  1. Tonight, I watched the poorest example of sportsmanship by a "leader" of young men i have ever witnessed. Westmoreland Middle was up on Sycamore 24-0 at halftime. Sycamore's head coach requested to forgo the second half, however, the Westmoreland staff did not agree due to an opportunity to play the younger kids. This coach had his offense kneel on every play in the second half. Its bad enough to tell 12 and 13 year old boys to go out on the field and quit, but what happened next was inexcusable. At the end of the game, the teams lined up to shake hands, when the Sycamore coach yelled for his team to return to the sideline and turned his back to the Westmoreland team. Refusing to allow his young men the opportunity to display sportsmanship. This man is a disgrace to the sport but moreover a disgrace to the young men he represents. The TSSAA does its best to promote sportsmanship with pregame meetings and announcements to the fans to conduct themselves in a positive manner. I truly hope TSSAA takes notice of this disgusting display of disrespect and takes action to eliminate the possibility of this coach using this platform to promote malice in the future.
  2. From what I have seen of Gallatin so far (which isn't whole lot but enough to form an opinion), the Wave is going to live and die by ball control this season. With that being said, Gallatin is built to do just that, control the ball. If they can methodically run the ball on this MJ team, Gallatin has a shot. If not, could be a long night for the Wave.
  3. What an incredible atmosphere tonight. I'd love to see a total on the number of people in attendance. Hats off to the Bucs. They execute their offense very well. The hurry up robs the defense of a chance to sub and it's hard to stop. In a game like this, there is very little margin of error. Unfortunately even the slightest of errors caused the Wave to come up just short. I would love to see these two meet again down the road!
  4. I have to agree with you on this one, eers. I see this one being decided by 7 or less.
  5. I hope to see a refreshed Gallatin team following the bye week. There were some execution concerns in the Hunters Lane game that I am positive the staff has drilled in over the off week. This is certainly the type of game you can throw the records out the window. These teams live for beating each other.
  6. Gallatin is finally getting some recognition in the AP poll, for what it's worth. The bye week came at a good time to get some much needed rest and recovery. I would expect some huge gates at the next 2 games. As many have mentioned, the wave cannot overlook Hendersonville. With the rich rivalry between Gallatin and Hendersonville, I have a hard time buying into the trap game theory.
  7. Coming of their 4th straight shutout and enjoying a bye week, let's talk about this: Just how good is Gallatin? Where does the Wave stand in the 5A hierarchy?
  8. For those keeping score at home, Gallatin still isn't good enough to make the Top 10 in 5A AP Poll. Almost as if to say "Gallatin won't be a factor".
  9. This one has all the makings of a fantastic showdown between two very good football teams. There's no doubt WC will be out to avenge a lopsided loss to Mt. Juliet last week, while Gallatin hopes to continue to ride the momentum from a commanding homecoming win. If you play the common opponent game, Gallatin wins by 32. I hardly see that as accurate. This one should be much closer than that. Who ya got?
  10. Gallatin improves to 5-0 and has a glorious homecoming. Clock runs the entire second half... That is all
  11. These two teams are going to learn a lot about themselves and where they stand tonight. Cant wait to stand in the 3 deep crowd around the fence since i can't get there at 4 pm.
  12. Briggs is definitely special. But there is some great talent on the defensive side for Gallatin that few are talking about. MJ will be tested establishing the run in this one.
  13. Gallatin comes in at #11 in the 5A AP Poll this week.. What do you all make of that?
  14. I'd look for a packed house out at Mt Juliet Friday. Both of these teams have large fan bases and the deep rivalry will bring out the masses. The Wave has to stay humble. MJ is a tough place to go in and come out with a W.
  15. HIllsboro has to be one of the biggest lines in the state. Unfortunately not very disciplined with double digit pre snap pentalties. I would not expect that from MJ.
  16. I am looking forward to the showcase of defenses in this game. Sounds like both are quick to the ball. Low scoring affair?
  17. Lets go ahead and get this topic going early. I have a feeling its gonna be a hot topic this week. Gallatin comes into this game with a full head of steam after a crazy week of musical stadiums in a game against Hillsboro that finally settled at Calvin Short field. After lots of chatter, the Wave handled business with ease leaving the question around the midstate: "Is Gallatin really that good, or is Hillsboro down". This week will be the litmus test. Mt. Juliet comes in looking to have gotten back on track with a convincing win over county rival Lebanon, who I believe is a solid football team. The Golden Bears will no doubt come in to this one looking to prove they are very much a force to be reckoned with. Lets hear those opinions folks. There will no doubt be a fantastic game come Friday night.
  18. Let's hear the opinions... How does moving this game to Gallatin change things?
  19. If you weren't at this game, let me tell you, as the final seconds ticked off a celebration ensued on the Wave sidelines and stands that I haven't seen in a long, long time. It was reminiscent of the glory days. Lots of chatter around this Wave squad and the new coaching staff and for good reason. Is it too early to throw the name Spencer Briggs into the Mr. Football discussion? 432 rushing yards in 2 games...
  20. There wont be any lack of motivation to get pumped up for this game from either team. It feels strange going into this game without any region implications, but don't fool yourself. This game means just as much as any region game to the kids, coaches and fans of both of these teams Gallatin has bounced back admirably since the Mt Juliet game. I was concerned that game would derail the season even though MJ has beat the brakes off everyone they have played. I am very impressed with the adjustments the coaching staff has made throughout this season. Gallatin's defense is special this season and I expect they will be turned all the way up tonight. I very much enjoyed reading the H-ville insight of this thread as i have not seen them play this year. Just looking at the Commando schedule and their success vs opponents thus far, they are a hard team to peg. A couple of impressive wins and one or two losses that are head scratchers. Should be a great game tonight and the gate, as always, shouldnt disappoint the home team.
  21. I must agree with most of this post. This matchup is the first of 3 games this season that should determine the top 3 in the region. Gallatin vs Hillsboro, Beech vs Hillsboro, and Beech Vs Gallatin. Gallatin has to clean up the turnovers and penalties. The Wave has yet to play at its full potential this season. Im not one to "throw out" games on a team's record, but you might as well treat Hillsboro like a 1-0 team. BA is head and shoulders above anyone in the state.
  22. "A very good Antioch team" was an attempt to sound like an unbiased Gallatin fan. And yes, they did look good (in comparison to past seasons) against SC. Shall I change my tone to "YeeHaww, Bison suck! Wave by 247 in this one" so ill fit in?
  23. This week yields the match up that a lot of these kids look forward to all year long. Gallatin Vs Station Camp has become the battle of annual bragging rights for the city of Gallatin. A lot of these guys will be playing against buddies, cousins, former team mates.. It should make for great football! Gallatin comes off a win over Springfield that left mixed feelings among the staff and fan base. A very sloppy, penalty riddled game that was tough to watch at times. Though there were some bright spots, there is plenty of work to be done for the Wave. Station Camp comes off a heartbreaking loss to a very good Antioch team. One more first down could have sealed the victory for the Bison, but the W slipped away on a forced fumble.. Can the Bison regroup and be ready for arguably the biggest non-region game of the year?
  24. Alright folks, here is one of the biggest matchups in 5A this week! Post your predictions and opinions on this thread. I'm looking forward to getting some input from the HC faithful. These teams have a rich history and this matchup never seems to disappoint.
