  1. Not was he was asked to do, but what he was told to do.
  2. Bixenman is only doing what the Chairman of the Board tells him to do. This guy they hired isn't in it for the long haul anywhere he goes.
  3. David do you have a complete schedule for the Grand Slam Tournament?

  9. He should be paid more than the football coach, he has won more games this season then they have in in the last 8 combined. I understand that football in their division is more competitive than football. I think the the previous person was saying that the assistant coach/athletic director who son has started since a freshman, and to be honest she should have started then. But I am sure the familiarity between the two helped Parker. Also by saying he was offered a contract does not mean he was not forced out. If the administration knew he would not accept a pay cut of a certain percentage and they offered that then that is forcing someone out. That happens in the real world everyday.
  10. This topic is the reason I think the T$$AA needs to look at their post season baseball structure. Keeps the District Tournament Double Elimination, but make the Region a 4-team Double Elimination, Top 2 Go to Sectionals Best of 3, Then State needs to be pushed back and start on Wednesday and End on Saturday. Also I would shorten the regular season by 1 week and put in at least a 2 day rest period for pitchers that pitch more than 50 pitches. I know pitch count is hard to monitor, but not impossible.
  11. Why was he fired? He has won there and turned them into a state tournament team each season. Kinda strange to me, but that school has never really had stability since has been built. 3 Headmasters 5 Athletic Directors 4 Football Coaches, 4 Girls BBall Coaches, Now 4 Boys BBall Coaches, Now 3 Baseball Coaches, Softball has been the only constant since 2003.
  12. Well I played for Coach Martin so I am little biased, but you could not play for a better coach.
  13. First of all Goodpasture gives work study and has since the early 1990's. All work study is a loophole in the financial aid rule that has now been closed. I would assume they go to Division II, but remember the first time they went it did not work out too good. Also just look at the faculty turnover not just coaches that has changed since RP took over. I understand he wants to do things his way, but you also need to keep whats still working. I am an alumni of the school, played 3 sports there and even interviewed for the job when Martin was let go. I can tell you that he is good man, but I don't agree with his way of running the school. I know the academics were strong and most of sports were strong (basketball had fallen on hard times). So the changes were not needed, the only mistake that was made was the Chas Parrish hire as girls basketball coach. Football is on a down turn, so is softball, those are two once proud programs with great traditions. Baseball could be following that same path.
  14. Looks like I was right on the money ... Coach Carlton was promoted to head baseball coach, excuse Dr. Charlton ....... no interviews took place Dr Rummage made the hire not the new AD
  15. The job will Jason Charlton's. He was coach there up until 2010, and he came back in 2012 as middle school principal.
  16. But only the top 4 from each region qualify, not all teams qualify
  17. After reading both of these I think all districts should be set up as 3-game series ... right now only a couple of them do that, but I think that would be an effective way to build your pitching staff. It may be the end to some of these tournaments but really you should not play more than 30 regular season games anyway. Also with more and more schools now having lights you can play 1 on monday or tuesday and play 2 on tuesday or wednesday still occasionally play a tournament here or there. And also instead of having a district tournament, play the season a week longer and have a 8-team double elimnation region tournament ...... play in games to get to 8 obviously with in each district. And then sectional 2 out of 3 so using David's example of 7-AAA and 8-AAA play in games 7-AAA 2 Siegel 4 7 Oakland 5 3 Smyrna 8 6 Stewarts Creek 1 4 LaVergne 2 5 Blackman 3 8-AAA 6 Lincoln 2 7 Coffee 3 4 Tullahoma 2 5 Shelbyville 1 3 Franklin Co 2 7 Coffee Co 0 Tournament 8-1 Riverdale 7-4 Tullahoma 7-2 Lawrence Co 8-3 Smyrna 7-1 Columbia 8-4 Blackman (replaces LaVergne) 8-2 Oakland (replaces Siegel) 7-3 Franklin Co
  18. I injured my arm in college my second year. I went from being a starter every 5-6 days in high school and summer ball. to being an everyday reliever in college. Now I will admit the injury was fault on my end because I did not take care of my arm at any point in my career and that is my fault because I wanted pitch everyday
