Forrest had to drop out...too many girls sick or hurt....

Let me get this right here....... some parent picks one public over another public for whatever reason....someone is offered a better education worth thousands of dollars.........PLEASE...Just give it up. I heard about privates doing this for years and never thought much about it till a couple of years ago TWO friends from work were offered deals to private schools. One took it and one turned them down. So i stopped thinking it was just sour grapes and unfounded accusations. I can't believe public schools can offer that much to have kids moving around. Our little 1A school has to compete with all the schools public and private and I don't care for cheating by either. We do a darn good job of getting girls ready to play a long time before they get to High School and it shows. And like I said they have taken a step in the right direction for next year there are still things that need to be addressed.

I don't make unfounded accusations, It happens, I have first hand knowledge that it happens and ratting out kids isn't going to help, they have made a first step in fixing this problem and I think there are a lot of things that come together to make a good program. I just don't like hearing about the great private schools that have been skirting the rules for years. A lot of times without the schools knowledge.

Lets not forget the mysterious person that pays tuition for the players a private needs to fill up the holes in the roster. And I don't want to hear "we would never" Thats why the private A's are getting kicked up to AA next year. And its about time.

Well after a close game with Cornersville, Forrest came back in the top of the 7th to pull out the win. So far it looks like these two teams will be fighting it out for the top spot. Forrest is a litlle banged up and Nicole Curtis played through the pain of a blister to pitch the whole game. The girls stepped up and never gave up. Hope to see all the girls back in the game soon. Would like to hear from people that have seen Cascade and Huntland this season. I think Richland is a better team than the scores with Cornersville and Forrest show, they should be better at the end of the season.

Sounds like and what hapened are two different things. Forrest girls where beat up and on the floor as much if not more than the Summertown girls. Summertown has a good team and didn't need any help. It would have been nice to see Forrest play without one arm tied behind their back. One foul in the 1st and one in the third.....they only jacked up the foul count against Summertown at the end of the half and the end of the game when it really didn't matter anymore. Don't want to take anything away from the girls or their coach they are both first class.

I agree #23 was one of the best guards I have seen this year. She should only get better Good Luck next year.

I hear alot about Forrests Freshmen. I would just like to say if you watch the games and see how Forrest plays team ball it is easy to see why they have had such a good season. Gaby (fr)was hot under the basket and Foster (fr)had a great game but Slater(Jr.) was hot too and there were some great moves and passes to set Gaby and Slater up. Mathis(soph) had a great game tonight and was a big reason for putting Collinwood off balance tonight. Dowler (jr) came off the bench put up 7 pts and Dakota (fr) played one of her best games of the year bringing the ball up the court. My baby, Kaitlyn (jr) also played very well. Ayla (fr)did a good job tonight also. There is just one senior and one Sophmore the rest are freshman and Juniors. I was very proud of all the girls tonight and check the box scores on how many different girls scored points. But more important than how good a team they are is what a great group of girls they are off the court. Good Luck Tomorrow Girls!

Both districts play different styles of Basketball with Forrest being more defensive and low scoring. It will boil down to which team can make the other play their game...a low scoring defensive game in Forrests favor a run up and down the floor shoot out would be in Collinwoods favor. The same thing goes for Richland, both these 11A teams are a lot alike. No matter who wins the important thing is Eagleville has the best food in either 11A or 12A!! So everyone grab a loaded tater and get ready to watch some basketball!

My mistake, Mr. Jamie Roper, Forrest and Richland Had three great games this year reminded me of the last few years in Softball. Anyone know about Wayne County and how they match up? I know Forrest has their hands full with Collinwood. Hopefully Forrest and Richland will hang around long enough to play each other again!

Nicole Curtis a Junior will most likely be the main girl on the mound with help from Ashley Schmidt a senior and sophmore Heather Ragsdale. If they stay healthy and work hard Forrest should have a good year.

Come on now, don't be so touchy. Your girls played a great game and deserve their trophy. So great game and tourney for Richland and great season for Forrest. I was just teasing Jamieroper, she has been on the boards talking Richland up all week having a good time. I guess I should have put a LOL and that end of the post. Now is the time to talk up all the 11A teams as they are going to have to face some really good 12A schools. So good luck to Richland, Forrest, Moore County and Cornersville!

OK i will, Forrest is 11A District champs, Richland is the 11A District tournament champs.

Anyone that can say Forrest is the weakest 11A team needs to put down their bong and clear their head. Everyone said Moore County would win the district.... they didn't. Then Forrest couldn't beat Cornersville three times...they did. Now Forrest and Richland are playing in the championship game tonight. They both share something that I think is the main reason those two teams have ended up 1 and 2 for the district and 1 and 2 for the district tourney. Ask yourself who is the MVP of Forrest? Who is the MVP for Richland?......Really hard to come up with one girl. Both teams play TEAM ball. They have both been called weak in this forum but both have came out on top. Should be a great defensive contest tonight and I for one have got my heart pills handy and looking forward to the game. Good Luck to the young ladies on both teams. Go Lady Rockets!

Lady Rockets and the Lady Bulldogs both deserve high fives for a great game tonight. This was a real nail biter and a shame one of the teams had to lose. Good Luck to the Lady Bulldogs Thursday night. The Lady Rockets have been to six overtimes this season one a triple and two doubles and come out on top every time. They play low scoring defensive games so people haven't given them much credit all season. I wouldn't mind seeing them change to high power offense and blow some teams out all these close games are taking a toll on my heart. Love You Lady Rockets!

Hope your right about Cascade I always enjoy good close games. Also would love to see Community and Eagleville come on strong and make district 9A the best 1A district in the state next year.

Yes it does all change next year and Forrest will no longer play in the same district as Cornersville, Richland and Culleoka that have been great rivals. The last few years Richland and Forrest played were some of the best games I've ever seen. and this year with Cornersville coming together should be great too. I hate to see us leave the district. Forrest plays over 40 games a season with tourneys and will play as many AA and AAA schools as they do A schools. That really helps them in their district play, I just hope they keep some of our old friends on the schedule. District 9 Boyd Cascade Community Eagleville Forrest Mid. Don't count Forrest out so fast. If our Miss Curtis steps up and gives us some good work on the mound the Lady Rockets will be at the top like they have been for the last few years. The defense is strong and there is more speed in the starting lineup and a lot of depth in the batting order. And everyone knows Forrest has one of the most disiplined teams in the state you will never see a girl walk on or off the field without a broke leg. And good teamwork is hard to beat. I know the girls at Cornersville and they are a great bunch of ladies and they do have good pitching but if they want to win the district they are going to have to play as a team and battle to the last out to do it. I think Richland will be another good team to watch with some young talent coming up. Forrest, Cornersville and Richland are my preseason picks for the top three teams in the district.

Jamie I know your a big Richland fan But not to have one girl from the district championship team on the Tournament team...................Lets try and stay on the planet earth with predictions dear.

I think any of the top four can be upset in the first round. Whoever doesn't show up ready to battle will fall. Moore County has been up and down this season and if they don't run Bunn up and down the court and let Cascade set up with Bunn under the basket they could very well lose. Simply put will Moore County play their game or Cascades.

Forrest is the district champs in what has been a tight battle all season. All you ever read on here till just a week or so ago has been Moore Co wins everthing, everyone else fight for scraps. Now who will win the Tourney?..... Lot of things can happen but one team keeps winning even when they have four overtime games in a row and win everyone of them. Even when they are down going into the last two minutes they win. They don't give up and play till the end. They are getting good play from their freshman but good play from their upper classman as well with a bench that is always ready to come in and step up when the time calls. I do think that Cornersville played us the hardest even though we won both games they worry me more then any other team in the district. Forrest always seems to find a way to win so I'm sticking with my girls. Cornersville and Moore Co. are both very good but Cornersville is hot at the right time. As for the MVP I couldn't pick one In 11A but would have to say Woodard (Cornersville) and Wilkerson (Huntland) are both very good all around players that work hard on both ends of the court. Lots of other good girls and I don't think I could pick a girl on Forrest for a team MVP because they play team ball and all work together with each doing their part. When one girl is down the others pick her up. I guess that is why they have done so well this year. Good luck to all the young ladies in 11A Play Hard and have fun!

With Richlands loss to Cascade the Lady Rockets have moved into first place all by their lonesome. If you check the scores of the top 6 teams in 11A you can see that anyone can beat anybody else this year. So things should be fun come tourney time. Good Luck to all the young ladies in 11A. Richland takes it 34 - 30. Lady Raiders played a great game and played hard to get the win. Lady Rockets looked a little flat tonight and was beaten at the free throw line. Should be really good games between Forrest, Richland and Moore County and if Cornersville can just turn the corner they could be there come district time. Will be a lot of fun this second half in 11A.

I believe Forrest will win but... easily...I don't think that. Richland is a fine team and this is another big test for the Lady Rockets. Wouldn't be surprised if it is exciting a game as the Cornersville and Page games were. The Lady Rockets play well together and get better each week but have a way to go before they are playing the best BBall they are capable of.

Have to agree Pageman, The food at Eagleville is about the best I've run across. This is the only place we play that my wife doesn't want to eat before she goes.. Love the Baked Potato's. Thank You Eagleville
