  1. Where did Jurick come from? Did he move here in middle school? Just curious.
  2. He was at the Temple game last week in all green talking to the other coaches on the sidelines. I think your just perpetuating rumors. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.
  3. I would think a school that has Ted Turner as an alum could get this done... but maybe they would rather have people in the stands than sittin on their couch. Don't think $$ is an issue for Brentwood and McCallie.
  4. why do people complain about them. If you don't like them either don't play or don't go. Official season starts next Monday but before that, there are some great games to go to this week. You don't have to play them. TSSAA gets 80% for the Hall of Fame program... big deal.
  5. I believe TSSAA gives you the option of counting it or not. Who really cares if they count it. Records don't count in the post-season with the exception of district record for tournaments.
  6. If their talent didn't show last night, how did you lose? Skogen did push off on the one play by the TC sideline. Skogen came up with the big plays when he needed to. He had a couple of catches with three guys on him. Joey is a monster for 5'9" or whatever he his. Trousdale did a good job limiting Josh Smith. That did surprise me.
  7. leave it the way it is. Most teams are done and didn't miss any or very little basketball. Those basketball teams that have football players still playing just move on without them. There really isn't all that much overlap for MOST of the teams, just a few. AAU and stuff like that is a different story.
  8. They could play at McCallie. Only a half a mile from Temple.
  9. I think its going to be all green. Better call the Pope.
  10. statisticians need some training. A ref is not by default make a good statistician. This has always bothered me at the state tournaments. The guy at GPS was good yesterday but he was a coach not an official. Need at least some consistancy between the venues.
  11. I bet the Riverdale kids will remember the McCallie game alot long than a 49-0 win over whoever even though they lost. When they are 30 years old, it will be a great memory. I think big time coaches/programs want to play in big time games regardless of winning and losing.

  13. Brentwood 1 GPS 0 in overtime-- Final
  14. did Fritsl Butler get hurt in the last GPS-Baylor game? Is she out for the state tournament?

    A/AA Regions

it was a sarcastic comment based on what hamlet posted a few posts back. Don't let the private/public debate fuel your comments. CCS is not a giant... they got beat by a better TEAM. (although CCS may argue they are better) my point is that there are publics that can compete regardless of the private school haters. More than likely a private school will win the Class A/AA state but the publics are not inferior as some argue. Good luck to Sweetwater. If they loose tonight, they will likely make a run to the semifinals or even finals.
  16. I feel sorry for that horse... just keeps takin a beatin.

    A/AA Regions

The little rural school with only a couple of good players beat the mighty GIANT CCS 1-0 on Tuesday. Seems to be fair.
  18. I think Notre Dame, CCS and Boyd have the largest DI private school enrollment in Chattanooga. TSSAA lists Notre Dame at 570, boyd at 305 and CCS at 370. They would need to have about 600 to be in Class AAA with the multiplier. It may be different with A/AA and AAA.
  19. 1. Tn Temple 2. Grace 3. CSAS 4. S. Pittsburg 5. Silverdale 6. Lookout Valley 7. CCA 8. Whitwell 9. 21st Century 10. Sale Creek
  20. according to the chattanoogan.com bracket which team on the right side is the strongest. The way I see it, the region three runner up has a cake walk to the semifinals or even the championship. No offense to the teams on the other side, just looking at previous performances. I guess they will meet some of the other runner up teams from region 5 and region 2. (assuming they win on Saturday)
  21. Nice pick McMinn Co. 1 Ooltewah 0
  22. Looks like there is a slight change in the bracket Region 6 used to say- Middle TN Christian vs Columbia Academy now it is- Columbia vs Forrest it may not change anything for most people but it might
  23. Region Semifinals: FRA DCA CCS ND Madison McNairy Knox Catholic CAK USJ Jackson Christian Richland Columbia Academy Friendship Christian Station Camp Pigeon Forge Chuckey-Doak Winners: FRA ND Madison Knox Catholic USJ CA Station Camp Chuckey-Doak
  24. Heard this game may be played at Finley? Anyone know if that is true. This would be a great disadvantage to Grace but it would be much more fun than at Grace.
