Both are good teams. I predict Ezell Harding 35 DCA 21. Schlappi will have 400 yards passing and Wooden will have 200 yards rushing.

My predictions for the year in 1A for the latter stages of the playoffs beginning: Ezell Harding vs DCA CPA vs Collinwood Ezell Harding vs CPA CPA vs USJ CPA vs South Pittsburg for State Championship South Pittsburg State Champion (time for somebody outside of CPA/Ezell district to win it)

Just a note about the state tournament in A-AA. Congratulations to the Ezell Harding squad who, only in their fourth year of having a soccer program, made it to the state tourney and advanced to the semifinals only losing 2-1 to a good CAK team. The seniors (Austin Brunhoeber, Jeremy Walker, Jacob Burney, Andy Frizzell, JT Thompson, Austin Henderson, Mark Lucas) who began this program as freshmen, and took a few whippings, had a great year and should be proud of what they accomplished. Also, three of these seniors (Austin Henderson, Jacob Burney & JT Thompson) finished as state tournament runners-up in basketball twice, and won a state championship in football.

Way to go Ezell. This is a great accomplishment in just your 4th year of having a soccer team. For the seniors who started this program when in the 9th grade, wow what an honor. The state tourney will be tough. There are some bigtime teams with impressive records but just keep scrapping and you never know what will happen. Good luck to your District 12 rivals FRA also.

The games of Haywood vs Sheffield and Ridgeway vs Westview will be played today. They were postponed due to rain.

Ezell wins 5-2

Ezell is 1-0-1. They beat MLK 1-0 and tied Goodpasture 3-3

The seeding for the District 9A tournament has not been set yet but I think that the tournament will end like the following depending on which side of the bracket teams end up on: (1) Goodpasture (2) Ezell Harding (3) DCA (4) CPA From what I have seen, I think that the District 10A tourney will end as follows: (1) McEwen (2) Houston Co (3) Nashville Christian (4) Davidson Academy The Region 5A Tourney will end with Goodpasture beating McEwen for the region championship.

Ezell Harding has a good kicker. Jacob Burney had 92 XP's last year and has 45 this year. Rarely misses. Unfortunately, from one respect for a kicker, plays for a coach that likes TD's a lot and will usually go for it on fourth down to get the TD. Has only one valid FG attempt vs CPA of 28yds.

One of the best combos in Class A ball is Jr QB Randy Schlappi to Sr WR AJ Blackburn. They also have Schlappi to Sr WR Jacob Burney and Jr WR Jeremy Gettis. Sometimes all three are in the play and it is incredibly hard to stop. I have also seen Sr QB Jonathan Ward to either WR's Victory or Green and it also is a show to watch.

Everyone at Ezell Harding hopes that he is going to be OK. We will include him in our prayers. Please update us on his condition.

The Ezell Harding and Boyd coaches have decided that the game will be played on schedule tonight. Should be great game. Be careful everybody.

I was at the loretto vs Ezell harding game last week and the Loretto turf was really good. Maybe the best that I have seen in a long time. The fence on one end and the rails on the other are kinda close though. Keeping a field in good shape like Loretto's is very hard.

Again, I am very appreciative of the poll makers. It just looks like a very odd season.

Just a note about Sonny's State High School Poll.... Last night (8-29-2002) there were only 7 games of which I am aware.
