  1. Just wanted to say congratulations to Coach Lee & Coach Steve for the job they did this year & winning it all. Yes they had a great team, but so did a few other teams, at least they thought. The pressure to win is tougher than most people know. Good luck to all the seniors & what a great career they have had. However, for everyone that thinks GHS will be down, they have lots of talent on this team & will be back in the hunt. Beach had a great year this year & only returned I think 3 starters from last year's state championship team. They have a good team with good coaches & will be a threat next year in 2A Division, hopefully in Murfreesboro. I know for a fact that they have the pitching to compete but they will miss DP who moves on to UT. They still have 2 great pitchers & I know a bunch of others that will compete. Some people just say reload, but with the talent & great coaching, GHS will be a HUGE FACTOR next year! Good luck also to Marshall County this year, Rossview & Beech for having a great year. In Div 2, Ryan & BA finished strong & both will be in the hunt to be back next year. Have a great summer to all, enjoyed watching & competing against you all this year. Hopefully we'll see you there! B Tyree
  2. Well, first of all the game was no particular person's fault...not the coaches, not any individual player's. last time i checked this is a TEAM sport. A pretty wise man once told me you have to have confidence in yourself, confidence in your TEAM, and confidence in your coaches...sad to say, Brentwood didn't show those qualities. I'm pretty sure i know Brentwood's players pretty well, and i want to say that i truely am sorry that the seniors had to go out this way because i know exactly how they feel...but at the same time, it seems like they were a little over-confident...riley is a young, talented pitcher and the game wasnt her fault. you have to have defense to back up your pitcher and several of those runs were un-earned. Also, hats of to McGavock for hitting the ball. It seems like they were putting it in play to make things happen instead of trying to swing for the fences every pitch like Brentwood did. Hopefully the younger players will remember how this feels and use it to help them in years to come. Good luck girls, keep your heads up!
  3. Ive been taking lessons from Gary now for almost 7 years. He taught me so much and when i heard the news, it broke my heart. He is truely one of the best people i have ever met and i will miss him so much. His arrangements have been made for this Thursday (visitation) 5-9 and funeral 1:00 at Woodlawn.
  4. Brentwood plays Centennial tomorrow for the district championship. Centennial has to beat Brentwood twice to win it. Game starts at 4:00 at Fly Park in Franklin.
  5. Thanks Nat for showing everyone that awesome picture!....Meg: i appreciate your kind words. Those dance lessons are really starting to show for you, you'll be ready to go pro any day now. keep up the good work
  6. Only the top 2 advance past district
  7. Keep up the good work, girls!
  8. Lindsay Cavarra from Brentwood is the best i have seen... Also, that girl from Beech is good. i dont know her name... and i agree that the Gibbs catcher is very good as well.
  9. Megan Rhodes has a great coach, goes to Club D with her high school coach, Gary Davis. Allison Tyree goes to Gary Martineau who has coached other great pitchers from the area like Kasey Clark, Jennirer Wright, Natalie Brock who used to pitch & many other SEC pitchers.
  10. Tarrah Tucker, Hickman's junior pitcher pitched for Hickman & Allison Tyree pitched for Brentwood, her 21st win of season. Pitched a 1 hitter, giving up 1st hit in 6th inning, thougt pitched a great game. Hickman ran into a got Brentwood team that came out early to put the game away. Look for Hickman Co, to bounce back. Good Luck to both teams. What a great facility Hickman Co has, they should be proud of it & I know they are.
  11. Does anyone have any scores?
  12. Megan is without a doubt the best pitcher in the state!...Keep it up, Meg!
  13. Wilson Central won Lady Bruins Classic, beating Christian County (KY) 7-1 in Finals. Congratulations to WC.
  14. I does matter. Once a player has played at a high school program (public OR private), they will have to sit out a year if they move out of zone. If for instance a player family moved from Manchester to Murf, that is out of zone so they would be eligible to play at another school. However, if a player moved and attended DCA in 8th & 9th Grade, they could NOT play without sitting out at either Wilson Central High or Brentwood Academy because they are still considered in the zone. If the student moved to Manchester, that is out of zone & could play right away. Not really a struggle to understand. If a student moved from Stratford High School & played Varsity sports, into the Antioch High Zone, they could be ruled eligible to play because they moved out of zone. Public School zones are determined by Board of Education & are alot smaller than Privite School Zones so a private school athlete would have to move pretty far away to be eligble, not just across county line.
  15. It's unfortunate that this young lady will not be able to play school ball. Some parents think they can give their kids a head start by allowing them to attend smaller schools which they can. But the problem is if they change schools after being credited with an athletic record, they must sit out 1 whole year. There are several kids in the area that have requested permission to play just like her but if have to establish rules & they are well documented what those rules are. She is in a good program & should still get plenty of quality playing time. Some players have to drop out because of finacial problems whether it be their Freshman year or the Senior year. As a matter of fact, the TSSAA has a long list of athletes every year that fall in the same problem. At least it was caught before playing and costing her future teammates wins by having to forfeit if she had played. And if the parents knew that this might happen, why blame the TSSAA or the rules. It really is a good & fair rule for everyone to follow.
  16. Thanks Kris! W're sure gonna miss you this year! I guess ill have the SB all to myself. Good luck with your season!...Al

Megan- Dont worry, your gonna get to do your dance at the end of the year... I know what you're capable of!...and by the way, we still need to have our b-day party! Good luck this season except against us. j/k, love ya!
  18. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 3 SENIORS & good luck with your graduation on Monday. We are so proud of you all. You each have had great contributions to this program for 4 years now. I have enjoyed following each of you throughout the years. I enjoyed coaching EACH of you & it is still fun to watch you play. It was fun with the BLUES, but it was fun watching you grow up into young ladies & great competitors. You each have been leaders at BA & the BLUES & come from GREAT parents. GOOD LUCK to each of you. Coach B PS> Still can't get over that Slice Liz hit to the fence against FR (or was that a hook?)
  19. Way to go Megan! Keep up the good work SWA! We'll see you when u get back from state! (hopefully with a ring) good luck!

  22. Krissy plays first for Brentwood. She had an awesome tournament... but so did everyone else as well. Way to go Lady Bruins!
  23. Ezellsoftball04, Don't give up. Try open up just 1 of your eyes & guess. Things will get better or you will get "HIT". I think she's pretty good, but so are you. Good Luck this weekend. Oh yea, by "HIT" [Edited by alliegator11 on 4-2-03 7:24P]
