  1. I wouldn't say that at all. The only time Cumberland Co. was to face Goodpasture was at the Hendersonville Tournament, and GP was out out of it. Red Bank was an outstanding team this year. Unfortunately, they had to face Soddy in the District Finals, then had to travel to Cumberland Co. in the region semis. They took Cumberland Co. to 10 innings. Cleveland also ran into the same situation. After losing to Cumberland Co. 1-0, they then had to travel to Soddy in the region semis where they took Soddy to 10 innings. Who is best, who is second, etc. across all divsions is moot, unproductive, divisive, and a matter of opinion only. You could maek the case that: 1. Soddy 2. Cumberland 3. Red Bank 4. Cleveland 5. Baylor 6. Goodpasture 7. Greenbriar 8. Gibbs or 1. Goodpasture 2. Baylor 3. Soddy 4. Gibbs 5. Cumberland and on and on and on and on. It really doesn't matter and is best left alone.
  2. are they next to the high school? thanks in advance.
  3. Except for last year (Dickson Co. Club K pitcher 2002) and the year before that (Beech Club K pitcher 2001) and next year....... always finish ahead? puleeze! 1 win in 3 years don't make an always.
  4. chs4life: it was self-imposed, not ERA -4fstpitch
  5. chs4life: I have removed anyhting and everything that could be considered "starting trouble". Hope this keeps the peace.
  6. weasel, you are correct. No harm in playing the angles huh? I'm not a fan of Soddy. I hope they lose. They are arrogant beyond their talent, you would think they are God's gift to fastpitch, as was shown when one of our players was bleeding on the field from an elbow to the face at first base and all the Soddy player could do was look at her with a snotty smirk. My team is out of it. I am for anybody that beats Soddy. And yep, my info was wrong. Cleveland did give up an earned run. MIssed that in the highlights.
  7. I have been wrong before, I'll be wrong again. This is just an opinion.
  8. Look for Cumberland Co. to upset Soddy. They beat Cleveland 8-1 against their "ace" pitcher who gave up no earned runs to Soddy. Soddy only won due to errors. Soddy isn't hitting the ball. Sure, they have the best pitcher in the state and a good defense. But if you don't score, you don't win. Cumberland Co. 2 Soddy 0.
  9. Oakland 3, Coffee Co. 0 Both are good teams. But, I'll go with the team that has chemistry going into the latter part of the season. This is my honest opinion.
  10. Sounds like both Smith County and York have some good pitching. York is not exactly known for their softball. I have seen the Smith Co. pitching. Although not dominating, the ace has very good control and knows what to throw when (which in my opinon is more important in college). So what's the low down on the York pitcher?
  11. Thanks to the Lady Cavs Coach and players for putting in the extra hours. The lights out scenario added to the excitement. -A proud Lady Jet Dad. [Edited by 4fstpitch on 4-28-03 10:39A]
  12. Good Re-Cap. You have quite the pitcher in that one!
  13. Per the players, Cumberland Co. plays Davidson Academy at 3:30, Bradley Central at 5:30, and Mt. Juliet at 8:30. Kind of a bummer bracket, they have already played and defeated Mt. Juilet and Bradley. Don't know who they play tomorrow, but it is appearent the games are on for now. Looks like it rained this morning a little then moved on until late this evening.
  14. Maybe one of y'all know... What are the standing in 6-AAA? And where is the District Tournament this year? -Thanks
  15. Anybody know the pools and/or brackets?
  16. 28-2 as of yesterday. They beat Rhea Co. in a district match-up 13-0 in 5. However, they have a bullseye on their back at the Cookeville tournament. We will see how well they perform there. They do have potential.
  17. Cumberland County did not play Cookeville Monday. That game was cancelled. Cookeville has not beaten Cumberland County for a few years now, although their program deserves a lot of respect and plays tough. Gonna miss Coach Duff. -Thanks
  18. The Friday games for this tournament are cancelled. The Saturday games are still on. Possibly 2 pool games then single elimination. Still don't like it ......but there it is. [Edited by 4fstpitch on 4-10-03 6:21P]
  19. Is this information verified? [Edited by 4fstpitch on 4-10-03 6:22P]
  20. Tough Loss Lady Admiral. That Indy team was tough, but the errors hurt. If it helps any, from what I heard they were the Indiana state champs last year with that entire team still intact. Cumberland County beat them in the championship though. Was proud of little ole Sale Creek hanging with the big dogs for as long as they did. Best of luck the rest of the season.
  21. That Brainerd cannot play defense and has a pitcher who is struggling. That was my observation.
  22. A Pool Karns AAA Cleveland AAA Macon AA Sweetwater AA Warren AAA B Pool Dobyns-Bennett AAA Wilson Central AAA Cumb. Co. AAA Princeton Comm .. Indiana School Dekalb AA C Pool BGA II Sale Creek A Tullahoma AAA Farragut AAA Kingston AA
  23. Sale Creek is a good team, putting pressure on even the best of defences. Their weakness is their own defence, as was shown last night. Congrads to Whitwell for a good contest, but I think you know if Sale Creek hadn't of given up those unearned runs it wouldn't have been close. Key to Whitwell winning..... Improve putting the ball in play. Key to Sale Creek winning. Play some , no, any team defence. We will see next week.
  24. I agree Backoff. However, as is the case with great teams, they are well coached in how to run the bases, play very good defense, and can advance the runners that do get on with impunity. That being said, SD would do poorly if they faced a team that threw nothing but flat strikes, but could hit their pitching. That would be a fun game to watch eh?
  25. We've come to Soddy to play before, and couldn't pitch a strike even when the girl swung and missed. Glad to hear what comes around........
