    Top 10 teams

    What exaclty is a winooooooow?
  2. To Mr. Baseball: I'm happy for Forrest. I hope they go a long way in the post season, which judging by the way you put them out there, they should. By the way, I am a student at an 11A school, and I think you should thank Eagleville for helping you guys get that tie-break with Richland, if you win out. About my "Who Cares" comment, I am simply implying that I get tired of hearing about Forrest this and Chapel Hill that. Everybody knows that Forrest will be a contender in all sports every year, as will most other schools in this district. This is a very evenly matched district, probably the most evenly matched in the mid-state. I have to admit, though, the faithful at Chapel Hill have been a little quieter this year than in the past. I guess I should appreciate that, huh?
  3. Is the mascot of Rockwood the Rocks?
  4. Eagleville High School sends it's condolences to the family. You will be in our prayers.
  5. do you play at sweetwater shscat? i'm from eagleville. we are looking forward to coming to lenoir city for the tournament. i think we play you guys first. good luck to you. see you thursday!
  6. Sorry to hear about it. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and all those concerned.
  7. You have no class! You showed a little class earlier, but you have none. [Edited by etigerville on 4-21-03 12:15P]
  8. Why does this continually revolve back to Eagleville? This type of thing happens all over the state, at every level. "Two-year-old girl hissy fits" even happen in professional sports, just watch sportcenter sometime. By the way, they even happen in Chapel Hill, not that it matters. Kids do things they are not proud of, even adults do things they are not proud of, but should we continually discuss one kid over something this miniscule? I think not. When a major league player loses his temper and hits a water cooler with his bat or his fist nine or ten times, do they dwell on it for three or four episodes of sportscenter? No. They mention it, maybe make fun of him, and then it is never discussed again. All those concerned have said their peace, let it go.
  9. We have all seen bad attitudes and sore losers in this and every other district in the state. Bryce's actions were inappropriate, and were dealt with by the coaching staff at Eagleville. End of story. Why do people think they need to blow this particular incident so out of proportion when these things happen every day. This is one isolated incident in a "sea" of tempers and attitudes. Let's not forget that we are dealing with high school students. Even the best kids have episodes from time to time. All good players have bad days. I hope there are no more posts concerning this. [Edited by etigerville on 4-21-03 9:41A]
  10. Golfweek Magazine listed Phillip Pettit 14th among junior golfers nationally. Golfweek bases their ranks on national tournaments and the results of them. This includes AJGA tournaments, and other national tournaments. They also consider the state junior championships, which Pettit currently holds for the Tennessee Golf Association. 11. Will Vaughn, Josh Anderson, both products of Eagleville High School.
  12. Just out of curiosity, do the "powers that be" at Oakland High School realize that they could have a state contending golf team year in and year out if they would just hire a coach that could coach? They continually put "bus drivers" in positions as coaches of the "minor" sports at all the major high schools. The schools that win state championships have GOLF COACHES, not bus drivers. Oakland was by far the strongest team in the state last year, but go ask Coach Hill about coaching a great team to a state championship. This is what happens when a "bus driver" coaches a sport he/she knows nothing about...the team doesn't know what it takes to win. I'm sure Coach Hill is a good coach for something, and I'm sure Coach Hill didn't lose any sleep over his team losing the state championship, but I know his players did. The players of the minor sports deserve to have a coach that can help them as much as the players on the football or basketball or baseball teams. I just wonder if Coach Johnson knows that Pettit is ranked 14th nationally as a junior golfer. I wonder if he has a plan to help Phillip get better, get ready for college golf, and help him get recruited. I know a coach shouldn't show favoritism, but Pettitt is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as a coach. Good luck Coach Johnson. I hope you help Phillip get what he deserves and I hope you can help the future players at Oakland achieve the things they are capable of achieving as junior players. 13. Matt Vaughn, Eagleville, a real up-and-comer! [Edited by etigerville on 4-9-03 8:19A]
  14. Who do you think you are? I guess you're just mad because the "chipmunk" has probably struck you out about a dozen times this year zimbo8! What kind of name is zimbo anyway? [Edited by etigerville on 4-4-03 1:35P] [Edited by etigerville on 4-4-03 1:36P]
  15. I'll give you a name, Jacob Smith. I assure you that the stat keepers at Eagleville High School are honest. What good does it do anybody to be dishonest? coach's son or not? Jacob is batting .597 after 17 games. He has 33 hits including 9 doubles and 2 home runs, not to mention Jacob has hit successfully in all 17 games this season. Although Eagleville is a single A program, we still face good pitching, and in my opinion, Jacob is the best hitter in the mid-state.
  16. I know you are pitching tonight because I have a source. I'm coming from somewhere in Rutherford County, but it's a long way from Eagleville, as is everywhere. Now, as for you knowing who I am, I think you might be obsessing a little about it. You know me. Go with your gut. You're probably right. Go with your gut tonight, too. You're probably right on the mound also. Good luck! Go Eagles!
  17. I was at the game and I did see that Eagleville lost 6-1. I was a little disappointed in the play of the outfield, but I thought that overall the Eagles showed up to play. Eagleville needs a little confidence booster to get them over the top. I think a win tonight over Cornersville could help. Good luck tonight Bud. You'll be great! Hopefully I'll make it to the game tonight, but it's a long trip from where I'm coming from tonight, so I don't know. Good luck to the Eagles! Bring one home for EHS! Remember, keep TEAM #1 and everything will fall into place. [Edited by gripitandripit on 4-1-03 9:52A]
  18. Bud, you know me, but I'll never tell. That's the neat thing about CoachT. Good luck this afternoon. I'll see you there, and most likely speak to you at some point. By the way, I'll never tell who goldenglove is either, but you can take what he/she is saying in a positive way also. Some of what he/she says is true, even though it's not the best thing to think about sometimes. Work hard in practice and doubly hard in games, respect your coaches and your fellow players, support your teammates, keep TEAM #1, and take pride in your school and yourselves! Do these things and we'll be reading about your success in Memphis! Good luck!
  19. I agree that Eagleville is good. Maybe even great at times. They have the potential to be really successful this season, but sometimes they don't show up. Bud is strong as well as Jacob, but it takes more than two, and I think that some of the rest of the team is finally showing signs of life. Bryce needs a confidence booster at the plate to get him going, and some of the other players need consistency to get them going. I hope that Eagleville will get it all together before the post season and carry the momentum into the tournaments. I believe they will. By the way, I know who GoldenGlove is, but I'm not telling.
  20. Toups at Eagleville High School is a great catcher, the best in Region 6A. He only has one base stolen against him all season.
  21. I agree. I have know Phillip for several years now. I don't follow junior golf as whole as much as I used to when I WAS a junior golfer in Tennessee, but I do keep ut with Pettit. I certainly wish him the best. So, duckbetterbandit, do you play? do you coach? Just curious. I still play in alot of state sanctioned amateur events, and I coached a couple of years ago at Central Middle School in Murfreesboro, TN. That's where I met Phillip. He won a state title, as did our team (mostly thanks to Phillip). Good luck to Phillip and to you, duckbutterbandit. I've enjoyed our limited banter on coacht.
