Does anyone know or have a possible depth chart for Powell High School's football team this year on both offense and defense? If so, please post. Also, what kind of team will Powell have this year?

I heard that Powell was starting up a true middle school football program like those at Oak Ridge, Maryville, etc. If so, is this sanctioned by the Knox Co. school system? Is this true?

I have a question about this multiplier. How did the TSSAA determine that only "urban" public schools in the 4 big cities in TN would be under a 1.25 multiplier? What is the purpose for this? Is it to level the playing field somewhat? What about a school like Maryville that is not in Knoxville, but has dominated in 4A football? Will Maryville fall under the 1.25 multiplier? If not, then how does this level the playing field? You'll have 4A teams from big cities (i.e. Hillsboro, Knox Central, Melrose, etc.) that will be moved up to 5A, but Maryville will stay at 4A while all their competition is moved up a class. Am I missing something here?

When this board gets inactivated soon, will people who are not members (i.e. pay $12 a year) not be able to read football posts? In the past, I thought non-members could read posts during the off-season, but couldn't add any posts of their own. Please clarify.

What years did John Olive play at Maryville HS, and what position did he play? Also, when he was the head coach at MHS, did he leave on his own choosing, or did he get forced out?

Thank you, Morristown West, from all of us that want to see ANYONE in the 4A game BESIDES Maryville!!! Way to go!!!

I saw the Hillsboro-Melrose game tonight. Two of Melrose's touchdowns came on fumble returns. Melrose didn't really impress me that much. Hillsboro was able to run the ball on Melrose. The fullback for Hillsboro (Bryant #2) went out of the game with what looked to be a knee injury, so I don't know if he will play next week or not. That being said, I don't think either one of these teams could beat Maryville next week. As much as anyone (excluding Maryville fans), I would like to see a new 4A champ next week, but I don't see it happening. JMHO.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I really hope Melrose wins. I think they would have a better chance of ending Maryville's reign as 4A champs than Hillsboro. Hillsboro has played and lost to Maryville the last 2 years by being outcoached and by running a one-dimensional offense that can't pass. If they get behind in a game, they're done. It would be the same old crap this year. Hillsboro can't beat Maryville.

If Hillsboro were to play Maryville in the state championship game again, it would be the same old crap as the last 2 years. Until Hillsboro learns to throw the football and have some semblence of balance, they will NOT beat Maryville, this year or any year. I'm not a fan of either school, nor of Melrose, but I hope Melrose is able to beat Hillsboro and has a chance to play Maryville this year. If not, you can just mark down Maryville as the 4-time 4A state champ. Hillsboro would get outcoached again and would NOT beat Maryville! Just my opinion!

I was reading the Mt. Juliet paper today and it had a memorial poem for Michael Bochette in it. I recall someone posting on here that he had played football. What happened to him? He was young. Forgive me, but I'm not from around here and just moved here recently.

If a community, high school, or whatever doesn't have the "want to" to be as good as they can be in football, or any other sport for that matter, then I don't understand that mentality. How could you not want to be good in everything? How could a community that is one of the fastest growing cities in Tennessee not want to be a powerhouse in all sports, or at least extremely competitive? If that is true, then I don't get it.
