  1. Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers, they are a part of the game just like weather, refs and fans. Look at the two Maryville - Central games. What would have been the outcome without turnovers? The only exception to the aforementioned factors is that you can control turnovers, somewhat.
  2. 2 questions: 1) Why did he leave in the first place? 2) Why would he go back?
  3. Rebelron, Who is #31 for the red rebels? What are some of his stats?
  4. Not so rebelron.. Yes just like a horse is a horse of course, of course. A sheep is not a sheep. You have cocky sheep (gillyboat don't get anxious), confident sheep and last but by no means not least, you have ignernt sheep. This guy is ignernt You guys are confident(rebelron) Even us haters can differentiate! Don't sell us short!
  5. Anyone feel free to correct me but... I have been told that along with Catlett came a weak strength program. The guy in charge of weights had em all on creatine and they suffered health problems.
  6. I can see the Blount County headlines now, "Lock up your women and children, Swaffy is comin ta town!" This is the absolute worse thing that Heritage can do for it's program. What is the Heritage-SD series record like during the swaffy era? I know coaches at both programs well enough to know that swaffy burned that bridge after his first game with HHS. *** Edited out the personal stuff. **
  7. rebelron....... The title of the thread is, "top underclassmen of your school". After 6 posts on one thread about underclassmen, I think everyone is well aware of maryvilles capabilities. There is no need to down-play another teams capabilities and potential. Let Alcoa have their say about their freshmen and you can have your say (even if it is redundant) about yours. I was responding to Alcoa6 saying that Alcoa's underclassmen were so much better than Maryville's because of what happened in Middle School. If you had read the rest of my post's,You would see that I bragged on Alcoa's underclassmen. I also bragged on William Blount's underclassmen. I wrote that Blount County had a ton of good underclassmen. If you don't like my post's bragging on Maryville then don't read them. I'll read what I likes, and I'll say what I likes with no concern to you or yours. It is good to see a community that supports it's HS football, but........... Keep it in perspective "Winslow", it is just that--> HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL. Whether it is Maryville or TSD, the ramifications are miniscule.
  8. Guys, from what I saw this year Halls didn't run much option. When they did it was the speed option. And about the Lockwood at qb thing................ I know some people at Halls, they say he aint the smartest knife in the drawer (if ya know what I mean), and he throws the football like it is a baseball, ya can't do that. You have to be smart to read the option guy!
  9. the only thing redundant on this thread is a couple of jealous posters trying to give MARYVILLE a hard time . isn't your football season over with ?? go cry me a river . No, I do believe that my team (Louisville) is still playing. I am not trying to give merryville a hard time, I am just making an observation. Just like the observation that Miami will beat U.T. so bad that you will want to change your name (pepVOL)

  11. A legend in his own mind. Again, I don't think they had anyone to throw to or anyone to protect him.
  12. Just remember what happened (or what didn't happen)with Chris and C.J. Leak.
  13. KFL...... There are more variables to throwing the ball than just the qb. From what I saw (3 or 4 games), Halls had neither the receiverS (you need more than one to be effective) or the protection to throw the ball. A competent coach weighs: 1) what he has and doesn't have (as far as talent) 2) what works most often (plays, formations) 3) how other teams defend it i(if 5 out of eight teams in your region have trouble defending the wing-t and 2 out of eight have trouble defending a passing-type offense, then you will most likely run the wing-t regardless) And progresses. PS You can tell that a person is football ignorant when they refer to the option as, "runnin it up th middle".
  14. I heard that Gibbs traded their player for Swafford. Sounds like an even switch to me.
  15. Catman A more assonine statement has yet to be uttered. Let me pose this my feline friend, what if south - doyle beat sevier county? Would that throw a wrench into the workings of the 5A play-off picture? Even if Clinton beat Maryville, They would both have one region loss with maryville winning the tie-breaker due to their win over central.
  16. Brown-coochie, Who is doing your thinking for you? You have picked halls to lose every week< even against clinton>. What do you base your prognostication on? If anything. Or are you just repeating what you have heard?
  17. I am not a fan of any closet in Carter. I heard that BMITH has been sighted coming out of a closet in carter. Good ole Bmith is a "cave tuber" from way back, so I have been told.
  18. John Paul you ignorant.............(SNL fans get the picture) Why oh why must you toot your little horn and take credit for a kid that you claim as finding? What, was he on the road side? Lost in the Smoky Mountains? In a village in the darkest of Peru? Exactly how did you find him? I bet that Joel can't stomach the image of you staggering your portly little caboose onto his practice field, let alone let you give a pregame speech to his #1 tailback. Let it go Louie, you need to be concerned with AV stuff.
  19. Bigboy, From what I have read on this board and heard through the grape vine this was not an isolated incident. I have heard that he had been let go from previous positions due to "transgressions" of a geater magnitude. From what I remember, when he was hired an article was released by the Knoxville newspaper that revealed his coaching record. It was dismal at best. Why was he hired in the first place? Why wasn't he released immediately? Judging from this summer's events with the replacement of the entire administration, it comes down to one thing. Intimidation! Once those guys were replaced, he could no longer intimidate the administration so he got canned.
  20. Boore, Where did Albert Harris' father go to high school?
  21. CoachDG, Not taking anything from the current staff but, I don't think they BUILT it as much as they maintained it. And I ask again, which region would they most likely fit into ? Would it be with Heritage and WB? If so, who would their non-region games be?
  22. In which region would Maryville fit? If they went with Heritage and Willie Blount who would take up their non-region slots? Would they be forced to play more competitive teams in those non-region slots?
  23. Medman, O.K., I went a little too far with the "monkey" thing. But you must admit that there are other D-Cos out there whom do more with what they have. IF you are not blessed with 11 (or more) athletes, you have to make up in film, gameplanning, and the like. I would venture to say that ANYONE would admit that coaching athletic football players is easier than coaching just football players (especially on defense).
  24. Medman, I know EXACTLY what I am talking about. With athletes like he has, he can afford to play man and stuff the box. With the skill players Central has, they shouldn't be scored as much as they have been. Again, you could train a monkey to recognize talent.
