  1. 1A- Ezell 2A- Goodpasture 3A- Trousdale County 4A- Maryville 5A- too close to call D-II, A- ???? D-II, AA- BGA D-II, AAA- BA or McCallie
  2. Ok, well hou about concerned? Is that a better word to use? Man, sounds like I don't have much faith in Franklin, but I do...maybe I should just worry about Kenwood first.
  3. A lot of those games look very nice...the one that didn't really jump out at me till right now- Franklin/Hendersonville. A rematch of last year's first round when H'ville destroyed the Rebels would be at Franklin this year. Think the Rebels would remember that loss from year? The thing that scares me after that is the Green Wave.

OK, let's think about this logically for a moment. Let's say that they are around 70 players on the team. Mutiply that by 3 to include their two parents and you get 210 people that you state know why what happened did occur. I'm sorry, but 210 people CAN NOT keep a secret. The reason would have leaked to the press who would have been all over it. Which leads me to believe that there is no reason. And oh come on! Don't be so blind! Masters could be swayed toward removing Moore by plenty of people associated with the school. [Edited by FHSrebel27 on 10-20-02 12:13A]
  5. Actually, it pretty much does. My bad.
  6. Well I was thinking that Henry County would have to beat Centennial and then have Clarksville beat Centennial for Henry County to make it, but I guess I'm wrong there. Must have done some bad calcs. last week at 4 in the morning. I also thought that if Dickson Co. beats Brentwood and then Franklin beats Dickson Co. that Franklin is the region champ because of the tie-breaker which would be overall record. It's because Franklin, Brentwood, and Dickson Co. would all be 5-1. Then, I go to trusty fractions... Brentwood/Franklin; Dickson County/Brentwood; Franklin/Dickson County. Each win is cancelled out by a loss. It would be a lot easier if both Dickson County and Henry County beat Brentwood but I don't see that happeneing. I don't know that I even see Brentwood losing to Dickson County, but it's a possibility. But yes, an excellent post, I was wondering what was going to happen up there in region 5 and now I know. 7. 4)Centennial 5-3 5th- points for, 6th- points against, 6th- victory margin LW: L @Dickson County 20-7 TW: Henry County (3-5) Centennial had a tough time against Dickson County as predicted. The Cougars (DCHS) defense squelched the Cougars (CHS), holding their offense to 105 total yards. QBs Bates and Veach and HB Tracy Beech need to muster everything they have for this game against Henry County, because this game will essentially determine who takes home 4th place in Region 6-5A and goes to the playoffs. The Patriots are currently in 4th with a 2-2 region record while Centennial is 1-3 and in 5th. Henry County runs the ball most of the time behind backs Chris Atkins and Robert Beard. When they throw, Nolen Poteete is not extremely accurate. Centennial should win. Prediction: Centennial 21, Henry County 7 I may be wrong but Henry County would have to beat CHS and then have Clarksville beat CHS for Henry Co. to make the playoffs so I don't think this one decides 4th yet.

Then I guess that Masters had a choice at the end of every season about whether to keep Moore or put in Flatt. Durring all three seasons that Coach Moore was there, towards the second half of the season, Coach Flatt was at practice and on the sidelines. On the note of "maximizing faculty potential" I have a little to say as well. Tom Moore is an excellent teacher. Granted, I had him for Civics but he knew his stuff, especially when it came to Economics. There was some point that there was a chapter on Econ in the Civics book and that had to be what he knew most about and was able to deliver it well. So all that is hogwash, I'm sorry. I've actually heard that Coach Flatt isn't the greatest teacher. It's simple. Coach Moore was given a rotten deal. I was at the CPA/FRA game Friday night and it was sad to see him on the sidelines being so much more than a DB coach. You could tell he wants to be the head guy, and he should be (well not at CPA 'cause Pack is a great coach, but you know what I mean).
  9. So then it's true? Now newspapers in both cites are reporting a win for the Owls. That's just amazing.
  10. Haha, well you're starting to know me too well. I may have to go to Kenwood now just to see this. I saw Catholic run this style offense against BGA last year and it's interesting and quite entertaining. But do they execute it well?
  11. Well I'm disapointed I wasn't able to go. Parents. Ah, gotta love them sometimes. But they wouldn't even let me go to Overton. Can we say overprotective? Anyways, congrats to Gallatin. I thought it would be closer so I'm a believer in the Green Wave now. Good luck to ya'll the rest of the way.
  12. No suprise there. Around the region, Dickson County beat Centennial 20-7...Henry County defeated Clarksville 24-7. I can't remember what a Henry County win tonight does to the playoff chase. It can't be good for Clarksville. Brentwood/ Dickson County next week is setting up to be a huge game. I really want to go support my Rebels at Kenwood, but I think may be more entertained at BHS/DCHS.
  13. It was a good game till mid-fouth on... would have been 14-7 with about 10 minutes to go if it hadn't been for two fumble returns for TD's by CPA. But they had their fair share of turnovers themselves. Anybody remember exactly how many both teams had?
  14. 21-0? 24-0? One of those two, BGA wins
  15. Who in their right mind gave this guy a good mark? Sadly, it was me. I thought he was a good guy after his first post after the BHS/FHS game. I'm tempted to take it away from him, especially after this last remark but I'd hate to lose one of mine and possibly lose voting privelages myself. You know, you could have least spelled his name right coward. But yeah, I agree with you on your assesment of Jared, I know I'd never like to get him upset at me, so I'd watch out.
  16. Gosh...that makes sense. FHSRebel...the team that beat the team that beat your team is probably deserving of being ranked higher than you. Now, you might say that your team and Brentwood have both improved more than BA, but since the Eagles start 5 Sophomores, I'll bet they are probably more improved than BHS in week 7. Frankly, if BA played BHS today, the score would be more decisive by a long shot. But that really doesn't matter. As I've said on this board previously, the best way to compare two teams is to have them play each other, and the Eagles won against the Bruins, and the Bruins won against the Rebels. End of story. Pretty much you're right, I think FHS and BHS have improved more than BA...add that to the fact that I haven't seen BA play this year, it's what I chose to do. Also, it was a gut instinct I was following. BA is good, very good, and they'll have a good chance at D-II, AAA state, but I just think 5A football is better and FHS and BHS are two of the top teams in 5A. See, now I give reasons and they don't make sense.
  17. well i feel bad your 1000th post was something simple like that but again, thank you a lot...and good luck
  18. Thanks to both of you...I'm sure I can at least get nearby and then ask for directions if I can't find it. One more question, is game time 7 or 7:30?
  19. Probally gonna head up for the game tomorrow night...could someone give me some directions coming from Franklin? Thanks!

    Franklin

I was actually thinking of where to go watch this Friday and I may take yuo up on the invitation. No real exciting action being played here in the county Friday night so I'll see if I can get up there...I don't know if I want to see it though, may scare me. Haha. Good luck to ya'll!
  21. I wasn't going to respond but I just re-read this and have a few things to say then I will hopefully keep my mouth shut. When did he say anything about you all being classless? He just said that he would remember ya'll jumping on the midfield logo. About the whole flag issue, it's not one. Stealing isn't good, but it was a prank. Nothing serious. Back in the 70's, Columbia was Franklin's big rival and durring basketball season the head of the lion mascot was stolen as a prank. The Rebel fans chanted "We got the head! We got the head! We got the head!" It was later returned, no harm done. When it comes to a rivalry, I feel that as long as nothing is damaged or destroyed, it's ok. A little pain on the field, that's cool. Anyways fhste84 would have nothing to do with sending our little "bandies" over to your side to get the flag so why complain to him about it? If you're trying to prove how much class you and Bruin fans have, you're not helping. And I'm not trying to say that Rebel fans are perfect, because we're not. We're classless at times too.
  22. Maybe I should just stay mum since everyone thinks everything I post is biased towards Franklin (which in a way it is, but not dramitically, and plus, I thought that was ok here on CoachT) but I'm gonna make a Williamson County poll anyways.I'm gonna do this in reverse like they do on the Pro Football Edition of Sportsnight with the Top Ten at Ten. So maybe I should wait till 7 and make it the top 7 at 7? No. Number 7, number 7 on the survey is.......the Page High School Patriots. Coach Bennet does a good job out there at Page, it's just a down year for them. I still see them making the playoffs though. Number 6, number 6 on the survey is.......the Battle Ground Academy Wildcats. This isn't really how bad BGA is, more how good the entire county is. Besides the big win over MBA, haven't done too much to impress me, but they'll go far in D-II, AA. Number 5, number 5 on the survey is.......the Fairview Yellow Jackets. I'm seeing a journey quite deep in the playoffs for Faiview this year. I think they'll get it together even more so. Cothran will lead the way. Number 4, number 4 on the survey is.......the Centennial High School Cougars. Key game at Dickson County this week. They beat them this week and they might move up in my book. Certainly a team to be reckoned with performing well against their toughest challenges (ie Brentwood, Franklin), and look to make some noise come playoffs (should they make it). Number 3, number 3 on the survey is.......a shocker, the Brentwood Academy Eagles. They still haven't done anything to totally impress me. They'll make noise, lots of it, in the playoffs too, but I don't know if they can beat McCallie. Number 2, number 2 on the survey is......the Franklin High School Rebels. Probaly should be number 3 but I really think they just didn't bring their best game against Brentwood, that on any other night the story would have been different. I'm not one to take too much away from a team after just one loss. (ie If Miami had lost to FSU, I still think they should have been number 1). And number 1, number 1 on the survey is.......the Brentwood High School Bruins. A very nice win over the Rebels and are set to win the region championship. Everson didn't impress me too much, but it was the first time I had seen him. I think he is talented enough though to lead the Bruins far.
  23. I agree with ya wesvols, talk is fun. Haha, off the subject here but I'll forget if I don't tell you now. Sitting in English class today and a friend (you know him too, but just remind me and I'll tell ya who) leans over and says "Are you the one always posting on CoachT?" Yeah, that'd be me. "And is Wes (your last name) the other one on there?" Yeah, that'd be him. "Ya'll are on there a lot. I was checking the boards out at three one morning over the break and ya'll were still posting." HAHA! I thought it was great. I think it was more a nice way of telling me that I have no life. Back to this one, look for, well no, I won't make a score prediction but I see good things for BA.
  24. Hey now, you can't forget good 'ole Kenwood here next week. All seriousness. Ha, he won't tell you his name. Not even worth asking. I'm with you that he is an embarrassment to Brentwood High School. You always impress me with how you get in your 2 cents and move on. I let things like this bruinfever dude bother me for some reason. I hope that none of my reactions to him (or anything that I have said caused him to act like a fool) has cast a negative light on Franklin High. If it seems that way, I'll stop posting. I certainly don't want to be detrimental to you guys in any way. Let me know... until then though good mark for your rather calm post (I had a difficult time last night being calm after he asked me if I dated one of ya'll)... GO REBELS! [Edited by FHSrebel27 on 10-16-02 12:23A]
  25. Yeah, I was actually getting ready to sit down a couple days ago and figure out who the various teams in our Region might get, but somehow got sidetracked. Trust me, I realize that any team that the Rebels draw will not be a pushover. That's just not gonna happen. But hey, I'm still excited, nothing will change that. I wouldn't care if we had Riverdale (yes, I know, impossible, just saying) to start off I'd still be as excited as I am. And for the beginning of your post there, a good mark for you.
