  1. JPat, I never thought I would see the day that I actually posted something amiable towards you. We have had our wars haven't we? It does take a big man however, to say that you have been wrong. I appreciate that, adn I am sure everyone else on here does. Oakland2001, I suggest giving him a game that will be moderately easy to pick. Don't try to kill him. -JohnC
  2. In a lot of ways, both December 7(Pearl Harbor) and September 11(New York), are the same. A lot of people died when we were under a facade of safety. Yet we were woken up, and in an instant the nation united. We still are to an extent. I think seeing us unite as we did, instead of tear each other and the world apart, probably upset the terrorists a lot. Sequatchie, it is sad, but some probably do not know what happened on "that date." -JohnC
  3. I don't know if any of us have ever gone back to "normal lives." Yet after a dose of every-day life that Friday, a lot of people got out of "cry for 24 hours" mode. It was a good thing to use to get our minds off of that Tuesday. . . -JohnC
  4. I remember football practice on 9/11. . . It was during the break, between offense and defense workouts, when we were sitting on the sideline, and Coach McCreery(Coach Mack) came over and started talking to us. He said one thing to us that I remember very vividly: "Look up in the sky boys, you'll never see this in your lives again," and we all looked up wondering what he was talking about, "There's not a single plane in the sky." We had a great season, Blackman did, that year. 9/11 brought us together, I feel, as a team. It made us realize that we were a family. Some cried, others stared silently, others closed their eyes and held the tears back, as the national anthem was played that Friday. Good Lord I can't believe it's been two years already. God watch over and comfort the families of those who lost loved ones on that day. -JohnC
  5. And just so you know, I was bored and figured this out, my percentage right now is 93%. -JohnC
  6. JPat, we've sparred in the past, and for pretty dumb reasons. Yet we are going to once again. . . Oakland2001 is the moderator, so to speak, of the little contest here. He can choose to deny anyone the right to participate. You can post, but that doesn't mean he'll include you in the ratings. As for overall ratings, percentage is one way to go by it. However, if that were the case, if I picked one game a week adn got that one game right every week, I would have 100%. Is that fair though, to the people that pick every game every week? I do not think so. . . -JohnC
  7. Oakland won't be able to rebel against most predictions, and will lose this week. Lincoln County's speed and size will overpower a young Riverdale squad. The Green Wave will roll over the Bulldogs. The Bruins will win against the Blaze. Columbia over an inexperienced(big time) and injury plagued Star squad. LaVergne over Cumberland Co. Lebanon over Cookeville. Wilson Central over Mt. Juliet Tullahoma over Coffee Co. MBA over BGA -JohnC
  8. Give me a couple days. . .I need to ponder this one. -JohnC
  9. I do think they will win a game this year. -JohnC
  10. Lincoln County put the beat down on Blackman, so I hope Riverdale puts the beat down on them. Go Warriors! -JohnC
  11. Rooker is a good man, I hope it's not too serious. If it is though, what affect will that have on the Stars line? -JohnC
  12. It may be a big game, but it's still a non-region game. . . If they(Riverdale) lose, it won't hurt anything but their winning streak at Tomahawk. -JohnC
  13. We did beat the ball into the turf yesterday, which led to a pretty boring game I think, but an effective one. When we try to pass however, Dawson usually underthrows. If he makes it to the receiver, then the pass is either dropped or we ended up making a pretty decent gain. If Dawson can get the ball on target, and the receivers can catch consistantly, then we would have a pretty good chance of surprising people. One thing that I liked about Dawson is his running ability. I saw him more than once take off when he didn't see an option to throw to. Emerson did the same when he was out there. My compliments go to the Stars, they're a pretty good team, despite the final score. -JohnC
  14. Seems like everyone is picking about the same. . . -JohnC
  15. Thank you. . .My sentiments exactly. -JohnC
  16. I'll be there too, we need to find someone who can be at the game and tell us what is going on as it happens. . . -JohnC
  17. I think it will be close, but I still think Riverdale will pull the win. -JohnC
  18. I think we'll take the win this week. 459 or so yards given up last week against the rush by Siegel does not bode well for them this week. . . -JohnC
  19. I'll owe you big if you're right. . . -JohnC
  20. I knew that. . . -JohnC
  21. Another thing, I did not call you ignorant, nor did I call you immature. I merely agreed with your statement:
  22. I'd like you to cite the post in which I called you a name. And as for embarressment, I never said that I wasn't embarressed. I simply said that saying that you are glad that someone is embarressed is slightly classless. -JohnC
  23. Are you being serious when you say that Riverdale could lose? -JohnC
  24. Riverdale has never been beaten at home. I do not think they'll start now, especially given that they're going to be on tv. . . -JohnC
  25. I never called anyone a name. . . As to our winning tradition, having a playoff season three years in a row, losing only 7 regular season games in 3 years, in Region 4-5A has got to amount to something. I appreciate your admittance of ignorance, it saved me the trouble of having to fish it out of you. Are we touchy? Oh yes we are, but then again, when someone get's on here and say's that they are glad that we are embarressed, that is downright classless. Candor is a good word. Look it up sometime. If you use it, you won't incite a riot on the boards as you have with your original post. . . -JohnC
