  1. Translation: I was patiently waiting at the park on you guys to play a nice game of basketball with me. Then I found out that your team has begun conditioning. Please be more considerate and tell me you cannot make it in advance. I am waiting to beat Tracy Mcgrady in basketball like the whole arkansas team would. Let me know how everyone is doing and who the best players are. Is your team still going to beat us handily on a full court? Salutations...
  2. if you have shaq on your team it's easy to get to the playoffs...
  3. That's what teams do buddy...cash each other's checks....
  4. Don't worry about all the critics. They always come out when a team is winning and is doing good. That's when you know you're good, when other teams start hating you. Ask Science Hill. They've had it for years.
  5. I can't even name 3 teams from Carrol county let alone 10 players.
  6. Yes Chris Bunch is a sophomore, he played on the freshman team last year. He is a decent player but needs to keep his attitude straight. As for Emmanuel Reid, I have not seen him play but from heresay I gather that he is very good. I've even heard him compared to Jovann Johnson from a few years back.
  7. They don't pick the schedule for the Arby's till about half way through November I believe. They gather all the coaches together and they do a little drawing of teams. That is how the bracket is formed.
  8. your post would have been fine if you left out the comment about SH. science hill has been on the top and will remain on the top. Not saying that they won't get beat...just that they are still the team to beat, not DB or tenn high.
  9. The rebel flag didn't start out to represent hate. Now in today's culture, that's what it has become. People who are racist and do not like blacks go buy the flags to decorate their cars or houses with, to belong to a kind of secret society for lack of a better word. Everyone knows what it means, some people ignore what it means. If you ask a black man if he would walk down a street with rebel flags hanging on their porches after dark, i'm sure he would say no, only because HE knows what the flag represents and doesn't want to take the chance that the people on the street are hateful or just being patriotic to their school. How's he supposed to know?
  10. Anyone will get smashed huh? Just make sure you get to the post season so you can meet some competition. I know my boys at Science Hill will be there and will be eager to "smash" your "number one player in the state" mr. humphries.
  11. isolated incidents? it was going on all over the south...we hear about alot of them in books but can you imagine how much we have not heard!!....i'm very sure that probably close to 3 or 4 times more of the "incidents" occured.
  12. 50 cents or 50,000 dollars...it doesn't matter...it's the principal of the thing...stealing is stealing no matter how much the "total price of the items" were. if an adult had done it...they would still be in jail and probably wouldn't get out for a while...there's no way you can say their punishment was too harsh...counterfeiting is a federal offense...these boys got off with a slap on the wrist...
  13. must've hit a nerve with that one....we'll leave it at that....everyone go read a book and inform themselves...over and out....
  14. people weren't starved and tortured? i guess slavery was a walk in the park then...look who's on the other side of ignorance...
  15. Southerners didn't kill people just cause they were black? Maybe you ought to read a book sometime. Churches bombed, men dragged to death, men hung, men women and children murdered, homes destroyed and people terrorized all because of they were black. All united under the rebel flag.
  16. I'm not sure what the federal punishment for counterfeiting money is but I bet it sure is alot more than a night in jail. Those kids messed up big time. Sending them to a night in jail was very lenient considering. It doesn't matter if it was gum or not. It was stealing, knowingly I might add. Maybe these kids learned their lesson now before they would have tried to buy something larger with their "money".
  17. Forget tradition. People in the United States who still wave the rebel flag are apart of the "old southern" menatlity. This is the same as Germans waving the nazi flag around at sporting events. The flag represents a bad time in american history and should not memorialized by "southern patriotism". I'm not offended by the flag in any way. I just feel that it represents oppression and rednecks.
  18. Sorry, I can't tell you who I am. I was just curious of your name. It's a secret identity thing.
  19. Very true Stokomo...you can't score if you don't have the ball. It's not only Nick that can play defense though. That is what is taught at Science Hill. Everyone on the team can guard the ballhandlers. Nick is the man with the quickest feet and quickest hands and a nose for the ball. He has good anticipation. He can embarrass you if you're not careful. Ju Bowling is another that can keep you from getting the ball. He has long arms and is athletic like his brother. I'm getting pumped up to watch this years squad.
  20. Hughley is probably about 6'4" with LONG arms. He's very athletic. I haven't seen any of the transfers play. All I hear is what the team is telling. The hardin kid is a point guard and the other guy is a more slasher to the basket.
  21. This is a men's basketball board, not a student section board. I don't care how rowdy your fans are, it's not gonna make a a difference for harriman's team. They may think they are helping the team but they are making a reputation for their team and school. Not one that anyone would want to have. There's a difference between school spirit and being a jack*ss. Sounds to me like your fans qualify for the latter. If you ask the players, the fans haven't helped them win any games.
  22. Hey stokomo, are you henry stokely by chance?
  23. Stokomo, are you Henry Stokely by chance?
  24. There was an article in yesterday's Johnson City press.
  25. sounds about right to me, you shouldn't ask for just starting five though....you should ask for starting ten
