  1. I thought I might get you interested with the Region crown talk, hville. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  2. Gallatin comes into this pivital Region 5-5A matchup with mixed feelings from an impressive outing by John Overton. With starting QB Cody Matthews going down in the first quarter of the Overton game with a possible concussion, the Wave has a big question mark hanging over their heads. Fortunatly, the offense was still able to produce on a pretty good Bobcat D with senior QB Enriquez Perry under center. What does this spell for the Hunters Lane game Friday night? Only time will tell. Could this game be for the Region 5-5A crown???
  3. Those are some pretty impressive stats. If I had read them without knowing Overton's record I certainly wouldn't guess them to be 1-5. Gallatin can't afford to overlook this team. Can't wait to get back home tomorrow night and see some football in G-town.
  4. Any insight on the Bobcats players? I saw the second half of the Hunters Lane game, but there really wasn't much to see. Does Overton have any big time athletes, offensivly or otherwise?
  5. The Bobcats looked pretty rough against Hunters Lane last week with the exception of the one 10:05 drive to start the second half. They seem to have the ability to throw the ball, but I don't think they are consistent enough to play 4 quarters with the Green Wave. Gallatin needs to keep doing what they did against Antioch, feed the ball to Holder and throw in that pass to keep them honest. I just don't think Overton's D is good enough to contain Gallatin's offense this year.
  6. Its obvious right now that HL is in the driver's seat. Funny thing is, in one week that could all change. I think the Gallatin vs Hunters Lane game will be for the region with H-ville finishing third.
  7. The Hunters Lane Vs John Overton game that took place on Thurs. 10/2/08 is not listed as a region game in the schedules. Is there any way you could correct that? Thanks, Gtowner
  8. It was great to see the Wave get back on track and bring the average back up to 34 points per game. Its time to come back home now and take care of business against John Overton next week.
  9. Gallatin had a tough go versus Smyrna, but somthing tells me that Antioch's D isn't on the same level as Smyrna's. Gallatin MUST hold its own on the D-line. Last week Smyrna's O line killed them all night. Lets hope the offense can stay on the field for more than 5 minutes this Friday. I will take Gallatin in a high scoring affair.
  10. The Lebanon KR was the one that I remembered. Regardless, to say Smyrna's Special Teams will own Gallatin is quite absurd. I can not wait for this game!!!!
  11. I can only remember one kickoff all season that didn't go into the endzone, and trust me, Gallatin has kicked off more than 11 times. You will be shocked by the wave kicking game.
  12. As much as I would like to see Gallatin hang up 30+ on Smyrna, it just ain't gonna happen Squosh. Gallatin has a potent offense, much more so than the past few years, but Smyrna is the best D that they have faced and probably will face all year. Like Gwave said earlier, I think this one will be a bit more low scoring. However, I do agree that the Dawgs will have to score more than 17 to beat the Wave. I am gonna take Gallatin 21-10
  13. Here is how these two teams stack up numbers wise: Record: Gallatin 4-0 Smyrna 2-3 To date Opp. record: G 4-12 S 15-9 Points/Game: G 37.8 S 7.2 Points Allowed/Game: G 13.5 S 12.4 Margin of Victory: G +24.3 S -5.2 Common Opp (@ Lebanon) G win 33-30 S win 7-6
  14. Lets get this one started early. I think this is going to be an awesome game and, though it is still six days away, I can hardly wait. It is good to be playing Smyrna again. It is always alot of fun to play the Region 4 schools. What are your thoughts on the game? Any insight on Smyrna Football 2008?
  15. I have not heard anyone gloating about how great Gallatin was because they blew out Glencliff or Hillwood. The fact that they blew out a good Mt. Juliet team might be something to brag about, but even that wasn't "blown out of context". You can only play the games on the schedule.
  16. This one was never really a game. Gallatin moved the ball at will pretty much all night long. Glencliff had a couple good athletes (QB #10 and WR #7) but they had very little success offensivly gaining just under 100 total yards. The wave will need another good week of practice and to be focused as they travel to Smyrna on Friday.
  17. Im not sure that Glencliff knows anything more about their identity than I do coming into this game. As Gwave alluded to, the Colts have been quite sparatic in their offense this season. Gallatin will need to stay focused and really work on the secondary this week. How is the Glencliff run D? With Holder still averaging over 10 yards per carry, that will be key for the Colts. With that said, Gallatin should come out on top in this one if they keep their head in the game.
  18. Any update on the current situation with the possible cut of athletics in Wilson Co? That would be a travisty for these young athletes.
  19. I, for one, cannot wait for this game. I look for it to be a close contest all the way to the end. Like Gwave alluded too, the MJ wing-t could cause some trouble for the Wave D. They still have not proven that they can contain the big play. They even gave up a huge play in the Hillwood game. I really hope there is no case of the big head after the Hillwood game, I mean, they might as well have been playin Schaffer Middle. With that said, if the Wave plays to full potential, they can come away from this contest 3-0.
  20. If this absurd event were to happen, these student should be allowed to transfer to another county system to play sports. It is not fair for the county to rip this away from the students. Athletic scholarships are the ONLY way for some students to get into college. That is promising for our future isn't it? Lets elimante another avenue for students to get into america's already extremely unaffordable post secondary education institutes!!! Way to go Wilson County, You are making a real BONEHEAD move on this one!!!!!
  21. I agree with Gwave, with the unbelievable lack of depth, it really isn't fair for Hillwood to be playing at the 5A level. I think (football wise) a rezoning will be the best possible thing for the toppers. That will get them in a lower classification that (depth wise) they will match up better in. I hope that the toppers aquire a better following in the future. Good luck the rest of the way, guys. Congrats to the Wave for a dominate win. Keep it going next week for the Bears of Mt. Juliet.
  22. I can't wait to get out to the Wave Yard for the first home game of the season. Anyone have any idea if the "stadium renovations" are complete?
  23. Antioch has had a very difficult schedule thus far, so don't look too deep into their 0-2 record. This one is going to be an important 5-5A matchup. With that said, I will take HL in a close but high scoring affair.
  24. I agree wave88. the corner play must improve. Also, Gallatin will not be able to continue to miss tackles like they did in the first half of the Lebanon game last Friday. If they can correct those two things, they will look pretty solid.
  25. Gallatin comes into this game with the momentum of a lifetime after an unbelievable comeback win over the Lebanon Blue Devils last Friday. Will they be able to keep it going when they play the Hilltoppers of Hillwood in their home opener at the Wave Yard Friday night? Hillwood comes into this game with an 0-2 record, losing to both Father Ryan in week 0 and Lavergn last week. I have not heard much about the Toppers, but I do know that Lavergn is supposed to be way down this year and they handed it to Hillwood last week 28-10. Though Gallatin vs. Hillwood was a very close game last year, with the Wave having to hold off an outstanding late game drive to win, I don't think this season's matchup will be as close. The main advantage that Gallatin will have in this one is going to be depth. Look for this one to be close for a quarter or two but for the Wave to pull away later in the game.
