  1. No, because I think Ravenwood and Franklin are the best. There's a reason why I couldn't vote... that wasn't a choice.
  2. I chose not to vote yet... let's do this around Week 9 or 10 and perhaps I'll offer up some thoughts.
  3. The only way that will work is just like you say it ftballkicker. All three teams would have to beat the other. Franklin/Brentwood. Brentwood/Ravenwood. Ravenwood/Franklin. Plus, those teams can't lose to anyone else in the region. That's a lot that has to happen. Should Ravenwood lose to someone else (not Brentwood) that doesn't also go 6-1, then Ravenwood will still be the region champs. At this point, I'm just worried about Father Ryan though...
  4. From what I could tell (getting instant reports from someone else who was on the phone with someone there), the play before was third down. We actually thought he had scored on 3rd down for a moment, but then realized there was an injured player. That brought up 4th and goal on which RHS scored. But what do I know? I was/am in Sarasota, Florida. GO REBS!
  5. Sure they can. Until proven otherwise, Brentwood simply cannot be counted out of the race in Region 6-5A. I do believe Ravenwood, Franklin, and Brentwood are locks for the playoffs. Columbia and Dickson County will battle for the fourth and final spot. If you consider that noise on Columbia's part, then sure.
  6. Not entirely true. The region record is what sets the playoffs. If both teams have one loss in the region, the first tie breaker is head-to-head, so Ravenwood would be the first seed. It doesn't matter if Ravenwood was to lose other non-region games. All that matters is the region record. You get to overall record for the second tie-breaker between teams. But with it being only Week 3 now, I don't see the need to worry about that yet.
  7. Mikrut 13/34 for 191 yards but with three INTs Jennings 17/32 for 188 yards but with three INTs
  8. Yes, let's keep the pub/priv out of this and just discuss the game, please. If you'd like to do both, then all I ask is to just create a thread for it on the pub/priv board. We don't mind y'all talking about it, just try to keep it over there. Thanks!
  9. Congratulations to Lincoln County! 2-1 now, yes? Glad to see y'all rebounded from Week 0. Some teams would have just folded in after that... way to battle!
  10. Well, it's like they always say at the end of a Devil Rays game down here on TV "hope you enjoyed the game, but not the outcome." I spent tonight talking with several other Franklin alums and had a blast talking about the game with them. Come overtime, we were all saying things like "DE! FENSE!" as if we were there. It was crazy. But I guess I'm fortunate to know some great folks who share this... obsession? This crazy little game called football, what friends it makes of people. Okay, I'm doing being sentimental now. Yes, I would hope that both teams will make some noise in the playoffs. In fact, at this point in Franklin history, I expect nothing less. We'll see though... PLENTY of football to be played. Let's wait till Week 5 or so to start thinking playoffs...
  11. Just in case you didn't check the game update thread... I'm gonna recap the OTs. Ravenwood's first possesion: they are forced into 4th and inches after apparently Dylan Williams nearly got it across and into the endzone. He was shaken up on the play. Hopefully he'll be okay! They punched it in from there and with the PAT, forced Franklin to have to score 7 as well. Franklin's first possesion: two plays into the endzone. Nothing special that I'm aware of. PAT good and sends the game into the 2nd OT. Franlin's second possession: this time, Ravenwood forces Franklin into a 4th and goal from the one. They also punched it in for 6 and the PAT was good. Ravenwood's second possesion: two incomplete passes on first and second downs. It looked hopeful for the Franklin faithful until I'm assuming a pass into the endzone for 6. Ravenwood had the guts to go for two and thus the win. Franklin no doubt had visions of Hendersonville in their head (quarterfinals 2003). However, there would be no stoping th Raptors. The two-point conversion was good and thus Ravenwood won. Turnovers were the name of the game tonight. Both teams shot themselves in the foot multiple times. The already-mentioned INT by Mikrut... Ravenwood snapping the ball over Jennings' head with under :30 to play in the 4th... and the list goes on and on. Hopefully we'll hear what I think - these two teams are this evenly matched. They both made about the same amount of mistakes... at least, it seemed that way listening to it. We'll know more when BDD and the gang post later on.
  12. The Raptors even up their record tonight at 1-1 with their double overtime victory at Franklin. They improve to 1-0 in Region 6-5A while Franlin falls to 0-1, 2-1 on the season. Big play in my book tonight is Mikrut's INT after the long run by Hardemon. Franklin scores there... who knows. Lots of those type things can be said from tonight's game though. That's gonna be all I have to say for now cause my fingers are tired! (Look at the update thread on the game update board) Congratulations to Ravenwood on their win tonight. Rebels - keep your heads up! Next week is a new week. Very likely will get a second shot at these guys, but let's not think about that right now. Practice hard, correct things, and get a W next week.
  13. Well, we're certainly going to see soon, won't we? GO REBELS!
  14. As I was reading through this thread and saw my post... I thought to myself "what the heck?! Why did I say that?!" Then I realized that yes, it was two seasons ago.
  15. And again, I'll point out the Lightning. PRESEASON game... I was looking at tickets tonight at work (we are a Ticketmaster outlet)... I was looking for seats comparable to my favorites in the GEC... 68 dollars! Compared to around 24-30 at the GEC! So, you've got it good in Nashville. And I know even if the Preds win the Cup, they won't jack prices up like that. And again, I can't wait for Opening Night! Although, I'm disapointed they're giving away mini-Stanley Cups that night and t-shirts at the first Saturday home game. I don't want a Stanely Cup with an O'Charley's logo plastered on it (perhaps there won't be a commercial logo on it... but I doubt it). For some reason, commercial logos look better on t-shirts. Anyways... GO PREDS!
  16. Well, that's your opinion and I respect that. However, I also strongly disagree with it. But oh well...
  17. I'm not really sure what you're saying there since that comment which I assume is supposed to be a question could be read a couple different ways. Regardless, since there really aren't Williamson County standings, I don't see what your point would be anyway...
  18. If anyone thinks it is too expensive, they're crazy. They have to make money, ya know. Like I said, I paid $24 or so for great seats right at center ice about 2 or 3 rows up in the 300 level. They were GREAT seats. They were better than the seat I paid around $125 (to a scalper, face was 70 something) about 15 rows up in the 100 level for Game 6. Hockey is a game I'd rather see develop than be close to the action and miss what's going on in the other corner. Oh well... either get on the waggon now or there won't be a seat come May when they're battling for the Cup. GO PREDS!
  19. Here's a thought for those of you with shelters in your town. If there are people there, try to get 'em to go with you to a game this Friday night (pay their way). It'll be a good couple hours for 'em to forget about what's going on. I don't really know if the Red Cross would let you, but it's just something that crossed my mind.
  20. Oh, I guess I can toss in a GO VOLS! Of course, there's the Thundering Herd, the Golden Eagles, the Hilltoppers, and probably a few I'm missing out that also have Franklin alumni that will be hitting the field this weekend or the next, so good luck to all of them as well! Oh... and GO REBELS!
  21. BDD, let it be known that we don't want it changed! I'll be made as Hades if it isn't there Friday night (and thus not there when I'm there for Homecomming). The black jerseys having to go last year is one thing... this is another. All in all, not a big deal, but man. I haven't seen a nicer looking field across the state! The F makes all the difference.
  22. If the F isn't at the 50, I won't be a happy camper. There's no reason to mess with that tradition of sorts. And as usual, a great breakdown of the game. You've been complaining about the DEs for years now. I wouldn't imagine you'd finally get your wish this week. However, this would be a heck of a week for it to happen, because I agree with your strategy there. I, too, think it's the best way to keep Jennings and the Ravenwood offense in check. We'll see though... GO REBS!
  23. $10 is an excellent price! I have to pay $18 for those kind of seats here in Tampa and they're worse seats. You can get GREAT seats in Nashville for around $24 or so... at least they're great to me. I don't understand the concept of sitting behind the goals. I'd rather be at center ice a little ways up. Either way, you'll never know until you've been.
  24. Oh well... I'm glad they had the ticket-thon. I'm sure it went really well... just like it did when the team first moved to town. And I'm just excited that I'll be there Opening Night... GO PREDS!
