My vote goes to Weatherly of Perry County.

I think the T-shirt thing is funny too. My honest assessment of the talent coming up through the ranks is going to be pretty good for a few years to come. Weatherly and Edney are going to be hard to replace but Lobelville has a post player C. Whited I think will get some playing time next year as a freshman, they have a 7th grader Brook Warren,could be the best player coming out of Lobelville in a long time. She will start as a freshman. They also have a 6th grade post player N. McCaig that will be a bull in the paint like Weatherly. Linden has a 6th grader Simmons that pretty good and some younger players coming along. You are right Billy Ray's teams of the 80's and 90's were good.

Wildchick I to think Leegan and K Dabbs are great players to be freshman. I said in an early post that the girls coming out of Lobelville were fundamentaly sound players and that is starting to show in the high school program Billy Ray had a T-shirt with Edney's name on the back and one of the parents from Linden ask Mr Eric why don't you get a shirt and put, rest of the team on the back of it.

Horsefly, I don't know if Edney is the best player on that team. I got one question where would that team be without weatherly and Leegan but it takes a team and good coaching to WIN state and I think Perry County has that. I got to give Perry County coaches credit with the line-up they went with in the 4th quarter againest summertown that's what they had to do to win.

Becca Leegan and Kazraye Dabbs from Perry County are pretty good.

Perry County has two pretty good ones in Leegan and Kaz Dabbs.

Coach Willard teams play hard I guess the best way to explane it is to quote what Nolan Richardson said about Arkansas a few years back. When you play summertown expect 32 min of heck.

ptguard12 I believe the tournament in Linden has teams from McEwen,Lewis County,Lobelville,Hickman County,Waynesboro and Linden. The girls coach at Linden set the brackets up with McEwen,Lobelville and Lewis County all in the same bracket of course he's playing Hickman County the only team he beat this summer in camp. One side of the bracket will have some good games,but I do not think the finals will be very good.

ptguard12 I agree with you on the Freshmen in 12a I had the pleasure of watching Leegan play all her 8th grade games. You were also correct that she played solid defense and dribble the ball well, that was her job in 8th grade. Kazaray Dabbs was getting about 15ppg, when Kaz would get in foul trouble Becca would step her game up. She had 18 points in one game she also had four treys againest Lakeview. I do not think her shot was horrible but she has gotten a lot better. Becca and all the girls from Lobelville Middle come to the High School program fundlementley sound. The High School Coach can take the girls an put them into his system and they can play early. The High School Coach can not do that if he to teach them to dribble,pass,blockout and shoot ect. Now look at the High School program and see who is playing. If Robbins had not quit and I think she will be sorry for that. You would at times saw a line up with Edney,Leegan,Rhodes,Robbins and Weatherly and you will see a line up with Edney,Leegan,Kaz Dabbs,Rhodes and Weatherly. All from Lobelville Middle except Edney. If you talk to Summertowns Coach about Perry County Basketball he will ask what does Lobelville have coming up.

Mike Rhodes was the best shooter,he could use the glass better than anyone I can remember seeing play the game. I have watched more games than Bobby Knight.

This is a old thread going back to Feb. I think the Perry County coach is doing alot better. I doged him some last year,but coach Lee is young coach that is getting better each year. What wrong with Rhodes whispering in Lee ear after all he is a coach too. Basketball and Rhodes kind of goes together Mike and Dave both played in the SEC. Perry County by 10.

Lori is not on Motlow States Roster. Does anyone else know where she's playing.
