  1. have played at three of these and they are all atleast 300 down the lines and 330 in center I was referring to parks shorter than these
  2. NCS swept McEwen yesterday 14-1 and 8-1. ELand CA split 7-6 for C on Monday and 9-1 yesterday for East Lit... the standing Sare as of right now 1 NCS 9-3 wins over JB, ER (2), McEwen (2), EL (2), and CA (2) 2 JBS 9-3 wins over NCS, ER, WHH, HC (2), CA (2), McEwen (2) 3 ER 8-4 wins over JB, WHH (2),HC (2), CA, EL (2) 4 WHH 7-5 wins over NCS (2), JB, HC, McEwen, EL (2) 5 HC 5-7 wins over WHH, CA, EL, McEwen (2) 6 CA 4-8 wins over ER, HC, EL, McEwen 7 McE 3-9 wins over CA, WHH, EL 8 EL 3-9 wins over CA, McEwen, HC and yes ERBaseball25 NCS controls there own destiny this week vs Houston County the Matchups are Jo Byrns-East Literature, East Robertson-McEwen, WH-Heritage-Clarksville Academy
  3. Tuck .... you get the third place tie settled first since East swept Heritage they are 3 and WHH is 4 .... since both JB and NCS split you then slide 3rd place which would be East, and since NCS swpet East and JB went 1-1 vs East ... NCS ges the 1 seed This is all asuming East and Heritage tie for third, and also in case of three way tie with JBS, NCS, and East Robertson .. the seeds would remain same because of head to head records among the three (NCS 3-1, JBS 2-2, ER 1-3) the seeds would be 1 NCS 8 East Lit 4 WH-Heritage 5 Houston County 2 Jo Byrns 7 McEwen 3 ER 6 CA Interesting note .... Jo Byrns only team in district to beat each team in the district at least once (with exception of East Lit who they play next mon-tues)
  4. White House Heritage says 295 down the lines and 305 in center ... but there is no way that its deeper in center than down the lines

    Field size

I thought when I was in high school playing on a field with with the fence size of 310 and 315 down the lines 330 in the gaps and 340 in center was short .... but after seeing some fields that are not even 300 in center the TSSAA has to mandate something. I think the TSSAA should step and and say atleast 300 down the lines and 330 in center. if your school has to play at city park and the fences are not regulation you must move your games or play all away games.
  6. ok if you want to complain about a short field ... NCS is not much bigger than JBS, I think they are both too short and I agree with the point ERBaseball25 said about pitching in that park .... but why not use Shelby ... big field, nice field, has lights ... when i played in this district 10-plus ago we played at such places as Vandy, Vol State, APSU, and Aquinas ..... and yes Goodpasture and Davidson were in the district then, but no one else complained, because it gave players an oppotunity to play on college field, and for some it was the only time they would. And as for comment about coach Anderson, yes he does have a swagger and I respect him as a coach, but he isnt coaching anymore. So if he wants to come to games and cheer for his son, I have no problem with it, but when he begin to curse opposing players while they are in the field thats just classless. But I do think that NCS is a better coached team with Coach Frutchemeyer, he played at Belmont and alot of great high school coaches have come through that program and he is another one on the rise.
  7. Houston County swept 10-2, and 6-4 over McEwen. From ERBaseball 25 "Ha ha Tuck yall ain't hosting nothing for a while...i would almost say just let NCS host it every year, i mean they have the nicest field in the district and its not to bad of a drive for anybody, its kind of central..." And no you dont want the district tournament at NCS for 2 reasons ..... 1. Chuck Anderson will get his umpires that he knows that favor NCS 2. NCS field is not the nicest in the district Shelby is and it is also deep, I have always thought you should play district tournaments at a neutral site ... if your going to use Houston County, why not try APSU
  8. What about Goodpasture since 1994 4 State Titles (95, 97, 99, 04) 1 State Runner Up (94) 3 State Semi-finals (03, 05, 06) 5 State Quarter-Finals (96, 98, 00, 01, 02) 13 District Championships 13 District Tournament Titles 13 Region Tournament Titles Post season record: 94-21 82.1% Overall Record: 390-128 75. %
  9. I was disgusted the way the Goodpasture guys played, they played like they hope to win, but would get up after play and get in a player from Alcoa's face and say something, very unclassy .. but not unusual for Goodpasture over the years .... they have been known for late hits, unsportsmanlike conduct fouls, and personal fouls .... and majority of this started in 2003 the year Coach Holloway ( the former defensive coordinator) left. As an assistant coach after coaching against Goodpasture this year and seeing them play CPA in the playoffs, their playcalling perplexed me ..... All we heard all year was how much faster and stronger they were ..... well they were whipped by a smaller team on both sides of the line, and were no where close to the speed of Alcoa .... I was also surprised that Cunningham and Goodloe never touched the ball ( I dont know why they didnt), and Harris didnt seem to get carries untill the game was 17-3, I am not saying Medley, Lovell, or Mayes arent good backs ..... but I didnt see the normal rotation that they use .... Also another fact that has escaped everyone's mind .... In games against touch competition this year (JPII, DL, CPA (2), and Milan) the Cougars pass defense was exploited , and Alcoa did the same thing those teams did and they were also able to slow down their running game Goodpasture is now 0-3 in title games when coming in unbeaten 1978, 1996, and 2006. What is next year like? How much longer will Martin stay? Who takes over whenever he does decide to leave?
  10. 1A - Jackson Christian 31, Friendship Christian 28 2A - Alcoa 45, Goodpasture 34 3A - Fulton 32, Lipscomb 14 4A - Hillsboro 27, Maryville 21 5A - Smyrna 28, Ravenwood 24
  11. All schools (public and private) recruit ..... Have you not seen the big sign that faces I-65 .... that is recruiting ... now before you get all mad and angry I went to GP, and no I dont think any of the coaches or previous coaches went out in the city looking for kids or anything like that. But you cant say you dont recruit students, and some of those students are athletes ....... Now back the issue at hand .... will the fact that GP has lost to Milan twice ( 12 and 13 years ago) have affect on this game .. nope ... but the one thing everyone is forgetting is the travel ... I know is just 30 minutes north of jackson ... but with thanksgiving and everything not a confomtable 3 hour bus trip... trust me my senior year we went to Huntingdon for the semis ....and eaked out a 14-6 win ...... now all that being said .... I think Milan takes this one Milan 20 GP 17
  12. People are forgetting the history between these two teams ..... They met in the second round of the playoffs in 1993 and 1994 ... with Milan shutting out GP 34-0, and 28-0 respectively both games were played at Milan ..... I was there I actually played three plays in the second half for GP before getting a concussion. Have not seen Milan this year, but have coached against GP and seen them play last week against CPA ...... This game should be a dandy "our fastest player, and he's the fastest player i have seen all year (chased down Golden Tate) is benjamin cunningham #24 for us. i would say that he runs a mid 4.4 and he is by far our fastest player and probably close to tops in state (fastest i have ever seen at goodpasture, yes faster than marcus buggs or maurice haynes) - give me a little respect please by checking out the numbers at the link and then realize why a 4.5 is fast" After seeing this quote and playing with Maurice ... I dont believe this to be accurate, I have seen this kid play and while he might run a faster 40 than Maurice, but his in-game speed is not a fast as Haynes or Buggs ........ Cunningham is a terrific talent and good player .... but the quote above is inaccurate .... Good Luck to both teams ..... I will be in Carthage watching Smith County and Alcoa

  15. Station Camp needs to expand its offense. Randell Toney is a very good running back but good teams ( i.e Pearl Cohn, Howard, Meigs County, Fulton, and Knox Catholic) know how to shut a back like that down .... use the fullback more than 7 times a game, use #24 some, use #21 ( he was the only kid to get outside on Pearl Cohn and returned a Ko for a TD) ... When Toney is getting stopped use other options, balance will be the key for the Bison in the playoffs
  16. The only that disagree with you Limbaugh is .. I think 8 teams should be in the state tournament .... ... play like it is now ... tues-fri at 4 sites ..... for example AAA @ MTSU Tues 12:00 Franklin vs Riverdale 2:30 Bartlett vs Science Hill 5:30 Collierville vs Ooltewah 8:00 Farragut vs Ravenwood Weds 12:00 Riverdale vs Science Hill 2:30 Ooltewah vs Ravenwood 5:30 Franklin vs Bartlett 8:00 Collierville vs Farragut Thurs 12:00 Science Hill vs Franklin 2:30 Farragut vs Ravenwood 5:30 Bartlett vs Franklin 8:00 Collierville vs Farragut Fri 12:00 Franklin vs Bartlett 3:00 Farragut vs Collierville Best of three title series Sat 11:00 Class A Title game 1 1:30 Class AA Title Game 1 4:00 Division II Game 1 6:30 Class AAA Title Game 1 Sun 12:00 Class A Title Game 2 2:30 Class AA Title Game 2 5:00 Division II Title Game 2 7:30 Class AAA Title Game 2 Mon Title Game 3 if neccessary
  17. My fault for leaving Liles off ... momentary lapse do to watching about 40 baseball/softball games in 5 days .... I say he should be on the team ... replace Freeman with Liles ... but both had a heck of a state tournament
  18. They stopped giving all-tournament and MVP awards when the Spring Fling went to 8 teams in 2003 ... but if they still gave them out .... Class A - Drew Hayes (2-0, and a save, 19 K's in 14.2 inning pitched ) Class AA - Tyler Mathis (2-0, 12K's, in 14.0 innings also drove in 5 runs while going 9-20) Class AAA - Rob Catapano (2-0, with 20 K's allowed just 5 hits with 14 innings pitched) Division II - Charlie Tidwell (2-0, and a save, 18 K's pitched 17 innings) Pitching leads the way to state title for teams All-Tournament Teams (Teams have to reach final four) Class A P- John Ivie P-Ben Skelley INF-John Laughley INF-Peyton Pratt INF-Drew Hayes INF- Glen Smith OF-Mikie Minor OF-Jeremy Lamb OF-Brice Preistley DH- Jake Mason C-Daniel Albarran Class AA P-Tyler Mathis P-Clayton Gant INF-Tyler Cannon INF-Gunter Delashmit INF-Preston Overbey INF-Spencer Nelson OF-Will Glenn OF- Joshua Posey OF- Dustin Dover DH-Brandon Elzie C-Joe Freeman Class AAA P-Rob Catapano P-Max Craven INF-David Reynolds INF-Eric Berryman INF-Barton Ivy INF-Matt Danger OF-Chip Eskew OF-Steve Liddle OF-Chaz Pace DH-Kris Bramlett C- Ty Nelson Division II P-Charlie Tidwell P-Matt Packer INF-Matt Ridings INF-Zeth Stone INF-Josh Shelton INF-Trey Dyer OF-Seth Walker OF-Michael Brown OF-Tery Moon DH-Michael Elliott C-Logan Hostettler Just my opionion ..... this is not offical
  19. Last year in memphis the box scores for baseball were very spotty and only AAA had all games with box scores .. this year it has improved but not like it was in 2004 .. this is a disgrace by the TSSAA to the kids that play in the state tournament
  20. f Summertown can win its sectional game, then we are assured of something happening in single A that hasn't happened in 8 yrs.... a public school winning the championship. The multiplier system appears to have given public schools a better chance of advancing... That being said....predictions on the single A champion? All of you public school people got your wish ... a watered down state tournament
  21. Davidson Academy won the invitational .. beating FACS 10-0 in the finals .....
  22. Tuck you think your the bomb you are horrible!!!! You can't walk and chew gum at the same time.. your swing is so so terrible ... you pull so far out in front .. your lucky to hit the ball at all much less a home run .. like you think you hit every time
