Live in a county that is adjacent to Jackson County. Really feel for the team and the community in Jackson County. Hope things turn around.

So what do you believe is the solution. Until this changes there will probably not be significant change in the results that one sees on the field. What do you think?

Difficult situation. What is the feeling of the community now concerning football being pretty much a year round activity. I know at one time there were some who felt like the kids did not need to be involved in weight training during the summer because Jackson County was a farming community and the kids did not have time for those things. It will take a change in this mind set for things to change at JCHS.

I agree. One cannot compare last year and this year. Different players for both teams even though some remain from last year. I know LA changed their style of play last year following the first few games. More emphasis on the run rather than the pass. They are a much different team than when they played SCHS last year. I am sure SCHS is as well. I have not had the opportunity to see them play. Should be a great game. I think the one that scores the most points wins.

One would wear what one thought would represent ones community with class and dignity. Yes some coaches do wear a tie to a football game. I think it shows dignity and class. But who am I to say?

I would doubt they have a chance. There QB is not bad, but beyond that they are not very good.

The LA game Friday night is definately not a game one would want to use as a predictor of future success. The fact that LA was up 35-0 at the end of the first quarter is not a point to look at in this game. Warren County is a poor team at best. I am not saying LA is not good. I personally think they are good and may be very good. However until they play some meaningful competition one should not consider them anything special. Those things will take care of themselves.

Not intending to make light of the LA victory last night or of your opponent Warren County. However if you are placing much value on your win last night you are in for a rough journey. Your competition was poor at best. One of the poorest teams I have seen in years. I am sure the competition will be much more capable in the very near future that is what you better be concerned with. Again not meaning any disrespect to WC just my observations. I really feel for the community the coaches and most of all the kids at WC.

Danny McCoin was a pretty fair QB. Livingston Academy early 80's.

How is their preparation going? Results of scrimmages. Anyone know anything?

My understanding is that LA won the scrimmage three to one against WC not sure about the other.

LA on Tuesday 8-10-04 around 3:30. This may be a three way with Gordonsville. Not sure about the last part.

Wormy. It could be this statement that others are talking about: "Well, I have something to say about that incredible block Katrina Beechboard made on Childress. Childress may be hurt but I believe her pride is more hurt than her actual injury. I mean who would wanna get up after someone had stuffed you like that. I would have layed there too like she did!!" This is a very poor way to express an opinion concernig a blocked shot. It is also in poor taste. If this the way you chooses to express your self at least do not let anyone know what school you support. It not only affects the perception people have of you but of the decent and respectful fans as well. Remember the saying "If you do not have anything good to say about someone do not say anything " would apply in this instance.

The problem at Livingston is not at the High School level. It has been at the elementary level. There was a period when the coaching was not very good at that level. This has hurt in the area of fundamentals and understandimg of the game. In the last couple of years the administration of the school system has begun to address this issue. It will take time for the county to produce quality players as they did a few years ago. I do not mean this to sound as if the players at LA are not good quality players. Just did not have the advantage of really good caoching when young in some instances.

Is anyone opening in week 0 and playing in a jamboree? Does anyone have an opening for their jamboree?

I am not real sure where I will be next year. I have a few options. Yes one of those does have the acronym SHS. Where is Coach Murray now. I would like to touch base with him. I have not talked to him in a while.

Is this the same Scott Murray that played at Smith County during the late 80's? If so he would be a great choice for this position. I had the opportunity to work with Coach Murray for two years at Smith County. He knows the game and how to get the most out of the young men he coaches. GOOD LUCK Scott!!
