  1. Coach Alexander will be a good fit at Cumberland. He is inheriting a team that has several good athletes and players. Most of the team was comprised of freshmen and sophmores last year, so he will not be in to bad of shape.
  2. Congradulations to Coach Joslin for being named Region 3-5A coach of the year, for the second year in a row. He is one of the best coaches in this state and is respected by his players, parents and fellow coaches. He exibits all the leadership qualities that put him among the best. It was a privilege to watch him coach my son at CHS.
  3. Cookeville wishes LA the best of luck and go out and win the state. Your not the underdog in my opinion, you are the favorite because you deserve it. Go out and play your best and you will end up reaching the goals that your team has been playing for all year. GO WILDCATS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Just wanted to wish Livingston Academy this best of luck in the 3A finals. You guy's have been playing with as much heart as any team I have seen in many years. Make the Upper Cumberland region proud and win the state. This Cookevillian says GO WILDCATS !!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Dont forget the long line at the ticket counter. Hope you already got your tickets. Probably not!! The station can be picked up locally and that is about it. 5 hours and 15 minutes till gametime!!!!!!! Cavs, show everyone what you can do, cause people can talk and talk for days, that is why you play the game. CHS-21 RHS-17 GO CAVS!!!!!!!
  6. The reason this thread has made it to page 13 already is twofold: 1. Cavalier fans realize that they truly have a shot at beating Riverdale this Friday night. 2. Riverdale fans realize that for the first time, Cookeville truly has a shot at beating them Friday night. The Cavaliers get it done Friday night. Cookeville 26 Riverdale 21 GO CAVS ! GO CAVS ! GO CAVS ! GO CAVS !
  7. This will be your quickess directions to CHS field. Take I-40 east to exit 288 and exit onto ramp. This will put you on Hwy 111. Take left onto Hwy 111 and drive @ 3 miles, until you reach the second exit. (Algood exit) Get off exit and this will put you on East 10th street. There will be a McDonalds to your right for verification. Take a left onto E 10th Street and proceed to the second stop light. Turn right onto Fisk road and proceed to the first stop light. Turn left and you will see the stadium. This will put you directly into the visitors parking area ($2.00) and well worth it, not to have to walk 1/2 mile. PS. Exit 287 has resturant row, with just about every place to eat that the boro has. Have a safe trip to Cookeville
  8. After watching the Cookeville / Wilson Central game last night, the Cavs truly have a shot at beating Riverdale. They seem to improve every week. Next Friday nights game will be a real barn burner. GO CAVS !!!!!!
  9. Game day Cavs, time to take it to Wilson Central tonight. Joslin has the guy's ready for tonights game. My prediction says Cavs 36 - WC 20. GO CAVS !!!!!!!
  10. Defense wins this game for the Cavs. Joslin will have the defense ready to show up big against WC. Go Cavs!!
  11. Joslin will have the Cavs ready for Wilson Central. I can just imagine what defensive schemes he will throw at them. It will be a tough game, but the Cavs will prevail. GO CAVS !!!!
  12. Looking over Cookeville's opponents passing stats for the past ten games: 62 of 159 for 639 yards, 2 TD's, 14 INT's. Averaging 63.90 yards per game. Not what I would call a stellar performance for Cookeville's opponents.
  13. The Cavs need to give Franklin County the utmost respect and come out and play them hard. The Cavs need to geer up for the playoffs and play some of their football this year.
  14. Zac Hennigan from Cookeville HS is putting up some excellent numbers this year. So far over nine games he is 65 of 109 for 1,224 yards, 16 TD's and 3 INT's. A 59.6% QB rating. I consider this very amazing since this is his first year playing QB at all for Cookeville. He is tall and very quick plus he has a good arm. In the Crossville game, I watched him roll outside the right side hash mark and throw back across his body probably 40 yards for a endzone touchdown. Forgot to mention that he also plays DB. The kid is a athlete.
  15. Cookeville built up a 42 to 7 halftime lead and then played reserves the remainder of the game. The defense looked good and the offense pushed the ground game all night long. Not much downfield passing, but the Cavs were never put into the position of having to throw. Wolf was spectacular for the Cavs, scoring on offense, defense and special teams. Great job Cavs!
  16. Game day and the Cavs will be ready to play. I do not think it will be a blow out, but the Cavs will win. Cookeville 20 Lincoln Co. GO CAVALIERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Halftime Cookeville leads 35-0. The Cavs have scored everytime they have touched the ball except just before half. Go CAVS!
  18. Look for the Cavs to bring it all tonight. Cookeville is starting to put things together and are improving every week. Go CAVS!
  19. The heck with sports writers and AP voters. The Cavs deserve at least a top ten ranking with the only loss to Ooltewah in overtime. Check out Murphy Fair's top 5. Cookeville is #5 through week 4. Looks like Murphy has some sense. The Cavs are improving every week.
  20. Looks like Columbia is at Smyrna, so they don't have to here the train horn. Columbia still wins by 10.
  21. Smyrna better be ready when they go to Columbia. I have seen a few games between Columbia and Cookeville over the past three years and I telling you that they play smash mouth football. Extremely hard hitting games and I bet that they still play the same style of football. Also, does Columbia still have the train horn. Gosh I hated that thing. Columbia should win this one by 10.
  22. Cavs beat Coffee County 28 - 13 tonight. Looks like they got off on the right foot in trying to win the region again this year. Go Cavs!!!
  23. Cookeville is due to put a complete game together. I still do not think that the offense and defense have played up to their potential yet. Cavs win by 10.
  24. Cavs are coming off a disappointing loss to the Ooltewah and need to be ready for a much improved White Co. team. I look for the Cavs to improve of their defensive performance this week, stopping the run. I think this game will be closer than expected, due to the rivalry. Cookeville wins by 9.
  25. Anyone who knows Cookeville football and Coach J should know that he never shows all his cards in srimages, especially when they could have been scouted. He is looking to get his players experience. Cookeville starters did match up with Oak Ridge. A couple of long offensive drives (fake punt and all) looked impressive. Oak Ridge is a good football team and deserves their ranking, but I know the Cavs will be right up in the mix this year. If Ooltewah underestimates the Cavs, then it will be lights out.
