  1. Good Luck to the Dragons from a Oak Ridge guy this Friday night vs the Golden Eagles. See you in basketball season and I hope we're more competitive then.
  2. I believe Tyler Clark will see a good deal of time at quarterback but you are not exactly right about David Irby being Oak Ridge's best defensive lineman. He has played there very little as of late and not because of Tyler's injury.
  3. There isn't a station that you could hear in Cleveland doing the Oak Ridge game tonight. It will be on the internet if your phone allows you to use it. The site is Prepradio.com
  4. It's a joke between me and him. I know all about you guys. He will understand.
  5. I am 99.9% sure that Henry County won't win another game. Please tell Coach Gaddis I have spoken.
  6. I was told today that Clinton has offered to help pay for the repairs to the goalpost. Coonhunter you are in denial. Nobody blames the entire city of Clinton for the acts of a few but do you really think Oak Ridge kids would do this? Think about it and move on.
  7. Actually, you are all wrong. Coach Steven's did not call that two point conversion. It was the holder to on his own made that decision and was spoken to about it as he came off the field.
  8. Please remember that the players that you are talking about are high school kids and should be given that consideration.
  9. There will be Big Ed's in the pressbox right around halftime but if you're thinking about saving some for Coach Clark, good luck.
  10. Yes sir, all the games will be archived on Prepradio.com.
  11. Thanks for the plug. They can listen to FM 91.3 or Prepradio.com
  12. Coach Prudden's all-time record at Oak Ridge is 851-151 She has 23 District Championships, 20 Regional Championships, 20 sub-state or sectional titiles, 5 state runner-ups and three State Championships. She also is a huge football fan.
  13. Are you saying Prudden hasn't won the gold ball? Last time I checked she had won 3 at Oak Ridge.
  14. #3 Jakari McClanahan is the receiver that you mentioned. He was voted by his teammates in a recent poll as the hardest worker on the team. As for Ralphael Coffey, he has been slowed by a leg injury as of late and is doubtfull for the Fulton game.
  15. I have been vacationing with the Easter Bunny in Hawaii. A scouting report on this team is tough. They have looked good and bad in the pre-season. They had a bad week against Alcoa and Anderson County but that was two weeks ago. Many things have changed in that time. I think Oak Ridge is solid at QB with Tyler Clark. I believe when Ralphael Coffey returns he will have one of the best play makers in the state to work with. The rest of the receiving corp has talent but limited playing time in the past. Oak Ridge's running game is up in the air too. Although Demarcus Rogers is talented, he has been a receiver for the past two seasons and might not be as durable as some Oak Ridge backs in recent years. Give him a little room and he can go though. The O line should be solid but injuries in the pre-season have hurt their play. The defense will be solid under Coach Miner but injuries and inexperiecne have slowed them too. Depth is a huge factor on both sides of the line as it is at linebacker. Oak Ridge will have a new kicker and punter but Barry Saunders does a great job with the special teams and they will be solid. The schedule is tough and expectations at Oak Ridge put a lot of pressure on the boys. I think it will be key to find a leader and a little more spirit. This is the best I can do.
  16. You're right Ruse.. Scrimmages are just Practice and don't mean a thing.
  17. Either way, all Oak Ridge fans can listen to the games on Prepradio.com and in Oak Ridge on Comcast Channel 15. Since the radio tower is still not fixed, this is the only way to listen to the games so please spread the word. Also please drop a line or do your business at the sponsors listed on the site because they are the reason that Oak Ridge games will be broadcast this season.
  18. What you're saying about Mike Caldwell kind of surprises me since every now and then Mike shows up around town and helps in community things and attends games. He lives in Georgia and I last spoke to him at the basketball Alumni game. He seemed very excited about playing when I contacted him and he did. Mike is one of the greatest guys and players that Oak Ridge has ever produced. Mike came and spoke at the football banquet a few years ago and he did this despite not enjoying to speak in public. Many former players never return to even a game but Mike seems to answer the call when invited. Maybe nobody has ever asked him for money. As for Shawn Summers, his UT career ended on a sour note but I still think of him as the best football player I ever saw play at Oak Ridge. I have on several occasions been at practice when he dropped by despite not living here anymore. This was during the Lussier/Gaddis era though when he had more ties to the coaching staff. Maybe people shouldn't read into everything so much. What does Shawn and the others want from the program now that they are in their 30's and living out of the area? They have our respect and I for one don't believe that anybody in Oak Ridge has turned their backs on them. Oak Ridge football is struggling right now and I don't have an ax to grind with anybody. I do hope that the ship is righted and we don't become just an average football program. David Clary
  19. Oak Ridge knocked off Science Hill way back on November 24 by 18 points 66-48. Is basketball fading in Johnson City or are the fans just keeping quiet about this one? I have heard how much better the Hilltoppers are playing with the exception of their games with Dobyns-Bennett. What must Oak Ridge do to beat them on Monday night in Oak Ridge?
  20. Having watched Oak Ridge all season long in my opinion these two games are really not shockers in terms of them coming from behind. What I think is lost when people see Oak Ridge play for the first time is that their style wears a team down and then when they need it ,they usually have some left in the tank. Just because they don't look as good doing it doesn't mean they aren't a better team. They just do it the way they do it. Bearden was dead tired and Oak Ridge wanted it more.Good luck to them at Dobyns-Bennett.
  21. Sour grapes from a William Blount man?
  22. There is a new rule in place. They are not going to rotate anymore. Next year it will be at West again unless something is changed.
