  1. he plays strong safety on defense and wide-out on offense
  2. no lie there, not only does Logan throw in the low 90's from the mound (he's headed to UK to hurl the fastball next year) i have personally seen him throw the football from the opposite 45 through the uprights. thats 55 yards and through the uprights - easily 65 yards. and i am glad as well to see that normal people live in knoxville
  3. ok i guess i am going to quit talking about anyone else because obviously they are smarter than i am. but i would be under the impression that this season is the only one that matters, not last years or the past one hundred years. i would like to agree with ghsplayer in what he said about other sports but lets save that till later and try to get our boys to bring home a gold ball. i've got my head on straight and i am just focusing on the game from here on out (unless someone has another silly comment to make about years past or alcoa). i'll make my prediction now without seeing any milan film so its just a toss up on what i've heard and what i know we have. Goodpasture: 24 Milan: 7 p.s. please no more comments about other things because i really want to focus on the game, i really do!
  4. please don't call my quoting inaccurate my good sir, i've seen everyone of them in almost every game they have ever played for the cougars and this is an accurate assesment, but i appreciate your input
  5. dude seriously no one is impressed and everyone here is tired of you, go away
  6. to fellow goodpasture fans, the tennessean polls came out today for top ten teams in the larger mid-state area (large enough for henry co. to crack the list). i was shocked to see that in a victory we moved down from third to fifth still behind BA, and Riverdale (who lost), and now also Smyrna, and Hillsboro. the quote was something to the tune of, offense struggles but solid defense does it's job in victory over solid CPA team. Questions: 1) How do you drop two spots in a poll beating a top ten team (CPA was ranked ten going in) for the second time in a year by double digits both times? (if this happened, hypethitically, in the BCS, this would be the biggest outrage of the year by far, #3 beating #10 by double digits and dropping to #5) 2) I know that people expect 500 yards a night out of our offense, but how is 350+ considered struggling against a top ten team? 3) If we can't get love from our own people in middle tennessee, is there anyone we can get it from? I know this has nothing to do with the thread or milan, and for that i apologize, but i was looking for some goodpasture supporters that could maybe answer my questions
  7. i may just stop by and see how neighborly everyone is, i bet they want even let me in the gate. if your gonna make stabs back at someone make sure you've read everything they have said. i'm pretty sure i apologized to everyone for what i said earlier on in the weekend because i hate waiting the whole week for the game and i was really pumped up. but if you want me to, i can go back and start ripping on a huntingdon team that just can't find a way to beat goodpasture
  8. my goodness, isn't that the truth
  9. believe this to be his 13th or 14th year for coach martin (believe he became coach in 92') other coaches have been back and forth since then
  10. the majority of you alcoa fans are just crazy. do you not realize that you still have to win another game before you play either milan or goodpasture. you all worry about the owls on your own threads and let dawgs and cougars worry about each other here on this one. it's easy to run your mouth when your on top. just remember that. and to milan fans that i earlier offended with comments about how people have been jumping the milan bandwagon. i'm sorry. what i should have done is waited and realized the amount of support that you were recieving from west tennessee fans is actually a great thing. i jumped the gun because i was getting excited about the game and didn't really realize what was going on. it's the type of stuff thats going on right now (the whole west side of tennessee coming together to cheer for their teams, even making threads dedicated to their support) that makes high school sports the greatest thing in the world. good luck to everyone, safe journies to milan, and safety to everyone during the game. but i have to throw in a go cougars
  11. don't think for a minute that he is joking, it's really kinda pathetic how terrible our following is. i guess it's better than average but not good enough for the caliber team we have year in year out
  12. sounds great can't wait to be there. maybe, for once in our history, we will not only bring a crowd but a rowdy one. no matter what we bring, should be fun to see the kids duke it out.
  13. DII Brentwood Academy and McCallie DI 5A Ravenwood, Smyrna, Ooltewah DI 4A Hillsboro, Maryville DI 3A Fulton DI 2A Goodpasture, Alcoa
  14. just checked tennessee.scout and no tennessee hasn't made him an offer yet, but tennessee hasn't gotten but one of their top d tackle recruits so.....maybe... but i don't even know whats going on in marks mind
  15. i too have been suprised by the amount of incompletions that lowery had and thus leads to the low amount of yards for so many passes, and he is a load carrying the football. but a qb is only as good as they can make their team because the qb is the team leader. i'll be honest, i haven't seen but one alcoa game (film of fulton) and haven't seen the kid from smith, but it's a pleasure going out and watching coleman stroud every friday night. 43/84 for 1082 and 14 tds 48 rushes for 287 and 8 tds 1 interception (on defense that is) 20 tackles (before last night) 34.8 yard punting average has only played 4 complete games this year he plays with guts and determination leading one of the better teams in all of the state and is a great guy.
  16. i'm with bulldawgs1, i believe the winner of this game ill match up just fine with alcoa - people have to understand that they are beatable. the reason they appear to be unstopable is because people sit here and allow them to achieve that status by the way we appear to be scared of them. whoever wins the game friday night will do just fine in the state game (i wouldn't even count out smith co. this week) -(and this last comment is not a chance for an alcoa fan to come on our thread and rip us, so keep it to yourself, no one cares to hear it right now!)
  17. good joke with the duche, that was very nice of you. i've got an idea you worry about you and i'll worry about me. if i want to say that goodpasture will beat them by fifty i will. if i want to say that milan will beat goodpasture by fifty i will. you make your post and i'll make mine and we'll leave it at that. - oh and pretty sure that there hasn't been a kid play at goodpasture since the '92 freshman class that hasn't played in a state championship game so...... looks like your third round comment was incorrect. you say what you want and i will for sure say what i want. bulletin board material or not.
  18. i'm not trying to be smart but those numbers are astronomical! http://espn.go.com/melkiper/s/2001/0307/1136944.html these are numbers from a past NFL combine - i think when you see these real numbers you'll realize why i thought what you said was kinda funny! our fastest player, and he's the fastest player i have seen all year (chased down Golden Tate) is benjamin cunningham #24 for us. i would say that he runs a mid 4.4 and he is by far our fastest player and probably close to tops in state (fastest i have ever seen at goodpasture, yes faster than marcus buggs or maurice haynes) - give me a little respect please by checking out the numbers at the link and then realize why a 4.5 is fast
  19. wow! if these numbers hold true then your faster than goodpasture and we're in trouble! i don't think you realize how fast a 4.5 is, i seriously doubt those numbers would hold on dots but you never know. i sure hope not - or it could get nasty
  20. fair enough, and apologies for the low blow
  21. and goodpasture fans will be pulling for the mustangs!
  22. ok now, quit with the joking. because if we wanted plenty of room to sit down i'm sure we would go to Huntingdon this weekend. word is there would be plenty of room to sit there this friday night.
  23. "milan's defense is too good", be careful what you say my good man. and lets be real again. every team gets better through the year. so a loss is a loss, and a loss that big is a loss that big. Goodpasture beat lipscomb in the first game of the season (according to the way the playoffs are going, a team that is better than crockett) and both of those teams have gotten better. the fact of the matter is you can't escape the fact that you got pummled. best of luck though
  24. goodpasture players want the teams that they play to expect to win. that way win they beat them they know they beat a team that cared and actually came out and put up a contest and didn't just hand them the game. oh... and by the way, cpa played a great game last night and their defense did what they considered to be stopping our run game and it probably was (but goodpasture still ran for over 300 yards) so i respect your heart and desire to come out and play and i am glad that you are not laying down, but i just don't see myself getting excited about the game that will be played friday night. i will probably still be full from thursday and just sit in my seat and not say much as we bring it back to the boro.
