  1. Shelbyville combined this year is 43-10...Greeneville has the better record over the past 2 years. G-Ville combiled over past 2 years 110-20, Shelbyville 105-21. Of course Greeneville plays an easier conference schedule, which explains the difference.
  2. Definitely Nicole on first team..."2nd in IMAC with 14.3 PPG, Leads IMAC in Rebounds with 188, 3rd in IMAC with 55 Assists, 2nd in IMAC with 54 Steals, 47.6% from the field." As good as her season has been, there's no way Carter has put up those kind of numbers. I would probably go with McIntyre on second team instead of Lamons though. Collins has had great success off the bench this season and deserves an honorable mention.
  3. Science Hill is not unbeatable, but those Devils had better be on and 100% at regionals or the girls might be making the substate alone. DB laid it on Science Hill last night...that makes twice. DB could be the regional champs this year.

  5. Looks like quite a few schools have great programs.
  6. Surely someone's seen it already...usually comes our between 4 and 5.
  7. yes but could you not just say "high school bball at its finest"...boys are just as capable of poor shooting.
  8. Would you please explain the exact meaning of this before I start..."It was high school girls basketball at its "finest"."
  9. The problem with your assessment of Crumbley Vs Galyon is they had only faced each other 1 season...not like Spurrier/ Fulmer who actually had a history. Perhaps Galyon found her first year flaw and exploited it last year...but to say he "has her number...that was a stretch. But alas, you have seen the error of your ways and all is right in the IMAC.
  10. Crumbley over Galyon 44-14. I think I will take the high road on this one Mr Media.
  11. Oh so you are just doing what MEDIA always does. Last year, West was just a bit more talented and Crumbley was a bit less experienced....LAST YEAR...been over for a year now Mr Media...DZ did you know the media was supposed to be unfair to successful women coaches...Jeez PT might be a good idea to put that shovel away before you dig a hole so deep you can't get out.
  12. I agree, those girls could not hit anything. The best coaching decisions made by Galyon were the keep-away strategy(questionable considering how poorly Greeneville was shooting) and the possession fouls at the end of the game (no-brainer)...however, the decision to play an inexperienced player at the end of the game ultimately cost West. A freshman with little playing time misjudged the clock and cost them the game. C'mon PT, unless you were at that game, you should not make such an inflamatory statement. Crumbley's girls got the win...obviously they had enough of an edge and believe me it wasn't shooting percentage. I don't believe I would call a 31-29 game an "offensive shootout". Seriously, if West had shot more and passed less, they probably could have won this one. Greeneville could not hit their backsides with either of their hands. You have been dogging her for 2 years now, surely its time to cut Crumbley some slack.
  13. He has a 4.6 GPA? And only 19 on ACT? I don't understand having a 4.6 when 4.0 is perfect. And 19 is the minimum ACT accepted by an awful lot of schools. Mo is great but let's not get carried away.
  14. Don't get me wrong,Diver. I don't personally see them as wrong...but there are those that do. and I think it is wrong for us to criticize them for it. We are protected in this country against discrimination because of race, creed, or color...constitutionally. If the human rights commission is of the opinion that the use of these images and symbols (not necessarily names) is discriminatory or in any way infringes on these peoples human rights, there will be action taken. If even 1 person proves by a preponderance of evidence in a court of law that they have been harmed, schools nationwide will be scrambling to change. They won't wait for appeal. I can't say I agree with your comparison of the subjugation of our aboriginal population to the crusades...kinda like comparing apples to cucumbers. But is does allow you to pull a "GW" and attempt to insert the fear of Islamic Fundamentalism into the debate I am afraid I don't understand the outrage here on the part of most of these posters. Our rights to the mascot of our choosing aren't constitutionally protected.
  15. I think there is a big difference between respecting the culture of our indigenous people and embracing the culture of immigrants. People who immigrate to this country both legally and illegaly choose to do so and in making that choice should choose to embrace our culture. Applying this pseudo-culteral horse-hockey to this issue seems a little over-the top. Yes I believe we have taken this multi-cultural diversity thing a bit too far but these natives are just as American as any of us who are blessed to be born in this great nation and have every right to demand that the constitution protect their cultural institutions. You spew your Western-culture drivel like the Cherokee came over with a boat load of Cuband or crawled over the fence from Mexico. Every one of us lives on land that used to belong to them. Yet we seem to want to treat them like foreigners.
  16. If you had said it that way instead of making the firewater crack the comment would not have smacked of racism. Physically, native americans are more susceptable to the effects of alcohol than other ethnicities. Of course even your lucid comment is tainted the same stupidity and bigotry...like your "ashamed of themselves" comment. If natives were ahamed of themselves they really wouldn't care if their images and symbols were bastardized for the sake of football...they might even try to make a buck off them.
  17. I have not declared a position on this subject because I don't really think it matters. What we think isn't going to change anything anyway. With this much focus on the issue, either the state board of education or the TSSAA will cave on this one. Too much publicity. If the human rights commission opines in favor of the natives, you may see local school systems attempt change...thats when the fur will fly...and the law suits will be filed and the issue forced. I think the kids will suffer because of the adverse publicity. We may find, if cooler heads prevail, that a compromise can preserve everyones dignity. Right now I think we are making a big deal over nothing...after all the human rights commission has just said they will listen to what they have to say...maybe that's a good idea for all of us.
  18. Do you really think the disclaimer about your native American heritage makes your statement less racist? Firewater? Thats just about as crude as calling them redskins. And since I am 1/8 Choctaw, I have every right to this statement...You are a moron
  19. Wattad is not walking on to Georgetown...2 players transferred freeing up his scholarship.
  20. What if I offended SATAN? Do you think I would care? He isn't a constitutionally protected US citizen. I think being HUMAN is necessary before you can claim human rights. Stop making up fairytale scenarios. And besides, I wasn't born and raised in Greeneville...they could change their name to the Big Greene Burley and I don't think I would care. I have been a Cougar and a Bulldog and if they ever complain I think I might just check in for rehab.
  21. This is the most articulate point made on this issue so far. Noone respects tradition more than traditional native americans and they are seeing theirs slowly being eradicated or assimilated into Anglo-American culture. This "we have used the symbol for a long time and if you don't like it that's just too bad" attitude is disturbing to me as an American and a Christian. Preserving the symbol of our schools has become more important than respecting the symbols of their ancestors and culture. The argument is so lame..."Don't mess with our traditions and symbols"...it kinda goes both ways. It is apparently OK for people to be upset over the possibility of losing their football mascot, but heaven forbid, the people who are actually offended by the misuse of their cultural icons should voice their oppositions. That has got to be the most arrogant, egotistical and hypocratic attitude I have seen displayed by what are normally level headed, compassionate people.
  22. You might notice I predicted this could happen if Omar was hot and Greeneville wasn't.
