  1. Yes it sends it back to head to head with the two 7 win teams. Doesn’t go any further than that.
  2. It’s two weeks before the playoffs...not one. That’s a difference maker.
  3. Injuries? Anyone can be injured at any time in ANY game! Makes no difference who the opponent is. They could have gotten injured against Fulton just the same. I can’t believe I’m having to even say this...it’s common sense!
  4. “Beating their chest”? What does this even mean?? From a neutral observer, this seems like a great game for two nearby schools to schedule, especially when it’s forced to do so quickly. It draws a lot of fan interest, the players will love it, and it should be a great, competitive game! It also will be a perfect prep game for West heading towards the playoffs and a very possible run to Cookeville. I see zero harm. Nothing but positive, especially during a wild and crazy year. Makes total sense. Well done by both schools!!
  5. Not scared of Hillsboro in the least. They are athletic but are not very well coached and are usually very undisciplined. Beat them 39-0 last year in the first round. I’m about fairness. It’s too bad a competitive region does not get the key games in. Again, a TSSAA issue. It’s also happening in the 6A and the 3A regions that have metro teams. It’s just disappointing. But, no, not scared of Hillsboro. Honestly, Hillsboro has the biggest beef anyway. They deserve to have a chance to play for a home game/second seed and won’t get that opportunity. These decisions hurt the kids in the end. Early in the year, I would have agreed with you. Shelbyville was not anything special. But, honestly, they are going to be a tough out in the playoffs! They can run the ball and can score a lot...very athletic! Defense will have to get more consistent. They are very well coached, though, and have improved a ton! With a new staff, a more inexperienced team, and no spring practice or preseason contact scrimmages, it just took them a while to get things rolling like it has many teams this year. I like their team a lot headed to the playoffs.
  6. They should be back...maybe a little short handed. This “contact tracing” junk is nonsense!!!
  7. Not disagreeing. It’s a big overlooked mistake by the TSSAA to not see this coming and be proactive instead of lazy.
  8. Again, it’s not their fault. The TSSAA messed up badly! They should have mandated all region games get played even if it meant replacing some longstanding, traditional rivalries. Metro had six weeks to play five region games so there was time to make sure everybody played everybody (barring any COVID issues of course) and the TSSAA chose to take a backseat and not put this rule in place. Therefore, we’re left with Gallatin not playing Hillsboro or Hillwood, which would be key competitive region contests. Now, they are likely settling to have to play Glencliff (the worst 5A program in the state) instead.
  9. Oh I agree. The point is Hillsboro’s probably the 2nd best team in that region. We may never know. So, instead of playing Gallatin and then Beech the first two rounds. It’s likely gonna be Hillsboro and then Beech, which may be tougher. Such is life in a crazy year! It’s just too bad Gallatin does not play Hillsboro or Hillwood so we all could find out for sure. It is what it is. Puckett will have his team ready for the playoffs regardless. One additional note, Hillsboro plays an offensive minded Hillwood squad this week. Could be interesting. An upset there shakes things up a good bit in that region.
  10. I do not know. Obviously. All I can do is look at the history of the program and the region they are stuck in, which may or may not change next year. I can also look at the roster and see tons of seniors, including virtually all their best players. I’ve admitted I was wrong about a prediction. People are wrong all the time on predictions. I also did not see the dropoff in that region like it’s been, specifically with Blackman and Cookeville. Let’s just leave it at this: the “once in a blue moon” season prediction/comment is absolutely true moving backwards and we will see if it’s true moving forward. If they start making the playoffs annually from here on, I will be wrong! If my prediction is correct, then we’ll all look back at 2020 as a very rare but special season!
  11. Two trains going in shockingly opposite directions it seems. Beech big...42-7.
  12. Any 4A projections out there? Anyone have access to the Tennessean's updated basketball district projections?
  13. I would think Warren County, Coffee County, Shelbyville and Franklin County in a district. They may put Rockvale in there? I'm not sure if Columbia will remain with all of them...seems like way too far from Columbia to Warren County plus Columbia fits better geographically with Summit and Spring Hill, etc.
  14. You made the comment about “living rent free in your head”! It’s not true. I have nothing against them at all. But that is a cocky comment to make! You also insinuated that this is not a “once in a blue moon” season. It absolutely is if the consistency does not last. Why is this controversial? I just speak the truth and look at the facts. I’ve been saying all year to enjoy the season!! You should! It’s a special regular season. I’m waiting for the answers of why it is not a rare season and why this is in some way untruthful?? I’ll be as interested as anyone on how the next two games go...by far the two toughest games of their regular season.
  15. May be close...for a while. Shelbyville is so explosive on offense with athletes all over the place!
  16. All correct. I would think Coach Watson would much rather play Hillwood or Hillsboro, however, in place of Glencliff if that could be worked out. We all realize it is what it is, but I don’t see any benefit to be playing Glencliff right before the playoffs. It’s a wasted week no matter how you cut it. The same can be said for Hillsboro facing Hunters Lane.
  17. I think Riverdale wins as well. Just too many athletes and they’ve played such a tough schedule. I’ll go with 28-17 Warriors.
  18. Where is this game being played at? Should be a good one.
  19. Wow! They’ve won three games straight I believe and they are a first year program. And THAT is what you come with?! I’ve been around high school football for a long time and this is single dumbest comment I’ve ever seen. Most high school players play hard regardless. Mistakes may be made since they’re high school kids, but they usually play hard for their coaches all across this great state and this great country! This is a disgraceful comment and what makes it so disgraceful is doubling down on it. Bad look for you.
  20. West by a ton! Running clock very possible in the second half. 49-14 Rebels.
  21. Gallatin is catching a major break! Period. Why would you upset the apple cart and agree with me? Of course your opinion will be whatever helps your team the most. That’s typically how fandom works in general. I have zero hate or dislike for Gallatin. I have loads of respect for that program and fan base! I just put out the facts and I’ve always been big on fairness. Gallatin did nothing wrong! It was the TSSAA that should have seen all this coming.
  22. I’m a fan of fairness and I admit to that. I also admit life is not fair and this year is crazy!! I’m also willing to admit that no matter who Shelbyville plays it won’t be easy whatsoever. Good teams and good coaches! The 6A region and the 3A region with the metro teams will work out unfairly too because of all this, so I’m actually looking out for everyone in all those regions and the regions they match up with in the playoffs. Just how my mind and personality operate. I also agree that Gallatin did nothing wrong. The TSSAA should have seen all this coming and been proactive. They could have done so and declined.
  23. What does this even mean? What a ridiculous comment to make. Embarrassing!
  24. Understood. Just took a while to figure that out.
