  1. Give me the names either here or message
  2. Mt Juliet- still number one in the region until they get knocked off Gallatin- making noise and definitely improving on a weekly basis Green Hill- first loss of the season but a solid team that will look to rebound Lebanon- up and down season so far, may not be quite as talented this year Wilson Central- decent team but injuries have derailed them somewhat. Looking for something good to build on Cookeville- still in the building phase but better Warren Co- it’s a struggle with a young team overall
  3. I agree they need some upgrades. Seems like you get outside of the new schools and the Hendersonville market it’s fend for yourself. The two oldest schools in the county are Gallatin and Portland but they never get equal until they “have” too.
  4. Yes, it’s ridiculous. The schools got 15 million so we will see how the cheapen out when they start building. Beech needs a stadium that fits their nice field.
  5. Great job by the Gallatin defense and those defensive backs for shutting down Mattingly and setting the tone on some big bone jarring hits. 3 interceptions on the night. The Gallatin defense has grown up and really progressed over the year. Green Hill had no answer for big Brinkley running the ball. He never had any big huge gains but those steady 4, 5, and 6 yards took their toil. Jackson faced constant pressure during the game but made some good throws. One of the “talking points” by social media was that Green Hill was going to shut down Williams and I would say that happened but Gallatin turned to McMurray and the big man responded. This was good game for Gallatin and they turned up the physicality on the Hawks and it showed. Stroup is turning this team to be a very tough team to contend with. They can still get better but the direction is clear.
  6. I guess we manufactured 30 yards on the coaching staff because they were frustrated.
  7. I have seen some of it this morning. Others have too. Go Green Wave!!
  8. Green Hill is 5-0 and they have a very potent offense as well as a tough defense. Burroughs is a quality QB for being a sophomore and Mattingly has great size for a wideout. They have a good thing going. The runningbacks are decent enough to keep you honest and the QB can take off as well. The defense has a very active linebacker who has a nose for the football. Lots of quality role players on the team and Crouch is a good coach. They have generated a good deal of support these last 4 years as well. It will be a tough task for Gallatin tomorrow night.
  9. Then again, a good coach that can connect with the players and teach them in a way that the individual player can understand where they are supposed to be and what their role is can elevated a decent player to a better player. Talent sometimes is not physical but what is between the ears.
  10. I guess that is the difference between you and me and a public forum.
  11. Stroup has made a world of difference in my opinion. The kids are buying in and everybody knows the program is looking upwards and better. Yeah, it’s not a smooth upward climb but it’s worth it. He is so even keel about everything but I believe he knows what he has here. He has been great to work around!
  12. I agree 100% with your last sentence under point 2 as well as the last part of 3. It’s going to take some time and it is getting better. Green Hill is 5-0 and in the region so it’s a no brained that they have to play. Dickson Co fit the schedule opening and Springfield has had a lot of recent success. Nobody controls what the county commission and school board does at Beech, Hendersonville, Portland, White House, Westmoreland, MH, Station Camp, nor Gallatin and nor does Liberty Creek for that matter. We take what we can get. I think this contest sets the tone for the second half of the season. If Green Hill wins, they should have an easy time until their big rival in MJ. If Gallatin wins, it provides a huge boost that things have gotten better and more than likely the best teams are behind you. Someone could surprise though.
  13. Personally I want to just move on from this subject but I will address one thing you said. When it comes to the team underachieving and being talented and you quit on the team, because that is what happened, it is solely a selfish issue not a team first issue. The kid got exposure and catered too by the old staff nobody can deny that! I know people around the program were asked to help the young man and many did. He wanted to leave and he did, when he wanted to come back, the team voted “No”. That says all I need to know. Now can we talk about Green Hill and the current season?
  14. Wish the young man well and hope he finds some success in life. He had every opportunity here, no matter what anybody says. But frankly we are better off without him and the team thinks so too. End of story! Burroughs is a good QB to be so young. He will be tough to contain especially with that D1 tightend!
  15. Not in the least true. This is a huge game for this region!
  16. Playoffs are a goal so, yes, I think that is one indication of separation between good and bad. Is it the overall point, no. I am just happy to see my team with a shot at beating an undefeated team and not wondering how bad they will get beaten. New coach, new offense, new expectations, and getting better every week. Foundation is being laid and Green Hill is just the next test, win or lose.
  17. Green Hill is led by a tough sophomore QB and they have a huge D1 prospect at TE. They keep boasting about how tough their defense is as well. Physical tough team and a hard test for the Green Wave. I look forward to seeing how this one will come out!
  18. Green Hill vs Gallatin highlights the week Mt Juliet vs Wilson Central follows close behind Lebanon vs Watertown, haven’t played that one in awhile Cookeville vs Warren Co, must win to even have a hope of the playoffs
  19. Hendersonville is better than people think.
  20. I guess the Beech faithful went to the beach
