  1. Lebanon 7 Grundy Co. 1 White House 13 Lebanon 2 Lebanon 5 John Paul 4
  2. Does anyone remember the year that Oliver Simmons of David Lipscomb won the AA player of the year? The best player in AA that year was a 6'11 kid from Memphis by the name of Lorenzen Wright, who by the way is still in the NBA with the Grizzlies. Did Simmons even finish college anywhere? This proves that it's a most popular vote, not a best player vote.
  3. what were the scores, please?

    Middle TN

Area teams will play in two large tourneys in March...Smyrna Grand Slam Challenge will start on March 17th throughout Rutherford County...Riverdale's tourney, (Warrior Classic) has 40 teams in their tourney, it starts March 31st and is played all over Middle Tennesse, teams from memphis and Knoxville will also participate. This first three weeks will tell who are contenders and who are the pretenders.
  5. Oakland has the prettiest grass...Riverdale has the best sound system and music selection...thanks David...hats off to all the volunteers who make the fields look and play so great!!
  6. I know Union City will drop down to Class A next year... they lose one player...with only 391 students they have to be the one of smallest AA schools..Raleigh-Egypt has 1200 students and Haywood County 1100; doesn't seem quite fair...but they only put 5 on the floor at a time haha...with the Siscos' on the bench, that doesn't seem fair either...did I mention next year they drop down a class and lose only one player!!!...Pre-Preaseason No. 1...you heard it here first.
  7. I know Union City drops to Class A next year...Will they be in this district?...If so they will be very strong...they lose one player from their 30-2 team of 2005!!! Looks like a dramtic shift, almost like the New Madrid fault line,hahaha...new rivals old aquaintanices....
  8. The score is kept this way: each team has 6 bowlers in head to head games, for a win a team receives a point, a tie results in a half-point for each team, total pins by each team is compared for 2 points; so 8 points is given for each game in a three game match; after 3 games, total pins are compared to determine who wins 3 points...total points will be 27. 8 x 3 = 24... 24 + 3 = 27. Smyrna bowled incredibly well to achieve thier goal of dethroning perrennial state-champ Hendersonville: in the short history of TN High School State Tournaments, Smyrna set several records including: HIGHEST GAME SCORE (1415) and the 2 top scores in HIGHEST MATCH SCORES 3977 & 3975...in fact all 4 matches of 2005 appear in the top 6 match scores record (3977 vs. Munfrord, 3975 vs. Mt Juliet, 3894 vs. Columbia Central, & 3875 vs. Hendersonville) needless to say, their total State Tournament score of 15,721 is the best ever!! Smyrna's win was a total team effort as all 6 bowlers averaged over 200 pins per game...Chris White 231 avg., Kyle Barnes 224 avg., AJ Kelly 220 avg., James Skinner 217 avg., Josh Zimmerman 213 avg. and Ben Anderson 204 avg. Only one senior on this team, seems safe to say that they will be the favorite to repeat next year. Congaratulations to the 23-0 Smyrna Boys Bulldog Bowling team as the TSSAA Boys Bowling State Champions for 2005.
  9. Smyna defeats Hendersonville 20-7.....Columbia defeats Page.... Smyrna defeats Columbia for the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP....undefeated season 23-0.
  10. Union City 83-73 over Humboldt............Union City now 21-2.......... Still undefeated inside the state of Tenn..............
  11. Do you remember a quick kick by Lane Wright against OCCHS in the fall of 1983 or 1984? I beleive it measured 75-80 yds!! wind and rain were a factor...
  12. BEING A UC GRAD AND LIVING IN NASHVILLE,THE INTERNET HAS KEPT ME UP TO DATE ON THEIR GAMES...SINCE THEY'VE BEEN DOWN FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS, IT IS NICE TO SEE THAT THEY ARE COMPETING AGAIN AT AN EXCELLENT LEVEL...THEY ARE STILL UNDEFEATED IN THE STATE OF TN!! DOES AYNONE OUT THERE REMEMBER "UTC" ON THOSE GOLD HELMETS...CLASS OF 1972.
  13. I CAN REMEMBER IN THE PAST WHEN SEVERAL A OR AA TEAMS COULD COMPETE AND BEAT THE AAA TEAMS...BUT THE CLASS SYSTEM DOES GIVE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR MORE SCHOOLS TO WIN STATE TITLES...I'D LIKE TO SEE ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP.... BETWEEN DIFFERENT CLASS CHAMPIONS WITH DIV. I AND DIV. II ...MAYBE A FINAL FOUR?
  14. Hey pccoach...I was wondering if you had seen any of these games... good luck the rest of the way ...I will be watching
  15. This team will be hard pressed to defend its title, the big games were won by their seniors last year, mainly Matt Scott and Chris Camp, just look at the region tourney and sub-state game from last year. Revis plays every game so close to the vest that he does not develope his younger players...also with a meager JV schedule and no freshman schedule the younger kids do not get alot of playing time...If the truth were known, Mike Holman deseves as much credit for bringing the state title to LaVergne last year as Craig Revis.
  16. I saw alot of good teams this weekend at this tourney...Buddy Power really knows how to run good tourneys and attract top-fight teams...it has been a pleasure to officiate these games and observe the quality of baseball in this great state of Tennessee...I predict that a few of these teams will make it to the SRING FLING in Memphis this year!!
  17. Hey pccoach...How you doooinng? Here is my list.... where's yours? 1. Houston 2. Jackson North Side 3. Munford 4. CBHS 5. Germantown 6. Bolton 7. Bartlett 8. USJ 9. Lexington 10. MUS
  18. Germantown plays Riverdale on Thursday, plays LaVergne on Friday and plays Oakland on Saturday...Germantown graduated 8 Div 1 players last season...
  19. TSSAA has changed the baseball format...region winners will go to spring fling next year, which is in Memphis in 2003....that means eight teams...will take one more win to claim the championship!! Look for LaVergne Farragut and Munford all to return in AAA...all three of these teams were young last year...
  20. Milam should be "Milan" .... Martin Westfield should be "Martin Westview"....Humblebolt should be "Humboldt" and Huntindon should be "Huntingdon"
  21. As of 4/10...David Price has beaten Riverdale and Oakland both...along with Lebanon and Warren Co.
