  1. I havene't been on here in a long time since I moved. The only way to clean up the Cloudland mess is to bring someone in from as far as West Tennessee. Do not hire anyone from Roan Mtn or close which will be hard to do. They need to come in and clean house by adding new asst coachs, new water boys or girls not grown men, and doesn't know any parents. They will have to put the best 11 on the field and practice there butts off to get them into shape. Now I don't like Lunsford but he had his kids in shape when it came time to play and didn't care what the parents had to say. Cloudland needs someone to be hard nosed and teach the kids what they need to be suscessful both on and off the field.
  2. Not to bash anyone but living in Florida the last couple of months has given me a new found life on football. Roop is good, but not a starter or for that matter a 2nd string player in the SEC. The past couple of weeks I have witnessed a team called Lakeland has anyone from Upper East Tenn ever heard of them they are really good in Central Florida and one of the top schools in the nation. If the rest of the South has linemen like that then Roop just may be better off in East Tenn like his partners in crime from last year. Love my Highlanders, keep your head's up and beat Hampton.
  3. Didn't get to see the game Friday. Since I am Florida I hate I didn't, becouse last year Cosby acted like they won the Super Bowl in Roan Mtn. Well new year and a new streak for the Highlanders ( remember it took Cosby years to beat Cloudland). Just goes to show you that you can't hold the Landers down long. Congrats the Coach Turbyfill sounds like we are on the right track.
  4. I have been trying to get E-mail notifactions to stop. They are filling up my e-mail, I have been my controls and am not sure how to get it to stop. Can someone tell me how to cut this off.
  5. I have been saying this for a long time, when schools have good Football season, Basketball is down and if Football is bad then Basketball is good. Unaka has been really good for years in B ball and football was in a slump now the tide has truned and if they can level it out and build both programs with success like Hampton has had the last couple of years the we will see the Unaka B ball of old. Look at the ACC do they even have football programs besides BC and Miami, but on the other hand Basketball is always on cloud 9.
  6. Watched Knox Catholic on CSS and Harrison Smith was very impressive. I beleave he is makeing a great choice in going to South Bend to play. TV coverage and a graduate rate of around 97%, what other choice would anyone won't to make. Good luck to Harrison, he is a good catch for the Irish.
  7. Very good question Laugerhead, I have asked myself that question for two years now. Pujo just who do you pull for the most your brother at the Bulldogs or the Highlanders. Now don't give me this ( I am a high school football fan thing) who are you really pulling for. I know you can't stand on the 50 yard line in the middle of the field and you do spend a lot of time watching Cloudland practice. So really whitch side of your bread is buttered, Cloudland or Hampton.
  8. The Spread Offense isn't the issue becouse I know that we are going to have the players to run it. Look back and if you know anything about the Junior Highlanders you know how fast and how many good kids were thair the last two years. The real coaching job will be turning those good, fast RB's into Recivers. I can think of at least six RB's, so if the coach can make good hands players out of them and keep the rinning skills we will be in for a good year. Now I'm not saying we will win the State Championship next year but we won't be 2-8 eather. Just stick with Robbie, I know he will turn things around.
  9. Hats off to Keith if he goes to Hampton. Seems like they get people whos wore out their welcome in Roan Mtn anyway. I have been hearing good things about what is going on in the Highlander camp in the past few weeks. The word going around is we are going to get some needed repair to the field. Good, if there is anything I can do King just let me know. Also been hearing of a few ways of raising money for the new field. King please keep me informed on any new happenings and tell Robbie to call me with some info.
  10. Them boys need to listen to their new coach. He knows what he is doing, and if he puts in the Offense that he told me about a while back then we had better hold on there may be some bumps in the road but it will smooth out and look like Cloudland football by mid season. King you are around the coach a little more then me becouse of my work schedule, so can you ask him for me if he is still planning on doing some fundraisers this Winter and Spring. Thanks King and good luck Highlanders!
  11. Does anyone know if a TV station from Upper East Tenn is going to carry the games. Greenville, Johnson City area, just becouse we don't have anybody down thair playing doesn't mean that we don't won't to watch the games also.
  12. Thanks that should be the fix I was looking for.
  13. Cloudland will be alright next year, the one to watch will be Unaka. The Rangers are close to having a big year not a 3rd of 4th round year but don't be shocked if they don't go to the 2nd round next year. Back to Cloudland I beleave that things are going to look like they used to with a new Offense and Defense should be back on top.
  14. You don't have to worry about that newspaper reporter, a few of us from Cloudland way are all ready going to try and fix him a little Christmas gift. He is from Roan Mtn and us Highlander fans think he needs a little Bulldog pup for Christmas becouse he has road the Hampton Band Wagon all year.
  15. Coach T can you help me fix my problem. My e-mail is getting full becouse of new topic (can't spell) notafuctions that are sent to my e-mail. Can you help me stop this before my wife kills me.
  16. I would just like to say congrats to FCS. I would have posted a few days ago but we have been having computer trouble. I haven't read this thread from the first but I have a few things to say. 1st of all I live in Carter County, ya bulldog country but I am a Cloundland Highlander fan. I was at the game last Friday, and Wade Mitchell is one of the best Linebackers I have ever seen. I saw the hit and it looked clean to me. I am embrassed the way the local newspaper has been, blowing this thing up and not telling the facts. When a QB runs around the corner and lowers his head like a running back he is fair game. When Hampton puts other players out of the game it is OK, but don't dare hurt one of the Bulldogs. What does Wes won't the TSSAA to do, go to playing 2 hand touch. You can go and look at Saturday and Mondays Elizabethton Star and read the crap that big Wes has been putting in the paper. Go to WWW.starhq.com and read this stuff. FCS is a class act and proves once more that the road to that Gold Ball goes through Region 4.
  17. Does anyone know how much the sports writers have an effect on this award. I would be ashamed to know that some bone headed sports writer from the Elizabethton Star infulenced other sports writers to not vote for Wade Mitchell. He looked like a very good linebacker in my book.
  18. I don't think that I would count my chickens before thay hatch. A hole lot of working out to be done before next Aug. You never know what is going to happen in 9 months. We will just have to wait and see who gets better in the offseason.
  19. I would have to say Wade by far. The hit he laid on Lunsford was ESPN stuff if I have ever seen any. People from up here say it was Helmet to Helmet even the poor dumb newspaper reporter says it was illegal but where I was standing on the sidelines looked like an old L.T. hit from back in the day.
  20. Just won't to say good luck to the Bulldogs. As far as a good time to leave I would leave around 2:30 or 3:00. Last year we left Elizabethton around 3:30 didn't stop to eat and made it around 6:40. The guy I was with had a GPS and it also said 2hrs or so and becouse of traffic it took a little over 3. Drive safe those roads in Morgan County are narrow just like ours.
  21. Cloudland vs Hampton 1995, 4 overtimes, snow 2 or 3 inchs deep and a bitter cold wind.
  22. Went down to Coalfield with Cloudland last year and their visiting team stands are really small. If you are not thair early then you will probley be standing around the fence.
  23. Been on hold all week reading the papers and takeing it all in on what I think will happen Friday. If Hampton get things going early and don't make bone headed mistakes in the 1st half then it could be a nother long trip back to Harriman. If Hampton can't get over the Adam Townsend blues it may be hair cut time for the linemen. Harriman looks big and fast in the papers. Now one more if, if Hampton and Harriman both have bad 1st halfs, get some bad calls from the refs, and make dumb mistakes, I will have to go with Hampton becouse of Home field, the stands and side lines will be packed becouse there is know one left in Carter County. I will say Hampton 26 Harriman 20
  24. I was looking on the TSSAA web site a few weeks ago, and if I am correct the rule book says that a school must move + or - 20% in enrolement. Hampton was at 17. something %. So sorry thair #1landerfan, but Hampton ant going any where, besides if they moved up it would take all the fun out of Coach T and or regular season match up.
  25. Trousdale over Temple that says it all. Rick Flair has said it best for many years( To Be The Man, You Have To Beat The Man) for Temple to show they are ranked in the top 10 for a reason they have to knock off the defending Champs. Go Yellow Jackets!!
