  1. (in my best Achmed, the dead terrist voice) SILENCE!!!!! I Keel YOU!!!!!!!
  2. At the risk of being offensive to girls...he throws like one...lol. It's kind of strange how ability in one sport doesn't necessarily translate to another. I think most everyone would agree that Willie Mays is one of the top ten outfielders of all time. Yet, I saw him bowl on one of the Trash Sports shows back in the '70s, and he was absolutely horrible. I think he bowled a game somewhere between 65 and 80 pins. I broke 100 the first time I ever bowled, and I am unathletic and was 12 years old at the time. Well, define ability..... he plays some hoops. So do I and I can throw. I bowl some too. He couldn't throw a baseball 55 feet. Like President, he should not agree to a task he isn't capable of doing. He had to know.
  3. Yea, I'm so happy he changed parties. It appears dems will use their "nuke option" to ram this thru....Now, the American people need to have long memories.
  4. Is there someone attempting to state, because state gov't has done a poor job, that because of said poor job guns should be outlawed? I too am confused....but glad i have my permit to protect myself and family from poor gov't choices.
  5. Is Dacatfish back? He won't be here long...he got his sorry butt kicked the last time he was on here challenging everyone. Looking forward to the season. I believe this years version of the Blue Devils will work hard and improve each game. I know the effort will be there.
  6. How arrogent and condensending has the democratic party become? Why do run of the mill democrats tolerate the antics of their democratic leaders? I don't think dems are out of touch with Americans, I don't think they care. For years libs accused conservatives of the bully pulpit, but in reality, we see firsthand who actually uses these tactics. The Reids...The Pelosi's....And our President is in full community organizer mode, organizing busloads of "supporters" to flood town hall meetings, while his lapdogs call everyone else "unamerican"....... His own "town hall" was a gathering of hand picked supporters, as his first 3 questioners were straight from his union groups. Does he think he is fooling anyone other than liberal media, who still fawn and offer no check and balance? I'm under no illusion republicans would treat issues like healthcare any different, but the systematic dismantling of our country by far, far left wingers into some sort of gov't sponsored state is troubling...and maybe we've had enough? Contact your reps, people.....especially republicans. My response to my reps has been no "gov't" solution....I do not want them controlling another 1/6 of our ecomony, even if I believed the gov't plan was better than moms apple pie. The private sector needs a push, not a complete overhaul. Personally, I'd start with tort reform and open up my ability to search for insurance out of state, allowing my insurance to go with me if I change employment....But that wouldn't give gov't power, just solve the problem.

  8. What is going on? Obama calling out people as "manufactured outrage"? Pelosi calling people swastica wearing, fanatical frauds? We are too well dressed to not to be an organized gathering? An angry mob? And now, a KGB type website to report "fishy" complaints about Obamacare???? Isn't this illegal? Squashing first amendment rights? We have a President who will speak to our enemies unconditionally, but call Americans "manufactured", fanatics, frauds????? So now Obama is back in campaign mode doing what he does best....Community organizing. Sending out e-mails begging liberals to go to these town hall meetings.... So just who is organizing an angry mob? This is absolutly incredible...Dems are in complete denial of the resistance against a very bad idea. Libs are so used to thier huddled masses sheeping along...never to question their authority..... Take a good look people at the real face of democrats.
  9. Well, there is one aspect of the cash for clunkers that makes me chuckle. 4 of the top 5 cars bought on the program are from non union companies who built plants in the USA. Only Ford has a car in the top 5 and Government Motors STILL isn't building cars Americans want to buy.... I'm still waiting on my "pool for clunkers" program, but the wife is getting tired of waiting.
  10. Why I referenced the sales of the Ford truck. This IS a ponzi scheme. I wouldn't be surprised if Obama isn't calling Madoff in prison to understand the finer points of ponzi. Unfortunately, as the Ponzi scheme loses steam, "we the people" will be holding the bill.
  11. Saw Gates on the tube making excuses for Geithner who told the truth that taxes will need to go up. Funny stuff. If it isn't Obama saying something stupid, its Biden...Or geithner, or Gates.....
  12. It certainly smells....I'm really trying to find a postive in this....and the only positive I can find is the extra billions will likely come from the "stimulus" money, which in itself is a big waste, but at least I see where the money is going, for someone to purchase a new Ford F150. The year of the handout continues. I want a new mower and the wife wants a pool....wonder if there is stimulus for it.
  13. My esteemed congressman, Bart Gordon, decided there was no need for open meetings regarding healthcare reform. Considering how others have went, I'm not surprised. I'm encouraging everyone to become active and contact your reps. This is too important an issue to have the public opinion squelched. 14. For some (known) reason, I get the feeling Obama will not be held to the same standard as George Bush 1.... The trial balloon has been floated....They got to pay for the tremendous amount of (our) money libs are giving away and printing. We are told, if we want to grow, we need to be taxed. So, the tax us to prosperity is alive and well and yet again, another liberal promise will bite the dust...Truthfully, it already did, as taxes have gone up. WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama's treasury secretary said Sunday he cannot rule out higher taxes to help tame an exploding budget deficit, and his chief economic adviser would not dismiss raising them on middle-class Americans as part of a health care overhaul. As the White House sought to balance campaign rhetoric with governing, officials appeared willing to extend unemployment benefits. With former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan saying he is "pretty sure we've already seen the bottom" of the recession, Obama aides sought to defend the economic stimulus and calm a jittery public. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and National Economic Council Director Larry Summers both sidestepped questions on Obama's intentions about taxes. Geithner said the White House was not ready to rule out a tax hike to lower the federal deficit; Summers said Obama's proposed health care overhaul needs funding from somewhere. "There is a lot that can happen over time," Summers said, adding that the administration believes "it is never a good idea to absolutely rule things out, no matter what." During his presidential campaign, Obama repeatedly vowed "you will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime." But the simple reality remains that his ambitious overhaul of how Americans receive health care - promised without increasing the federal deficit - must be paid for."If we want an economy that's going to grow in the future, people have to understand we have to bring those deficits down. And it's going to be difficult, hard for us to do. And the path to that is through health care reform," Geithner said. "We're not at the point yet where we're going to make a judgment about what it's going to take." Selling that proposal, however, has proved tricky. On Friday, the government released a report that suggested the worst recession in the United States since World War II appears on the verge of ending. The economy dipped only slightly in the second quarter of this year - falling at a 1 percent annual pace, better than expected. The president cautioned against instant turnaround, though. "Well, as I've said, I think we maybe are beginning to see the end of the recession, but it's still going to be some time before we are seeing companies hiring again. That's usually the last thing that happens," Obama said in an interview with Univision that aired on Sunday. "So I think we are still going to have a tough remainder of the year - probably until next year - but, you know, at least what we are seeing - we've pulled back from the possibility of a depression. That's not the danger." Many analysts think the economy is starting to grow again in the current quarter, setting up a long-awaited recovery. "Most private forecasters - and let's use their judgment - suggest you're going to see unemployment start to come down maybe beginning in the second half of next year," Geithner said, adding those same economists predict positive growth during the second half of this year. At the same time, Geithner and other administration officials are contemplating how to ask Congress to extend - again - unemployment benefits for the millions of Americans who have lost their jobs in recent months. The proposal drew measured support from Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., as long as the benefits are drawn from the already approved economic stimulus package. "We need to take care of those who are unemployed, but we also need to make sure they get jobs," he said. Those jobs, though, are still elusive. Greenspan said the economy is slowly coming back. "Collapse, I think, is now off the table. We were teetering for a while," he said. Greenspan said he doesn't think the Federal Reserve should be considering raising interest rates to ward off inflation, although he added that the Fed will have to rein in credit and raise rates at some point. Obama's opponent for the presidency, Sen. John McCain, questioned whether the administration's actions will prove beneficial for the country. "I think it's pretty clear, if you pump trillions of dollars into the economy, you will see some recovery," the Arizona Republican said while giving Obama credit for the improvement. "But the long-term consequences, I think, are going to be, unfortunately, devastating unless we do something about it." Geithner and Greenspan appeared on ABC's "This Week." Summers appeared on NBC's "Meet the Press" and CBS's "Face the Nation." DeMint was interviewed on "Fox News Sunday." McCain spoke with CNN's "State of the Union."
  15. Dandy, I have considered doing just that when I can find the time. And I very much appreciate why someone would want to carry a gun when carrying bank deposits or that sort of activity, where you may be more likely to be targeted as a victim. The views I expressed involved the sorts of settings that have been debated of late -- going out to dinner or going to watch a sporting event. After taking the class, listening and understanding all the perils of carrying, I am very selective in when and where I may carry.... Rarely do I carry. I'm like you...I do not believe every person who has a permit will do the correct thing in a given situation, but if that person has taken the time, money and responsibility to take the carry (permit) class, then my trust factor is extremely high and that trust is validated by the lack of issues with those who have carry permits. I certainly feel less threatened from a patron of a business who may have a legal weapon on him or her than I do from the possibility, however remote, of being held up by nervous, anxious, gun waving criminal element.

  17. Like my situation.... After hours, money collected, deposits being gathered......If I were a manager of any retail establishment i'd have my permit and I would carry. When I took the class, there were several business owners I recognized. In todays climate, alway better to be prepared. I do not feel threatened understanding someone may be carrying in a restaurant.
  18. Coach, I've never carried into a restaurant.....Not that I could not, but I understand I am responsible for my actions, even if protecting myself or family. I'm more concerned exiting my business, deposits, bank drive thru...those situations where I'm more likely to run into an unsavory element where it would not be a random act, but calculated. I can understand angst if your fav places are bars, joints, clubs, etc......But if I'm in Flemings or even a chain like Outback, I do not feel threatened...and neither do I if someone is carrying.
  19. Rick, you should invest the time to take the class allowing carry permits. I have never had the "urge" to carry, but thought it in my best interest to take the permit class and better understand the law.
