  1. I honestly hope DC isn't looking past Riptown to the possibly epic game against Dyersburg. Ripley can very easily steal one away from DC. It feels good knowing that DC might not have to go to Orange Mound or Frasier for a first round playoff game... I might just have to take Fri/Sat off work to come 'home' and catch DC/DHS.
  2. Nice to see them earning some banners for the still 'new' gym... Speaking of DC and runs at State... Anyone hear what Brian Fisk is going to do now?? Lipscomb's season is done, and he just finished a GREAT collegiate career.. curious to see what his plans are!!
  3. poses the question, what happened....
  4. WOW... am so upset I had to miss this.. but this DCHS alum will be in the boro!!
  5. I'm curious about how the game is going to get called.. I think the officiating could play a large impact into the game.
  6. If the DC Crowd can come close to creating the atmosphere that was there vs Ridgeway in 01... then it should be rockin' (although it's at the semi-new DCHS now)
  7. If Dyer County had known that BTW got knocked off, they'd just thrown the ball out of bounds instead of coming back with :14 left.. HAHA.
  8. Seeing DC's success this year makes me wish i still had my apartment in Murfreesboro.. walking distance to the Murphy center!!! I'm looking foward to seeing them there though.. just worried that BTW or Liberty is just going to be too much..
  9. Fisk got a call from Tubby Smith after scoring 18 on Kentucky. Fisk turned it down, said he's having fun at Lipscomb! wow. Crittendon... haven't heard much.. but Fisk was the real ballplayer of that group.
  10. If the announcers can call the game without getting excited for their home team hitting a basket, or yelling at the ref because of a bad call.. i listen. personally, being a dyer county alumni, i have to say the staff from WTRO/WASL 1450 AM do a great job at keeping their composure during the game. I'm sure EVERYONE remembers the past few years, as the girls went 33-1 ... as the boys team went to state back to back times... i admit, the guys got excited on the air and for good reason!!! but to my original point, for a loudmouth redneck to get on the air and try to call a game, is a shame... because they get wrapped up in cheering for their kids or their friend's kids instead of relaying the game to listeners. Just have class about it... do your job... celebrate off the air!!
  11. Even though I'm a DC alumni, Covington seems to bring it strong year after year. I don't see why they can't walk straight into state playoffs again.
  12. I'll be upset if the tourney leaves MTSU. I've learned the drive to the Glass House like the back of my hand. I can't imagine anywhere else being able to hold the tourney like the 'Boro does. And don't forget about the new highway that'll go from Dickson to the Boro, and I think back up to Cookeville? maybe? That shows that even the TDOT knows that the tourney should stay in Murphy's Center! If something is NOT broken, DON'T attempt to fix it. [Edited by codeyh on 3-15-03 3:51P]
  13. Westview Lost 62-68. But from what dad said, he hasn't seen a team get cheated as bad as Westview did tonight in a long time, (excluding Halls at the Boro last year). Westview was up by as much as 9, but the refs made horrible calls costing Westview the game. And what's up Beave? [Edited by codeyh on 3-4-03 10:09P]
  14. Hey, that's awesome. Congrats to D-burg!
  15. Dad just came in and asked me to find scores... Anyone know?? That game should have been a BATTLE! I honestly think the winner of this game will bring a gold ball to shelby county again. [Edited by codeyh on 3-5-03 1:07P]
  16. You mean 14AA has district in Brighton? Man, that's a small gym!! Anyway, I'm guessing the 13AA's are in good ol' Gibson County again this year? I have to admit, I love going to GC to watch the tournament... they have a nice setup!
  17. Are they still playing the game, even with school being out today in Dyer Co. ??
  18. Only bad thing about a home winning streak is: Tournaments are not played at home!
  19. Hey Beave, tell ya what. Dad came in and asked me the other day about becoming a Plus member (he mainly uses the site, reading the post and the occasional 'trash talk' his loud-mouth son puts up) ha! But anywho, I think "we'll" be joining soon.
  20. Beave, on behalf of EVERY person that reads these boards: Shut Up. It seems that you cannot let someone make a positive remark about any school, without picking it apart, attempting to make that person look stupid, and glorify your own (lack of) education. This board is about Boys Basketball, and the majority of the time, Dyer County. Boys Basketball is the topic at hand; and I think you should keep it there. I'm sure CoachT and Gomab appreciate you plugging the Plus Membership, but degrading other people just trying to keep up with local sports is NOT the way to act. Now, go to your corner, sit in timeout for about two weeks, and only then, try to come back and post in these forums. I'm sick of trying to read about Brian Fisk, Andre Allen, and the kid from Giles Co. without you being a jerk to everyone that posts on these forums. That said, (and getting back on topic), I still say that Brian Fisk has the talent that Mr. Basketball requires. And even though Mr. B is an individual effort, it takes a truly good team to allow a player to excel at the level that Brian has. Great job Choctaws.. let's make it trip #3 to the 'Boro!
  21. In my opinion, I would LOVE to see Brian bring home the honor of 'Mr. Basketball' . I know there are a lot of great players in this state, and I am not going to downplay anyone, but I personally know Brian, and he gives 110% in every single thing he does. I know he's worth consideration. and correct me if I'm wrong, Trey CAN'T win it, because he's at Ole Miss right now.....
  22. Yeah, it would be nice to see the girls go as well as the boys from DC..
  23. The game's over, no sense in bickering about it. Players had enough maturity to shake hands after the game, surely the fans can be half as honorable as they were.
