  1. Its still a ways off, but weather.com is showing a much improved forecast for the upcoming week than it initially was late Friday night. There is no telling how many people could show up for this one if the weather cooperates. Its gonna be a barn burner
  2. Lets hope for the best weather wise. I'd really like to see this game on a dry field. Gwave, I'm with you, I think Beech is just as good if not better than Henry Co. so it will be of the utmost importance that the Wave is ready. I like the idea of playing the underdog role
  3. So here it is! The 5A state quarterfinals are coming back to Sumner Co. Gallatin is coming off a huge, emotional win over 5A favorite, Henry Co., while Beech has been camped out on The Hill shaking off Clarksville teams like its nothing for two weeks. This matchup is a testament to the strength of Sumner Co. football! I am proud to be a part of it. What are your thoughts and opinions on this District 9AAA rematch?
  4. I am so pumped about this game that i am leaving work early tomorrow just to prep for the game. From all I am hearing, HC has a great kicking game, but (not to gloat) I am confident that Gallatin's is better. Satterfeild has hit two 50+ this year and just missed (wide right) a 56 last week at NW that would have been good from 60. I am already impressed by the hospitality of the HC fans. I have NEVER been invited to tailgate with an opponents' fans. This should be a really fun trip to Paris! See yall tomorrow! GO BIG G
  5. Gallatin is 4-2 on the road this season with wins at Hillsboro, Station Camp, Beech, and Clarksville NW. The Wave went 4 quarters at 6A Mount Juliet and of course the catastrophe at Hendersonville.
  6. Henry Co. on offense has a true playmaker at QB, with a bruising runningback. The WR's are physical and can get behind the secondary in a heartbeat. The line's big - moreso tall than round, but big nonetheless. They'll go from the spread for the most part, but have become fond of lining up in the I when need be. On defense they're very strong up the middle - A huge D line. Fast backers, an abosolute ballhawk at MLB in #56. The secondary is very capitalizing. You can get some yards through the air, but one mistake can change everything. How's the kicker from Gallatin? How's strong is his leg? Gallatin's kicker, Satterfield has an amazing leg. I'd say no more than a hand full of kickoffs have been returnable all season. It's rare that you see a kid with such a strong leg that is as accurate as he is at the high school level.
  7. What sort of team is Henry Co.? What offense? Star players? Etc. Gallatin is, and always has been, a run first. You will see a couple of different offensive sets, but mainly the spread. The wave has fast backs and a strong run D (I.E. Northwest Wiley held to 55 yards). I already am pumped for this game. Advisor, expect a large Gallatin crowd. It was standing room only at Northwest
  8. Alright, no more worring about looking ahead. This one is finally here! This game is going to be HUGE out in Paris on Friday night! What are your thoughts on this game? GO WAVE
  9. I, for one, am pumped for this game. After all I have heard about NW, Gallatin can win this game if they play like they did 8 out of 10 weeks this season. I can not wait to see this one! It is always lots of fun to visit an unfamiliar foe. GO WAVE
  10. I have done a bit of number crunching this morning and have found that it would be hard pressed to find a more even matchup on paper than this is going to be up in Clarksville on Friday night. Record: Gallatin 7-3 NW 7-3 Points/Game: G 25.5 NW 27.1 Points/Allowed/Game: G 11.7 NW 14.6 Avg/Victory: G +13.8 NW +7.1 Oppt/Ovrall Record: G 46-54 NW 47-53 Common Oppt/Beech: G W7-0 NW L19-21 Streak: G L1 NW W5
  11. Wow, I never anticipated this much trash talking when I opened this thread. It is almost like we are back in Region 5-5A with all those "classy" metro teams 20-2 all time... can you even call that a rivalry? Looks more like the neighbors to the north own the Bucs to me. As far as wins, tradition, and class goes, Gallatin had all that long before Hendersonville decided to put a farm team together in Shackle Island and call them the Bucs GoldDust, when you say Gallatin will quit, do you mean like when R.J. Medows put the ball on the ground on the 1 yard line to give the win the the Wave back in 2002? Just curious
  12. MJPride, you hit the nail on the head when you said that the Gallatin fans still really don't know where the Wave stands. Sure, we smacked JPII around like it was nothing, but in all honesty, we only had to run about 5-6 offensive plays. Good luck getting any tips on that game film The only thing I do know is that the Wave D is pretty solid all around. This is going to be an outstanding matchup and maybe Gallatin's most difficult opponent all season (up there with Brentwood and Hendersonville).
  13. I can't wait for this game. Not just because it is the season opener, but it is the first time that Gallatin and JPII go at it. I was really hoping to hear a little more out of the JPII faithful, but I guess they are too busy making posts on the debate team forums to talk a little football I kid, I kid
  14. What does Blackman look like in this young 09 season? Gallatin looked pretty strong against Smyrna in their scrimmage last Friday. Aside from two early false starts, the offense looked pretty good. The defense was great having two forced fumbles inside the 5, recovering both, and enriquez perry picked off a pass in full stride from Smyrna's first team offense.
  15. It is great to be back on here talking Gallatin Football! I am looking forward to visiting Riverdale for the first time in a long time to see these two teams square off even if it is just for a spring scrimmage. Should be a dang good one. As for the start time and location (practice field or stadium) of the scrimmage? Any more info? Gallatinfootball.com says that the scrimmage is at 5pm but it has been awhile since it was updated so I'm not sure if that is accurate or not???
  16. Its gameday fellas /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  17. It is great to see the Sumner County teams all doing so well, and since the majority of these teams will be in the same region next year, it shows that the competition will be intense.
  18. An interesting stat, Centennial has beaten only one team with a winning record all year.
  19. This one is getting alot of attention, and in my opinion, is one of the more interesting matchups around the state in 5-A this week. I hope Centennial brings a following like they did in the '04 season when they came to Gallatin. Should be an electrifying atmosphere!
  20. I know very little about Centennial; however, if they have a hard time stopping the run, then Gallatin will have their way with the Cougar defense. Gallatin will pound the rock from the shotgun all night until you disrespect the pass then throw right over the cheating linebackers' head for 30+ yards. Scales may have unmatched speed, but Gallatin plays teams week in and week out that have track star backs and suspect defenses. I wouldn't underestimate the Green Wave in this one.
  21. Hendersonville is a very good football team. Yazzie is a spectacular player, but H-ville CAN NOT let the 1 vs 4 seed go to their heads. Ravenwood can beat any team any time, just ask BA, Brentwood, and Gallatin two of the last four years.
  22. Gallatin came out a little flat thinking that they had an easy game, but the Wave was without their starting RB and and their #1 WR (precautionary measures). You just worry about Ravenwood, H-ville. Hope to see yall in a couple more weeks
  23. Congrats H-ville. You guys earned this one. Be careful, though. Ravenwood has a history of ruining playoff runs prematurely.
  24. All region 5-5A eyes are on this game. Winner plays at home, loser comes to Gallatin. Can't wait for the outcome of this one. Should be one great game in Williamson Co. to end out the regular season.
  25. I hope Franklin thinks the same way you do, that the first two rounds of the playoffs are gimmies. Thats an easy way to get yourself a seat in the stands watchin a game you could have been playing in.
