house of troy, it's a joke so loosen up. let me guess, you're a father/mother of a player on the team. which just makes me think of those parents who go out and get sweatshirts made about the perfect season before the season is even over. (not directed to house of troy) >Trojan parents are driving me insane; a perfect season is 15-0. Undefeated during the regular season is a great accomplishment, but the past two years our schedule ranks are 43rd and 44th. I disown the 2004 team, but our schedule rank before that year was 2nd. So please if you really want a new sweatshirt just put what you HAVE done on the sweatshirt. Just ask the boys from Kingsport what you get for going undefeated during the regular season.

Ok, whoever is talking negatively towards Don Woods is insane. I guarentee you have never been around him. The way he runs his program with class is a thing to respect. Tmo is right, before the acquisition of Don Woods the West team was lucky to go 5-5. I played for Coach Woods and after my father he is the man I respect the most. If you don't like him, you have your right, but there should be a legitiment reason. Saying that Don Woods is NOT a good coach is just plain dumb. Also, no-one brought up anything about you, but you proceeded to tell us how you were all-state in highschool and junior college assistant whatnot. Compensating for something USA? Don't live in the past. Oh and on a little side note- We like to drop the E and add ING on certain verbs in Tennessee (i.e. Comeing, Haveing= Coming, Having). thumb

Have any of you actually seen both teams play this year? I know it's unlikely, but still.

03, umm if you didn't notice, mo west was not a very good team this year-at all. Comparing them to last year's squad is just plain dumb. Maryville is still on top and the Vikings will have a rough time on Jim Renfro. Thats straight Truth. Seems like a lot of teams are down in talent from a few years back. TN high's class of 02 with Boodle Clark and the Gang and Maryville's 03 guys Carl Stewart, Brad Merrit, Holt, Waters... all of em- just seems like none of those awesome players are being duplicated. Mo West was dramatically this year too.

The Swamp? I'm just not seein that one man. How about the "Lame fans who rarely get excited stadium". Sorry, but I doubt any opposing team fears the fans at Burke Toney.

footballperson, well thats a umm great name to have. no seriously i like it. How about James at reciever, at least a few plays. I always wanted to see that but I guess we're not gonna be able to. Yes the D Line and Linebackers as well need to step up and get tough. The Anderson Co Scrimmage was... well less than stellar. Trojanfan2007, maybe you should stop talkin trash about everything West will do and make some progress to doing it. How many games did West ever win by talkin about it? oh ok. Transplant, Any news on how the guys are doing so far this summer? Someone said the QB's and WR's went to the Furman camp. shout out to Nate Buice.

The 2001 Morristown West team was a good all around team. They played an awesome Maryville team in the 4th round and just couldn't get anything goin against them. The Hillsboro team from 2001 was also a quality team who fell to Maryville. For Hillsboro, Tim Gray was one of the better players I've seen.

Rog, It's ok to admit you were wrong and you thought you were making fun of some random West fan who never touched the field, because a lot of people on here are like that. "I have a friend who was 4-0 against West." ? That's a winner. Oh yeah, both teams did lose their last game. Only one lost in the first round and the other lost in the State Championship. Suga, What chip do I have on my shoulder? And get it right when I said I didn't have any knowledge of how the Offense will be this year at West. Not that I was actually sayin i'm some wise person and I've come here to throw some "knowledge" about what will happen this year or what has happened. Geez sis- It's like having someone say the word Bomb and then thinking they mean Bomb on an airplane. Bomb bomb bomb, bomb ba bomb bomb bomb. Ben Stiller does it better. haha Oh and Roger. East has had an incredible amount of talent the past few years. The coaching has been the problem, added to the attitude of the players. Many East teams over the past few years have had fights between themselves and very little respect for the coaches. If they get that taken care of they'll be succesful. West hasn't had an overwhelming amount of talent, just a good coach and kids who think he isn't full of shiz. How was your highschool career Rog?

well, well, well. so it has begun. Anyway, let me say this thread is kinda gettin crazy and really doesn't reflect the topic at all. But, with me being interested I'm gonna help out and make it even more off topic. First off, I don't wanna hear any East fan talking trash about Jeff Co. YOU did drop them from your schedule last year if i'm not mistaken, let me go ahead and tell you I'm not. Secondly, The Trojans did lose a very good senior class with a world of talent on defense. The defense from the 2003 was succesful because of the talent, BUT also because about 8 of those guys started their Junior season as well. The Defense this year does bring a lot of seniors to the table, but those seniors spent a lot of their time on the sideline last year. The real task is getting them use to the level of play and speed and hopefully they can improve as the year goes on. Talkin about the offense, hmmm. I'm a defense guy so i'm not gonna try to spread any knowledge. The Trojans do have some quality players on that side of the ball as well. Maybe the role will be switched this year and the Offense will be the strong point of the team, I'd always like to have a better Defense though... The East guys always start talkin trash, well let me just go ahead and brag about me 4-0 record against you. We did earn it, might as well enjoy it. Regarding East though, seems like they don't really give any coach a chance. If he doesn't provide an awesome team within a year he's gone. I'm really thankful West landed Don Woods some odd years ago, so they dont have to worry about that. I'm not fully updated on Jeff this year. Who do they have? I've heard Chris Shiverdecker mentioned a few times already though. Yeah i remember during the West game QB John Minnich took 1 step to the side while Matt Rice was in the shotgun position and the announcers said Minnich flanked out to reciever. Oh yeah, The Trojans had a safe punt on one time( the defense stays on the field to preent any fakes- you all know that) but the guys kept talkin about how Brandon Fanney was tellin matt rice to fair catch the ball, since the Trojans were "Bringin everyone on this one". No one really blocks on our safe call and even after the play they kept sayin oooh yeah better fair catch it when all your help is tryin to block the punt. Incorrect names were the worst, They called out a 3rd team player and also a player who quit before the playoffs.

I've had a few conversations with mira, and let me tell you if the kid wanted to neglect sports he would still have a future through his intelligence. He actually told me some interesting things like the cure for all illness and a plan for world peace, as well as the location of the arc of the covenant. But i forgot everything he said. Maybe i was so impressed that i actually met him. Goodspeed, I've heard two theories about the statue. One being the school had a few members who didn't want the statue. The other being that the statue will soon be made, but they have to wait for the gold and diamonds to be shipped in from overseas. That's right, gold and diamonds will comprise this statue, and nothing less would do. On the other hand, if a few stubborn people in Morristown feel they can prevent this memorial of Al Mira, they better ask that Volunteer end what happens when Mira gets upset (I heard Mira found the kid and dislocated both of his shoulders while branding "I'm a sissy boy who never blocked Mira" across his forehead). T, yeah sorry about Sweden i guess i was so excited to hear about Mira coming back that i got carried away. Oh yes, the infamous Volunteer end who tipped the ball and then acted as if he got by Al Mira. actually what happened on that play is quickly becoming legend. Al Mira from his fullback position noticed two defensive tackles breaking through the middle, he then blocked (he threw them 6 yards) both of them at once while the defensive end made his way around the outside. People then assumed Mira missed his block, and that defensive end was quick to agree. I guess he thought Al Mira would just forget about all of it. I agree with Mr. T, I pity the fool who says he got by Al Mira's block. With a name like Nizzi B. he's gotta be white! Sounds like a New Kids on the Block name. Knox Central's basketball team suffered a loss to Morristown East i heard.
