Board of Education in a sense rejects the $8 million citing they do not think the motion to amend the previous $15.8 million they asked for was legal. They voted to send the entire $15 million asking amount back to the commission for this Monday’s meeting of the commission. An amendment for only $13 million failed. That was a quick synapsis of what transpired last night.

$8 million won’t touch the damages. I realize there are some other things that need to be addressed that are in the previous proposal but all of those repairs are necessary. I love the idea of getting another assessment done personally. But I hate the Engineering Firm Brown suggested. They are controversial and I think the one that the school board uses is in pocket with Sumner Co too. Use an independent one and let’s see what is said. But who pays for that? I know for a fact that Gallatin’s stadium is in vast need of repairs and I would love to have another assessment say the same thing! Point is you cannot keep ignoring problems and expect them to go away. Eventually you have to replace or repair, things wear out and not having a proper procedure in place has led to this. The past BoE is at fault and the County Commission is at fault for letting that happen. I trust none of them!! This Commission needs to do the right thing and spend the money for the proper repairs and quit trying to pass the Buck once again down the road. This has become very ugly for Summer County because of the political pandering to one’s own party!!

Springfield played us tough like I thought they would. Gallatin kept them in the game with turnovers and dropped passes. Springfield did not have a lot of playmakers. Cobbins looked like the only player that could take it to the house. The punter did a good job though and he got a lot of work tonight. As usual the people of Springfield are classy and our long tradition of games is only separated by this win. Lot of work for Gallatin this week with Lebanon coming in. But the defense definitely came to play tonight!

Can I say one thing. This has bothered me this week and I just feel compelled to say this. Why on earth would fans of a team give out injury information on a player? It just seems stupid to do such on a social media site and not just this one!! There I said it!

He has been a steady force these last 3 years. I wanted nothing more than to see him continue running that ball when he went out last week. He’s a great kid and all of us love him. But we cannot quit because he isn’t out there. Several might be called upon to fulfill his role who knows at this point. But Gallatin will still run the ball, offensive philosophy won’t change, maybe situationally but overall it’s spread the ball around get your playmakers in position to score.

It’s just the next man up mentality. Gallatin is not short on playmakers.

This game should be drawing more interest. A lot rides on the outcome.

Well maybe it was me Lol!! I have a group I am always around. Love the history between these two teams. Springfield always play tough.

Nope wasn’t me. I was firmly entrenched with Gallatin folk.

In 3 years Gallatin and Springfield will have an 100th year meeting if both stay on the schedule. That is pretty impressive. I have been really impressed with Wilson since he had taken over the program. He was definitely what Springfield needed and has done a great job. I know this will be a hard fought game no matter the records. Gallatin will look a lot different this year with their offensive set. They have been a lot of fun to watch.

Question for the Springfield people, what instrument does Clarence Cobbins play in the band? Seems that kid is doing a little bit of everything!!

So this is the tie breaker. Gallatin has not won at the new Jacket Stadium.

Is there really any doubt with who is playing who? Looking at restaurant options in Springfield. Local fare not the typical chain places. I know several good ones, it’s just what I am in the mood for come Friday.

Definitely got my eye on this game. A Green Hill win and Gallatin can get a shot at 2nd place if they take care of business themselves. A Cookeville win and a Gallatin loss to Lebanon puts us out of the playoffs.

Wilson does an excellent job up there. He gets the best out of what he has. This years team though hasn’t been scoring a lot and it appears they have only ran as a team for over 200 yards once this year. Now that could change with a mobile QB against Gallatin. They have definitely been a thorn in our side this year. The Wave defense has gotten much better but Springfield always puts up a fight. With an extra week to prepare I would say Gallatin will get their best effort.

Equally as big for us. The loss to Cookeville put Gallatin under the gun and even though out of region, this game has effect if tie breakers come into play.

Springfield has one thing that Gallatin has had trouble with and that’s a running QB. That has me worried some.
