I must admit Gordonsville was upset by Watertown yesterday. I still say Friendship will not dominate Gordonsville in the future. It should be an interesting tournament.

Hey doorbell, I believe FCS domiance in district 8A is over. Gordonsville only has two seniors and is loaded with talent at the sophmore level. Courtney pitched a great game and got some help from her teammates. The blind hog is seeing FCS in the rear view mirror.

Gordonsville won over FCS 1-0 yesterday. When was the last time FCS lost a district game?

I think Gordonsville wins this game and eventually the district.

I know it will be easy once the games starts, but what are the uniform numbers of Teague and Allen?

I think the passing game will be the deciding factor. G'ville must be able to defend the pass. On offense, G'ville will have to throw it to keep FC honest. On a side note, Did anyone see a Jr. High Football team bigger than Waterotwn this year?

Did anyone see the incident between Coach Maynord and Smith Co. player # 27? Smith Co. player was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct. When he came to the sidelines his face mask was jerked and twisted by coach Maynord. Then the player takes his helmet off and walks away. A few seconds later coach Maynord grabs the kids face around the mouth area and chews him out again. I am all for discipline and even grabbing a hold of a kids face mask but this was over the top. No kid deserved that in front of 3 thousand people. The kid will have to live with that memory for ever. Coach Maynord lost his cool and if that would been my kid I would have lost mine.

Gordonsville always had around 40 players on the roster just like this year. The problem is the 40 players were equally distributed between upperclassmen and lower classmen. This year we have 10 upperclassmen and 30 lowerclassmen. I don't know how many of the 10 upperclassmen are going to start. Gordonsville will be better late in the season when the main region games begin. I suspect Gordonsville will have to battle Monterey and Watertown for the last two playoff spots behind FCS and TC.

Boyd was the best team on the field. Upperman was a little bit better than usual.

I think it is an overall attitude. For example, a kid comes home from school (Smith Co, Trousdale, Gordonsville) and says Dad I am quitting basketball. Dad says, OK get your home work Same kid goes home and says Dad I am quitting football, Dad says WHAT!! call your your mother we have a crisis. The same would be reverse in Pickett co, Red Boiling Springs, Upperman etc...... were basketball is king. There is lot of emphasis put on football in these communties.

Both teams will come in well prepared. Both teams offensive and defensive lines will hold up well. Here is were the separation comes in: Which team will turn the ball over? Which coach will make the correct adjustments to what the other team is doing?

I was surprised that Cheatham County's crowd was so small; However, the football team was a class act.
