  2. Thanks for the update. I had heard that Hahnfeldt wasn't back yet, but that's great news.
  3. Kickoff is 6:00pm. Gates open at 4:00. Big Red Walk(team enters the stadium through the quad) is at 5:15. Tailgating begins early.
  4. Does anyone know what the MBA kicking/punting situation is? I've heard we've got major problems in that area.
  5. OK, Bud, MBA has played DB the last two years. MBA beat them in Kingsport last year. I was referring to scrimmages. I don't think it's realistic for MBA to be scrimmaging a team located four hours away, like DB. As far as games go, I know for a fact that MBA called every 5A team in the state looking for a game and the only one that called back was LaVergne. At least somebody's got some guts. Why else would we be playing LaVergne, Southaven,Mississippi, and Louisville Trinity. Because we like road trips? Furthermore, its so hard for us to get JV games that we have to play a team twice.
  6. I must agree with notredame788's take on the scrimmage. I'm not trash talking, just being realistic when I say this, but Ezell should not have even been on the same field with MBA. I assume that scrimmage was set up because Rutledge THOUGHT "Randy" would give our secondary a good test before Trinity. He was wrong. I am embarassed FOR Ezell. Its a shame none of the big schools, besides Riverdale(who, by the way, won't play us in a REAL game)will scrimmage us.
  7. I heard that there is a pirate radio station out of Beersheba Springs that's going to be doing the Grundy County games.
  8. BigRed3, I will be very dissapointed if they change MBA's uniforms. They haven't been changed in like thirty years. Maybe I'm a traditionalist, but they need to stay the same. I always liked our uniforms because the were not like anyone else's. No need to copy a college or pro team.
  9. MBA should be very good. New coach, Todd Moran, has a football mind second to none and should have those boys ready to play.
  10. I heard that there is possibly an eight man football league in the making for some of the schools that don't have enough students to field a full squad. I don't think it would be part of the TSSAA and it would be mostly, if not entirely, private schools , mostly in Middle Tennessee. Curry Ingram Academy was one of the schools mentioned as looking to do this. Does anyone know anything about this?
  11. Sorry guys, but what is nice about Vanderbilt 's stadium? That place is terrible...by far the worst DI stadium I have seen. First of all, it's not any prettier than the Liberty Bowl or Neyland. Secondly, the design is horrible. It has one concourse, making the traffic flow very difficult(albeit, only when there is a good crowd, which is rare). The concession stands and bathrooms are also lacking. It has little, if any, covered or club seating. Vandy's locker room isn't even inside the stadium. They have to walk across the street to get to it.
  12. Trinity Alum, I would say that there's room for about 1,000 to 1,500 people in the visitors stands. It could be closer to 2,000, depending on how tight you can squeeze in. It is actually one of the bigger visitors sections that I have seen at a high school stadium in TN. My advice, however, would be to get there very early to get a seat.
  13. I think the '96 MBA vs. BA game was the largest home crowd in MBA history. Both sides were jammed and people lined the fence all the way around. Unfortunately, we lost(double OT) . Hopefully, the Trinity game will bring an even bigger crowd and a different result.
  14. Heard a rumor that they are bringing in temporary bleachers to put in the end zones for the game due to all the Trinity fans coming down. Also heard that we(MBA) have presold like 4,000 tickets to Trinity fans already. Any truth to this? If so, its going to be a heck of an environment. Also, this morning at 7:00am, as I was pulling into my office on West End I saw what looked like the entire MBA team, led by Coach Redmond, running east down the sidewalk, then about fifteen minutes later, headed back west toward school. For those of you that know the area, that's one heck of a run. That's the type of commitment that wins championships baby!. Roll Red!
