Man, you really must be bitter. Maybe the kid in question can't play the radio, much less basketball. When you start pumping up questionable players to college coaches, you tend to lose credibility among them. It is very difficult to be objective about your own son/relative. If the kid can play, he will have some opportunities to show his stuff against some good 11-AAA teams this year. Or maybe you need to take the approach of Bubba Taylor's dad and fill up pages, and pages, and pages about this player. I see your point but I really disagree how you are going about it.

If that is true, he would not be playing football either. As long as he did not turn 19 before August 1, he is good to go per TSSAA standards. If he is ineligible it has to be for another reason instead of his age.

By TSSAA rules eligibility now runs for the entire season. If he is eligible to play football he should also be eligible to play basketball or any other sport. Isn't this the same athlete that got them in some hot water a few years back because he was allowed to compete on HS varsity sports teams while in the 8th grade @ EH? Are you referring to this situation effecting his eligibility?

I think a sleeper pick could be Chris Darden from LaVergne. PG with lots of quicks and an uncanny ability to get his shot off close to the hoop. Gomab why so low w/ Bubba Taylor? I'm not the president of his fan club or anything but the kid is consistent and he is a winner. I think he has always made the players around him better and I personally saw him take over the game against Hendersonville in the substate. I don't believe there are 20 something players in the jr. class I'd rather have than him in this state.

CoachF, There is a rumor going around the East side that you did in fact meet President Bush. My source says that you had 22 basketballs signed by the former Rangers owner and will post them soon on E-Bay to see what they fetch. Can you substantiate this rumor CoachF?

Hey Metroman, I know that you have to say the right things on here and I respect you for your tactfulness and diplomacy but all it takes is to be passed over and you get labelled. The word on the street is that the guy has not passed his NTE after a couple of years of teaching and coaching. Does this make him a bad coach or selection for the job? Of course not. But I'm sure that Metro will make sure that he passes the NTE. Oh, by the way, I heard that Charles Hathaway's tutor is available if he needs any further remediation. Hey CoachF, I spoke with someone who I felt should know a good bit today about the position and they stated that you, Doc, Ladd, Harrison, and the girls assistant were on the agenda for next week's interviews. I wish you the best, it will be a good job for whoever gets it.

Hang in there man, the good lord will lead you to something a lot better than you have had in your last two stops. We were kind of in the same boat in Metro. I had heard that may have landed in the same district as an assistant. I am going to try to give you a call today 8/16 if I still have your current number.

Im sure there has got to be some guys from Memphis but ditto for Giles Co. Saw them play a few times this summer and they have a great duo and a great team. They will be a force @ the AA level.

Just a thought MJ Bear, I did see you guys play a few times and when I saw you guys you were well prepared and played hard. I disagree with the one guys who said you had a lot of talent last year and I feel that Coach Deering deserved a better opportunity than he got. It sounds like you guys will be much improved this year and I'll be keeping up with your progress, lots of luck with your season.

So, if you do not go at least 20-5 will this coach get fired in one year as well?

Hillsboro should be the team to beat in 11-AAA this year but we all know in that district Brentwood is going to have some impact. They will be alright the next few years but the opening of Ravenwood High will ultimately hurt their program in the years to come. They may not look very good during the summer but it is just that -the summer- remember who is their coach, I really feel that he is one of the best around he will have them ready to go come November.
