That is great. I know Spencer's dad is really proud. I have watch him since he was 7 years old and Knew he was going to be a good one. Hope he gets to go on in college.

Joe can't even spell Honduras, much less find his way home. He can't find his way home from Ziggy's.

I'll add my 2 cents. Glad she is gone. She is not a good coach. If we can now find a girls coach, we will be OK.

When I started this thread, I didn't know Joe was so popular. I guess the town drunk ( like Otis on Andy Griffith ) is always well known. Poor Joe, he now has a black eye from trying to wrestle with the high school kids. Glory days are over, Joe. Give it up and let Dan take over...please before you get hurt bad...BTW, thanks to you guys for helping me diss on Joe.

Do you know where Joe Waddell is? I heard he was sent to Moccasin Bend and they wont give him any sharp objects.

Rabbitt, your list is pretty good, but your post was at 1:33 p.m....Get a job or go to school or wrestling practice or something.....just kidding. Do you think the mighty Trojans have any chance to beat Bradley at the duals? Steve will have to shuffle the lineup some like he did 2 years ago.

Alwaysfaithful is right.....we are too far away to see things to diss a ref. Also, I did not see the "wide side of the mat". The only thing I saw was the Fuller/Cordell match at the end. I dont think any one noticed that the clock may have expired before the 2 seconds count. It was really loud at that point and when I looked up, it was already at 0. But, it was so close, you cant say it was right or wrong either way. Walkenvol, I saw where Spencer bumped up and won. Glad you guys beat Baylor. You know when you beat them you have done well. I hope Spencer gets a chance to wrestle the next 4 years. I have kept up with him and the others that my son used to battle. He is a great kid and I know you are proud.

Wrestling Arena. Right now we only have 1 gym with another being built. However, I believe we will still be at the arena when it is complete. You know the old saying, "The most beautiful sight on a basketball floor, is wrestling mats from door to door!!"

Deepball, I guess as a true SD fan ( since the late 50's BTW and I dont think you or anyone else on here can match that ) I have to accept the fact that Weathers will be the coach. From The late great Harland Burnett to Tom Weathers, I have been there and will continue, even if I dont like what goes on. I even suffered thru the 80's when the total wins were the same as one year of the 90's. Yes, I will still support the program no matter what. But a mistake was made and you will agree that Scott Smith should have been given the chance.

mtn, yeah I know "Joe Mama" very well. I hate to admit it, but he is a pretty good guy. We room together on trips and he snores like there is no tomorrow. You must know him pretty well also, since you know he could not wrestle. You from Baylor or Cleveland?

Dan Waddell is a freshman and is going to be very good. Saying this in spite of his father. His mother is a jewell, but poor old Joe could not wrestle in high school, college, or in the living room floor. Go Dan, you can already beat up your dad......BTW, Joe can't sell insurance either...LOL

As I said on another thread, the ONLY way SD could win this game is if Ben Parker played. He is confined to Moccasin Bend and cant have any sharp objects....He was 6'5" 240 and ran a 4.1 40yd.

The only way SD could beat DB would be if Ben Parker could play. He was such a stud. Unbelievable speed, balance, size. Had it all, but last I heard, he was in a mental institution. Along with Slater, Shipley and Cox.

Since Stan Crawley left, the local sports coverage has gone to pot. Basically, it stinks. I watch ESPN for national stuff and I bet everybody else does too. I want lots and lots of local sports.

Rabbitt, are you going to be teaching there? If so, what? 15 kids out for wrestling? They were champs year after year until Glen gave it up. Always had 50 kids out. What is the deal? Cant be just the coach. AND, is it FOR SURE that you will be there???.....Walkenvol, congrats to Spencer!!!! I am sure you are very proud. He is a fine young man. (wish you had moved to SD). Will he wrestle at UTC or anywhere?

I have known John since he was a runt trying to play baseball. Thank God he stuck with the mat, he was a horrible baseballer. But, there is not a kid in the world who worked harder.. Not a kid in the world who hates to lose as much as John. He would get PO'ed after a 7 yr old baseball game if we lost. He has always been that way. NO ONE wants it more and that is what it takes to be a champ. He may be a little cocky so I'll talk to him, but you gotta be a little cocky or you start questioning yourself. I have a bet on you John. Better not let me down.

Parkdog, you hit the nail on the head. It even got to defense vs offense( you know, all the fumbles ). Anyway, coach Ryan does know what he is doing. For all the morons out there, why are you not coaching on the sidelines instead of BS that is spewed from your mouths? May just be that you are not smart enough. Park, how is the UTC experience?

Walkenvol, this is Joel Slater's dad. Thanks for asking about him. He decided to devote all his time on football and now has offers to play in college. He did feel funny last year when 1 kid won the state and 3 others placed that he always used to beat. I sure miss wrestling though and go watch when I can. Shipley has a good chance to place in the state I think, in spite of taking off a year. I have been keeping up with Spencer, I hope he has another great year. By the way, Joel almost came back for his senior year, but was afraid he'd embarrass himself. I wish Steve would have proded him a little more. [Edited by mrsoddydaisy on 1-7-03 8:29P]
