets.[/b] Now that I have made his message clearer, why should Coalfield get a cookie or even sympathy for that matter? Over the last 14 years, Oliver Springs's student enrollment has placed the Bobcats at the bottom 10 percent of enrollment in TSSAA's Class AA. Did you see Oliver Springs fans crying over competing with Anderson County in athletics? NO. Why? Because Oliver Springs beat Anderson County more times than the Marvericks beat OS. Also, the same analogy is applicable to Scott County & Kingston who have huge advantage in enrollment size. The reality is Great athletic programs don't care about enrollments. Great programs embrace competing against the best & certainly don't WHINE about enrollment numbers. Also, lay off on the grammar corrections of other posters in an attempt to distract from the reality you are crying about something that has no legitimate argument or sound footing. Additionally, There is always someone bigger and better that comes along to keep people in check. As well, that is the real issue with Oliver Springs, right? A better program has been placed in the district & you have been relegated to 2nd or 3rd place? Class dismissed, for now.
  10. Congratulations to Oliver Springs ! OSHS REMAINS UNDEFEATED in District play! This win essentially gives OS the #1 seed in the District Tourney and all but assures them as District CHAMPS. This is the Lady Bobcats 5th straight District championship. Coalfield and Oneida will have to battle it out for the 2nd seed barring a major collapse and upsets.
  11. Haven't seen that movie, but I have ventured to that dirt track a couple of times since a family member owns it and now leases it out. You would think a sporting event would deliver action, however this expereince only brought comedy. Witnessing the crowd that attends is more entertaining than the cars going in circles at the dirt track that happened to know everyone's business in a thhirty mile radius of Wartburg. This event would make one of the better independant documentaries for mainstream America as a comedy that could make alot of $$$$ if done properly. Also, just as entertaining is to run into assitant coaches from the county just north of Morgan County at the track during one of these visits. Its easy to fugure out one plus one & laughing at code cryptic expressions and their origins of where they derived from in this thread and passed on. Gotta love the SIMPLE life. Asking me if I attend this movie is like asking you if you have the entire collection of the Waltons proudly displayed sitting on top of your television. Wait, in a matter of being clear and concise, you do understand the Waltons was fictional, right? Just had to clear that up. So, since I have participated in the pinnacle of Morgan County life, anytime you want to get to Atlanta & DC ( where I live traveling back and forth with work) you can decide if the release of a movie would register as something of importance. But, since movies ( from video rental stores), dirt tracks, and the release of non-associated press papers who's sports editors don't have communcation degrees 3 times a week is the highs of life, I must confess hoew envious I am of all things Obed River.
  12. Like getting "showered" up just to watch cars go in circles on a dirt track? Is this the pinnacle of entertainment you are alluding to?
  13. I'll start a rainbow poll when you start a HEE HAW poll. Or I could just continue to laugh at the simple grammar, writings, & analysis when I decide to check in from time to time. Regarding the analogy that Coalfield is a UAB & OS is the UT being 3 times larger, my adive is you are going to make analogies, I suggest you do it correctly with accurate information. The student enrollment of University of Alabama-Birmingham is 20,000 students. The enrollment of the University of Tennessee- Knoxville is 26,000. If you are going to make an anaology that attempts to distinguish the difference in enrollment of Oliver Springs which is close to 420 students & Coalfields's 190 students, it closer to a a 1/2 than the 2/3 you are suggesting in enrollment difference. Thus, for every 1 kid Coalfield has, OS has 2.2 kids. = 2.2 kids to 1. That is far from 3 to 1 as you were crying about in the earlier post. So, a more accurate analysis would be comparing University of Tennessee- Knoxville 26k to University of Tennessee- Martin who's student enrollment is 12k. Now, that wer are clear on correct analogies and their usage in attempting to comapre and contrast student enrollments, lets debunk this myth that smaller schools are out of thier league when facing larger schools. Maybe that is the view of some schools with limited success. But true programs that have championship aspirations don't even look at enrollments when making schedules. Great programs embrace playing the best competition & look forward to the challenge. OS has always been in the lower 10 percent of AA basketball ( A, AA, AAA classifications) and 25 percent of AA football ( 5 classifications) in enrollment. However, you would never see OS fans crying about this. In the last 10 years in girls and boys basketball, OS has beaten programs like Farragutt, Knox Central, Knox Karns, Knox Bearden, William Blount, Maryville, Seveir County, Clinton, Campbell County, West, Halls, Jefferson County, Lawerence County, Carter, White County, schools with enrollments of thousands from the priemer teams from Florida & Georgia, and many other programs with double, triple, and 4 times OS's enrollment of just above 400 kids. Im not even naming the Anderson Countys, Austin Easts, Fultons, Kingstons, Scott countys and many other AA programs that has double OS's enrollment. Typically OS schedules teams in ALL SPORTS ( with a lot of success in winning against these teams) and doesn't think of themselves as inferior because of a smaller enrollment. Its one of the reasons why OS receives a lto of respect and has uplifted the athletic program over the last 15 years by playing in high profile tournaments & playing against great teams. This is what has made OS program from being average to below average just 15 years ago into one of the better smaller sports programs in Tennessee. The fear of not scheduling the best teams. OS plays AAA teams in footbal ( usually 3 of them in football) & typically schedules 6-8 games against AAA programs in basketball. Ask Upperman, Jackson County, Clarkrange, & Livingston Academy if they cry about playing the White County's, Cookeville's, Shelbyville's, and other AAA programs with triple their student enrollment. All Those schools ( single A and AA teams) with enrollments of 300 to 600 have been ranked in the USA today's top 25 teams in the country. Somehoew, I think they got to be that way by not crying aboutstudent enrollment, but relishing playing the best teams regardless of enrollment size.
  14. If I were a Coalfield fan, I would have last years's memory of a state appearence permenantly engrained into your memory. Discussing last years results is a healthy way to take off the fact Oliver Springs is in single A & will be the champs out of the distrcit 4A, region 2A, and host a sub state game. The real question is, can Coalfiled beat out Oneida, Greenback, and other Single A teams in the region to qualify for traveling to a good team ( Cloudland or Unaka) in the sub state in hoping for an upset in Upper East Tennesee to advance to the Final 8 In Moboro. Forget the polls, forget last year, the scenerio I listed above is how all Coalfield's season will be played out. Coalfield has to essentially win their district semifinal tourney game against Oneida and claim the 2 seed for the region tourney for them to advance out of the region this year. By doing this, they will play the 3 seed from District 3 ( Rockwood, Harriman, Midway). This game is a probable win. Even if Coalfield loses to Oneida in the battle of 2-3 seeds in the distritct tourney, the Jackets should still breeze past the 2 seed from district 3. However, they will play Oliver Springs which will equate to season over for the Coalfield. The key to both Coalifield's & Oneida's season to get out of the region is to win their district tourney ggame against each other in the distrcit semifinal. The winner will avoid playing Oliver Springs in the regional semifinal, but the loser will be sent home in the regional semifinal by the Lady Cats. However, a very good Greenback teams stands in the way of Onieda & Coalfield in the semifinals of the region tourney. If Onieda & Coalfield wins this regional game, they still meet OS in the Region Championship. A loss is to be expected again & traveling to upper East Tennessee to play a very good Cloudland team on their home floor is in order to qualify for Mboro again. As I said, just because you were there last year, doesn't mean you should ride those accolades into thinking you have a free pass again this year. With the additions of state powers Jackson County & Oliver Springs, and along with power Clarkrange, Single A basketball is a lot tougher this year.
  15. Great Win for the Lady Cats. Looks like the very tough preseason schedule will pay dividends as OSHS seems to be handling all Single A teams with realitive ease. With Out of District games remaining with AAA Jefferson County,AA power York institute, a good AA team in Anderson County, and a great Knox Webb team, the Lady Cats should be fined tuned for run at a State Championship. OS, Clarkrange, and Jackson County have all gone out and played the best teams in Tennessee with their out of district competition. When the State tourney rolls around, look for one of these teams to cut down the net based off playing this type of schedule.
  16. Great job! You should be voting in the AP. however, i think you are now officially over qualified based on your knowledge. quote name='ptguard12' date='Jan 12 2006 - 12:09 AM' post='825896250'] Tops in 1A 1. Gleason (18-2) – The Lady Bulldogs continue to use their extremely fundamental style of play to dominate teams from all classifications out West. The girls from “Tator Town” ran into a little roadblock in the Dyersburg Christmas Tournament in the form of AA Austin-East (a favorite in that classification). However, since then, Gleason has rebounded to defeat every team they have played since then by 20+ points including Lake County by 24 last night. They will resume play this Friday against a much improved South Fulton team on Friday. 2. Jackson County (18-4) – Though they had some extremely close games over the past two weeks, there is no denying who is playing the toughest schedule in 1A. After defeating Red Boiling Springs by 22 last night, it is obvious that a #9 AP ranking is simply laughable. They’ll finish this week out hosting Monterey on Friday, which they will win very easily. 3. Red Boiling Springs (16-2) – These Lady Bulldogs were looking extremely impressive until running into a big blue wall known as Jackson County. RBS got absolutely exploited both inside and outside by the Lady Blue Devils in their 22 point loss to their new district rivals. On Friday, they’ll have a chance to get back on track when they host Clay County in a key district match-up. 4. Clarkrange (15-4) – The Lady Buffaloes struggled a little over Christmas break but considering who they played, you cannot really hold it against them. Ashley Howard has accepted the role as the go-to-player of choice for Coach Rogers thus far this season. He’ll need her and everyone else on the roster to step up if they plan on finishing this week with anything but 2 losses as they travel to AA powerhouse Upperman (19-1) on Friday before hosting the only team to defeat Upperman on Saturday, AAA Cumberland County (18-2). 5. Madison Academic Magnet (16-3) – This team was on a roll as they had won 11 straight since Thanksgiving, before running into Trinity Christian Academy last night. Their success should not be very surprising considering they boast one of the best coaches in 1A in Steve Patterson. They’ll finish out this week playing against a pretty decent Scotts Hill team on Friday and AAA Jackson Central-Merry on Saturday. 6. Oliver Springs (12-4) – After a tough loss to AAA Franklin County in the Mid-South Classic, the young Lady Cats have looked impressive. This team has yet to be really challenged in a pretty tough District 4A. They’ll round up this week with a game against Harriman on Friday, who presented Oliver Springs with a pretty good challenge in their first meeting earlier this year, in which the Lady Cats won by 9. 7. Collinwood (12-3) – To say that the play of the Trojanettes as of late has been surprising is an understatement. The girls in green, who are winners of 10 straight, continue to win ballgames despite having really only 2 main scorers in Abby Andrews and Leslie Daniels (scoring around 60% of the team’s total points). This Friday they’ll get a test when they host a strong Perry County who is looking to return Kristal Edney to the lineup. 8. Summertown (12-3) – The Lady Eagles were taken aback by an 11 point loss to an extremely hot Collinwood team. However, as Summertown usually does, they have rebounded defeating an extremely tough Wayne County team in Waynesboro in overtime. They’ll finish out this week looking to exact revenge against AA Lewis County, who defeated them back in November when they were without starters Emily Franks and Kayla Clark. 9. Union City (13-3) – The Lady Golden Tornadoes have yet to lose to a 1A team other then Gleason. However, the once dominate girls in purple and gold are not quite clicking like they were earlier in the year. This is a good week for them to get things back on track as they put away Halls by 20 last night and should get an easy win against Humboldt on Friday night. 10. Wayne County (14-4) – The Lady Cats have used a balance attack of strong guard play and tough inside play to keep them in contention in some extremely tough ballgames. However, Coach Byrd’s girls have yet to really find a way to win the close ones (overtime losses to both Perry County and Summertown). They’ll have to find a way to finish off close games if they expect to compete for District 12A and Region 6A championship come tournament time. On Friday, they’ll host Zion Academy in a game I suspect they’ll win by around 25+. 11. Trinity Christian Academy (15-3) – Yet, another team who really hasn’t played that tough of an early season schedule. However, defeating a very good Madison Academic Magnet team by 3 is impressive enough for me. Led by Freshman Cricket Glenn, if the Lady Lions can continue to play like they did last night against Madison Academic, then they should be making a sub-state appearance this year. They’ll finish this week with a District 15A game at Jackson Christian. 12. Perry County (11-5) – Fans of the Lady Vikings are counting the days to when last year’s Class A Miss Basketball Kristal Edney will hit the floor 100% healthy. Senior forward Alecia Weatherly has picked up all the slack that she can, now leading the Mid-State in scoring in 1A, with around 21 or 22 ppg. They’ll need all they can get from her and Edney (if she plays) to handle Collinwood on the Trojanettes home floor Friday night in a huge District 12A game. 13. Copper Basin (12-0) – It is hard to really determine just how good this team is. Yes, they are undefeated, but they haven’t played a team this year that is good (the best one they’ve played is Temple who is 5-4). However, winning 12 straight games without losing 1 all season deserves some recognition. They are a very Junior-laden team, as they have 8 11th graders to go with only 2 Seniors I believe. Last night, they defeated a winless David Brainerd Christian by 36. To finish the week, they’ll have Temple again on Thursday night in a district game and Silverdale on Friday. 14. Moore County (11-4) – Since starting their district schedule, Moore County has been on a tear, destroying teams in 11A by an average of 42.8 points! Now, with the return of McKenzie to the lineup, the Raiderettes are even stronger then before. Look for another dominating performance this Friday when they travel to Santa Fe. 15. Oneida (9-5) – The Lady Indians have had some struggles over the holiday season losing to such AAA powerhouses as Powell and Heritage and AA York Institute. They should get a good test from District 4A foe, Coalfield, on Friday night. 16. Westmoreland (13-3) – The Lady Eagles are winners of 8 straight since losing to Macon County by 3 in the 1st round of the Red Boiling Springs tournament (a loss that they have since avenged). Megan Perry leads a very balanced scoring attack with around 13.5 ppg. They’ll have to travel to Friendship Christian on Friday where they have had trouble in the past. 17. Coalfield (13-2) – For a team that returned everyone from last year’s state tournament team, the Lady Yellow Jackets have not quite dominated teams quite like one would expect. They play a pretty weak schedule, which could hurt them when they have to play Oneida on Friday who has played as tough a schedule as anyone in that district. 18. Greenfield (12-3) – The Lady Yellowjackets earned their 12th win of the season last night with a 5 point win over South Fulton, which equals the total number of wins the team had all last year. In terms of girls basketball, things in Greenfield are definitely on the up-and-up, and if they can find a way to finish 2nd in their district, then they have a real shot at a sub-state appearance. 19. Forrest (11-5) – Got absolutely dominated by Red Boiling Springs (who were without Leonard) as the Lady Bulldogs held the Lady Rockets two leading scorers to a combined 5 points. The girls of Chapel Hill are a good team; they just have to prove it against a high quality team. This week they have only one game on the 13th against 11A opponent Middle Tennessee Christian. 20. Cloudland (15-4) – The Lady Highlanders have looked real good over in East Tennessee losing to none of the 1A teams that they have played. However, the real test of their district schedule starts this Friday when they host Hampton (who is not as bad as their record would indicate) and continues to next Tuesday when they travel to Unaka, which is always a great game. ____________________________________________________________________ Since I have not been able to do a Top 10 for the past 2 weeks or so, I decided I would put my entire Top 20. 1 - 10 was very easy for me to do, but 11 - 20 took quite a bit of time and careful consideration. The original Top 10 will resume this coming Sunday. I hope you all enjoy.
  17. Great Post BigDave Jacket, if I am going to be accused of having an obession, I doubt it would have anything to do with any area or person West of Roane & Anderson County. Good try though....
  18. For example, obviously people are voting on records & not taking into account the caliber of a team's schedule. Example Oliver Springs is not ranked in the top 10 and are sporting a 13-4 record. Oliver Springs has played AAA powers Oak Ridge, White County, Franklin County, good AA teams in Anderson County & York Institue, and soundly beaten three very good A programs at their gym in COALFIELD, ONIEDA, & Greenback. Coalfield is ranked #7 in the A poll ( I wonder if a certain biased voter in Wartburg had anything to do with this inflated ranking?.) with a 11-2 record. While Coalfield is good, they are hardly on the level of the Clarkrange #10, Jackson County #9, and unranked Oliver Springs. For instance, Oliver Springs beat up on Coalfield by 20 points in Coalfield. Coalfied beat a bunch of lower tier single A teams with losing records, but is ranked #7 ahead of established Tennessee basketball powers ackson county, Oliver Springs, & Clarkrange? You got to be kidding me? Also, Copper Basin & Red Boling SPrings ranked high because they play cupcakes. This is just one example. OS, Gleason, Clarkrange, & Jackson County are easily the top 4 teams in Single A. the Media who votes in this poll needs an injection of reality as they are suffering from ignorance or being blatantly biased against certain teams who play some of the better teams in Tennesssee to prepare them for March.
  19. Its obvious Wizard has some issues with successful people & tear them down. Its why I stayed in this ridiculous post to allow the the true nature of the beast to be exposed. A) Insell attacked for no reason other than his success. MTSU criticized for being affiliated with Insell C) Western Kentucky being criticized for being in the same conference as MTSU who is coached by Insell. D) I'm criticized for posting factual content on women's basketball to show how ignorant Wizard's comments is and exposing her obvious jealousy/envy of all things Insell. E) Attacking Laura Hall? That is pure comedy and the nail in the coffin and obviously shows you have a huge inferioriy complex with people that have been successful in basketball. There are two kinds of people. Those who respect winners and emulate them or people that stay in the corner and tear down those. I think we know which one Wizard is.
  20. Posted by Wizard: "The only mission you have accomplished is I have realized you talk alot of bull and really dont know what is going on, you cant push my buttons buddy you arent smart enough" Seems like I have pushed your buttons perfectly and I haven't really put energy into the effort. You latest post describing Flynn's and Insell's relationship andyour allegations that is the reason for an inflated ranking regarding MTSU's recruting class is comical on numerous levels. Btw, thanks for describing your vast knowledge. Boy, I am in awe of you now and clearly you are very well informed. .Since you mentioned Mike Flynn's name ( as you accused me of name dropping and I clearly haven't), I will go ahead an do what you have accused me f doing. naturally, I wanted you to post something as you did before I played this card. Now, its comical to see the reasoning by your obvous ignorant & bitter posting regarding your dislike for Insell. I met Mike Flynn in 1995 when Blue Star was just becoming the pinnacle of women's basketball recruting for prospective high school athletes.Jeanine Reynolds was my basketball coach while I played overseas for the Reebok Enforcers ( Edinburgh, Scotland). She is a a very close friend of Flynn's who has known Jeanine and her family for 20 plus years in Philly, NYC, and Jersey basketball circut. She was the first female basketball coach in a semi-pro men's basketball league in Europe. She was an All Atlantic 10 perfomrer for very strong St. Joesphs teams who was coached by Jim Foster ( former Vandy coach now at Ohio State) and was in the top 10-20 all four seasons. Reynolds was actually selected to coach the Scottish University National Men's team in the European games in Manchester, Englandin 1995 She selected me as an assitant coach & through these experiences I had the pelasure of forming a relationship with Mr. Flynn . Since then, I have become an avid fan of womens high school recrutiting on the national scene. Also, a close friend of mine and former Lady Bobcat Claire Mollison who went onto play at Charlotte used Blue Star perfectly & ment Mike Flyn at the same time during this tourney. Claire is generally considered the best female basketball player out Scotland and was ranked 56th best player in the nation by Blue Star and had over 15 offers from D 1 schools. So, I think by still being close with my former coach who now coaches one of the premeir womens programs on the East Coast in Central Jersey & facilitates and oversees many of the Blue Star Camps keeps me in the know of what is actually happening. Again, thanks for the good laugh. There is nothing more entertaining than someone that claims they have been more places & have better accolades when after the evidences in produced hardly stacks up.
  21. Push the right buttons and the true nature and intent are exposed- Mission Accomplished. 1) I mentioned Mike Flynn once maybe three years ago on this message boad. Im sorry you still rememeber that & became defensive about that comment & accuse me of name dropping which clearly I don't. What I do state is names, details, and factual content that probably makes the not so informed defensive like yourself. 2) I personally don't know Coach Insell. However, he was attacked in this thread and was the MTSU program most likely because he is the coach. Obviously, there are some deep seeded issues you and some posters like you have with Coach Insell. Even a blind fool would see he is off to an amazing start beating out 11 of the 12 SEC schools in recruiting with the monster signing class he has for 2006. 3) Western Kentucky was brought up because MTSU's conference was slammed for being minor league. The Sun Belt has produced national champions ( LA Tech and its NUMEROUS Final Fours) & Western Kentucky and its ( 2 Final Fours). IN the NCAA power rating index, the Sun Belt is generally considered in the top 10 of the 33 or so conferences on a yearly basis. While that isn't the SEC, it certainly makes the Sun Belt one of the top 1/3 of conferences. When I mentioned Western Kentucky as being affiliated with the Sun Belt, the Hilltopers were attacked as not a major college womens program which is flat out comical to anyone that actually follows the game. Again, the ignorance of a few posters were exposed ( which goes back towad the obvious ill will directed toward Insell & attacking anything affiliated with his MTSU program). I have layed soilid factual comment & all that is responsed with is biased ( from il will toward Insell) ignorant one line opinions and remakrs. When you consider the source as being ignorant ( look at the posts), its easily to dismiss the opinions and posts without merit). Am I a Sun Belt, MTSU, or WKU fan? Not in the least. However, I like for people to be precise and when I see garabge being posted, I have no reservations defending MTSU, Sun Belt Conference, & Western Kentucky. 4) I don't ive in Oliver Springs. However, it a gret small town full of amazing people. There was a backhanded comment toward OS in and above post, so I decided to push a button. Obviously, if you can dish it out, you need to be able to take the response. 5) I wouldn't bet your savings account ( piggy bank) just yet that your footprints have traveled down paths I haven't seen or of higher quality. Its rather funny to see someone make a comment like this so blindly. I like free money, but since its Christmas I'm feeling chartiable and give you a pass on that comment & we will prented like it wasn't said, ok?
  22. Western Kentucky is ranked 28th in the latest polls released today. Looks like another great season of womens basketball is in store for the Lady Hilltopers from Bowling Green Kentucky.!
  23. Your surrender is accepted.
  24. I'm attempting to hold the comedy of this post in check. I don't know which is more humorous/comical. An Anderson County supporter directing girls basketball smack toward Oliver Springs knowing that AC has won just one game in the last twelve aganst OS or referencing the word odor when ATTEMPTING to convey something other than uninformed baised nonsense. I think referencing the word odor wins. Sounds very Lake Cityish to me. The Facts are: OS has won 11 of the last 12 games against AC. Yet, you are chest thumping like you have won the Super Bowl or won the District Tourney ( something AC might do since OS doesn't play in District 4aa this year) Anyone with half a clue & in the know would look at the series record recently and laugh at someone proclaiming superiority against a team so young in OS. If you are buying stock, you buy OS. If you are selling, you sell AC. Other Facts Rick Insell has a top 10 recruiting class coming in next year at MTSU. Yet, you dismiss this as not building a power & potentially top 20 type program ( ignorant & biased opinion) He has signed thre top 75 polayers in the country. Its obvious you are stillscared for your jealousy of Insell when he coached at Shelbyville and produced National & State Championships along with AAU championships. Sorry his success so terribly impacted you. Western Kentucky has been to two final fours in the last 20 years & 17 NCAA tourneys during that time. yet, you state they aren't a power in womens basketball. The Lady Hilltopers have a 8-1 record this year with victories over National Power LA Tech, Big East & NCAA frequent Louisville, SEC Arkansas, Atlantic 10 Charlotte. Western Kentucky plays Vandy next week. The Lady Hilltopers will win that game & should be a 4-6 seed in this years NCAA tourney when bids come out.
  25. Being congnizant of one's denial & plight is a healthy first step. Good luck with that.
