I saw her pitch in summer ball and her team won the state three times that I know of, with her pitching..She now pitches at East Tennesse State. Her Lady Hurricane team finished as the top Tennessee team in the 14-U ASA nationals in 1995 when they were in Chattanooga, they also finished 5th in the NSA Nationals in 16-U in 1997....do you need more....the dog howls.................

While many of those listed have been from Nashville, I will list some I have seen in Chattanooga over the years who were pretty good. There are others, I'm sure.... A student who is playing for school A would be immediately eligible at school B if the custodian and child made a bona fide change of residence and school( files a transfer Form-© with the TSSAA. A student could also become immediately eligible if the parents become legally separated, which was reported to have happened with several players on a baseball team in Memphis a couple of years ago. Although I have not read the TSSAA rules in a year or two, I remember nothing about a 20 day rule. the dog howls........ by the way , if Lebron moves to Martin , I'm sure his Hummer can be repaired locally with some duct tape and baling wire, it works for everything else. Coach Simmons still teaches at Seq Co High and is the bowling "coach", the new softball coach is Dale Millsaps. Coach Simmons son is playing baseball at Motlow and I would guess that he wants to watch him in the Spring. As far as players , I would say that the pitching in the Valley could be down a little with the loss of pitchers from Sequatchie, Whitwell and Bledsoe who all signed with colege programs. Sarah at Marion will be one of the top pitchers in the valley along with the girl from Whitwell. Helm at SP is very fast and talented and Bledsoe's two best hitters will probably be Burton-© and Everett-(LF). At Sequatchie, Barker-©, will probably be the best player. I'm sure I'm leaving out some..the dog howls... PIRATEDAD..you are right, the water just tastes better in the valley.....

Anthony Oggs was a great tailback and kicker for the Wildcats. They had a pretty good quarterback named Kippy Brown of UTK and NFL coaching fame. Their defense in 1972 only allowed 27 points, 6 to Meigs and 21 to South Pittsburg, and the remainder of their games were shutouts.1970 Runnerup and 1971 and 1972 State Champions lost the 1970 game to TPS of Nashville. Lost a regular season game in 1969 to South Pittsburg and then South Pittsburg won the state. South Pittsburg only lost 4 games in Ogg's four years and three of those were to Sweetwater, get the picture. South Pittsburg's Jimmy Wigfall was an all-state tailback on the 1969 team and one of the best to never play college...the dog howls....

When you say six classes, I think most people think 4 public and 2 private, in all sports. Most people I talk to like that idea. I hope a split playoff results from this vote today, but I also hope the publics and privates stay in the organization. There is a lot of talk of a new organization from both sides of the ailse....

Venus Lacy did all that was said earlier And Won an Olympic Gold Medal. Her Brainerd team won the AAA State tournament and she was the leading scorer and rebounder in the tournament but did not win the MVP. Go figure... [Edited by BIGDOG31 on 11-7-02 5:32P]
