  1. Y'all must have some unfair advantage and need to be multipied.
  2. Funny thing 81% who enter the Big Ones contest is picking Goodpasture but everyone on here is picking Riverside.
  3. You are right this was a tough region. In week 10 if East Robertson had lost to DCA and CPA won agaist Goodpasture there would have been a 4 way tie for first with DCA getting the 1 seed on overall record. After seening the top four play the order of finish is pretty close to how the region stacks up in talent.
  4. They jump up, they jump down. I think it's called dodge ball. One think for sure there is no 1/2A ball so they can't jump any lower.
  5. I'll have to agree. Huntington dominated a good Lipscomb team. Milan could have been there too.
  6. I beleive people said that it was unchristian like for a faith based school to run up the score on another team. The standards of opinions seem to change when a freshman for Ezell throw passes late but that does not apply here I guess.
  7. At the time the re-alignment was set I thought East Robertson got a raw deal and would't compete with the privates moving up. How dumb was I. Congrats on a great year.
  8. Once again you imply that the privates do not follow the rules. The privates are under greater scrutiny by the TSSAA than the publics. TSSAA has to do this to satisfy the private hate mongers such as yourself.
  9. Nobody wants a small school beating the larger school? Hogwash. I think it is great when a small school takes down a giant. Hoosiers ring a bell. Example we love to beat Soddy in softball, we just don't do it very often, first time ever in 2003. I do not think there are any private schools that are just out to beat the publics. I think they are out there to beat everyone. They all count don't they. If you aren't trying to win every game you aren't a quality program. I am for a playoff split. Not a regular season split. Most public supporters could live with that. You could not. You think there is a conspiracy theory. The fact is there will always be dominant programs in all sports. If you remove the privates, there will be a public school in every division that will come out on top year end and year out. There is one in your back yard in South Pitt. Look at Riverdale. Riverdale and Franklin were the major players in getting the TSSAA to vote the aid schools into a seperate division. Once that occured Riverdale has ruled the roost. Once there is a total split there will be two or three programs in A and AA that will take the majority of the championships in every sport. What do you do then? Well the only answer is MERIT. And then a little old 350 school David may just beat the Goliath.
  10. I do not think that recruiting is the issue at all because it is not generic to the just the private schools. Recruiting occurs in public as well as private, possibly more so for athletics. Privates have to recruit a full student body just to stay in business, publics don't recruit spelling bee champions.
  11. I think that the blame game on the TSSAA needs to be addressed. First of all the employees of the TSSAA are not the rule makers, they are the rule enforcers. The rule makers are the legislative body made up of mostly public school administrators. It is not the staff of the TSSAA that decided for the multiplier and they are catching all the flack. They have nothing against private schools. Menees' kids went to a private school. His daughters were good athletes for their school. Carter I do not feel supports a split of anykind but he has govern the organization by the rules that participating schools establish. Dont't wish for something that would have a very negative impact on High School sports like a seperate organization for privates. I would hate to think that some of the rivalries of public vs private schools in some sports would no longer be allowed to be played. How about Boyd Buchanon vs Soddy Daisy in softball as a game not allowed?
  12. Still to thick with just 2 subforums. Had to go 3 pages to find and read a thread about an extremily important 2A game. Suggestions: 1. Divide into separate subforums for each class. 2. Use a 1.8 multiplier if a subforum gets too many hits moving it up only one forum using the no 2 class jump rule. 3. Move this thread to the puplic private board.
  13. You are talking about Terry Harris I think. His father was Doug and worked at Genesco, not a football coach.
  14. I also went to Dalewood, class of 65 . Did Bill Harris have a son named Tommy? He was a Litton player that also ended up at Stratford but did not play after the move. Stratford was a great neighborhood school in the day. The 1972 team was great but I don't think they were as strong as the Mike Jones era of teams.
  15. Suprisingly no one went to Maplewood although it was the closest school (imagine that Metro making a logical desicion). Most went to Stratford: K. Chinaware Temple, RB; B. Rust, QB; M. Holt, RB; F. Keyes RB; B Crane, DE and TE; C. Hall, OL; Madison got a good QB and punter in D. Mundy, M. Spurlock LB iI don't know; None went to East. Best girls basketball player went to North, D. Bumpus.
  16. The last graduating class of Isaac Litton 1971- TE
  17. But you have to get permission to go out of state.
  18. Gates in your area may be different than in Middle TN. We do not travel that well, we do not fill our stands at home when in the past played a Stewart Co. or Westmoreland. Stewart Co. brought all of 50 fans to a home game against us. Bring in a DCA or Ezell and the place is backed. Our fans don't come out to see the games against area publics. It doesn't happen. Don't say I'm wrong about our gates, I work the gate and know. South Pitt is a team with a following. They will always bring a crowd. Did you fill the stands when you played at S. Pitt? We have a significantly larger number of smaller privates than in the Chattanooga area and we would not have the travel issues. Our Softball/baseball disitrict actually didn't have a single public school. Add in all the D2 privates and we have enough to have 2-3 districts in the Davison County and surrounding counties. I bet you have enough privates in Chattanooga to have a very strong district/region if all split. You cannot compare the past 20 years to the trend. It just isn't a true reflection of the emphasis on athletics that has surfaced at the privates. In the past 5 years there has been a rise in the interest in athletics as a whole in the privates. Success in one has spread to the others who now have to keep up with the Jones. Successful athletic programs are free advertisement for the privates, If you get a lot of press in the sports pages a dad with a 10 year old child who he throws ball with in the evenings reads the sports and bam, that's where he sends his kid.
  19. I do not want a private withdrawl from the TSSAA!! Bad idea. There would be a ban instituted by the TSSAA from the publics playing non-district games(or non-region in football) during the regular season against non-TSSAA members. The split would just involve the playoff season.
  20. I support a private and support a COMPLETE split for a variety of reasons, not just the very real advantages that the 1A and 2A privates have over their counterpart publics. How is this for an intelligent comeback: State 1A champions team by zip code Pitchers: 37115, 37172, 37080 Catcher: 37076 1st: 37075 2nd: 37138 SS: 37115 3rd: 37115 LF: 37080 CF: 37072 RF: 37115 Team they beat in the first round of region: 37101 A little larger population pool to draw from. Private schools exist for a very good reason in the large metro areas. We made the private decision based on the fact that we sought a small school environment verses a large comprehensive school with 2,000 students. We choose a faith based school where prayer and bible was encouraged not hidden. We choose a school within walking distance verses riding a bus to school. (apparently from the above zip codes not everyone had that reason in mind). If there is a complete split there would be overall better gates for both public and private schools. When ABC private plays DEF private there is a higher level of fan/student body interest and bigger crowds. When ABC private goes to Smith County they just don't bring the fans. When Smith plays Trousdale the stands are packed. There are natural rivalries out there in playing like schools that just do not exist in private vs public for the most part. If there is a complete split there would be competetively aligned reagions that would allow a minimum of travel for privates as well as publics.
  21. OWLtwan, haven't you learned by now not to argue with anyone from Wilson Co? There heads are as hard as the rocks they call soil.
  22. I forgot about the hat, plus this guy has more teeth than you.
  23. ERA, isn't that a picture of Dennis at his 2005 family reunion?
