    7-AAA Scores

It seems I have ruffled the feathers of the Murfreesboro fans- both Oakland and Riverdale are great teams- and I congratulate them both. I don't have to eat crow because I posted earlier that the two favorites are Riverdale and Oakland. I only quoted the stats of the two catchers against Cookeville-they both were non factors in our game-that doesn't mean I don't think they are great players. You folks dish it out all the time-you need to learn to take some constructive jabs. We in Cookeville have learned over the last several years to be the whipping boy for the "boro" teams-well this year we beat everyone of you. Oh by the way how many home runs did Oakland hit against Cookeville in our 4 games- we hit 2 against Oakland!!!!

awatson went 1 for 7 against Cookeville swatson went 1 for 16 against Cookeville Real threats!!!
  3. Coachflo, I believe you make a good point and have articulated your argument well. Of course just being a fan I am not privy to what directive was given from the dugout-or what any of the players have said. Understand also my comment about revenge was not to be taken seriously, I in know way thought your pitcher was getting revenge. I just flippingly said that if revenge was the intent-then you succeeded. Now concerning the double steal to score- we have been ahead going late into the game and have lost 7 of our 10 loses by our relief pitching not being able to throw strikes. We have proven that we have been unable to hold a lead. You guys proved that against us in your big inning. I think the coach was thinking from past expereince- no lead is big enough for us. Our teams will not meet again in baseball until next spring-but in 3 months we will tee it up on the gridiron and the rivalry will heat up again. You guys played us well this year!!!!
  4. Coachflo-being a Cav fan let me say that I believe you got a whole lot out of your team this year. It just so happened the Tourney game we played you guys-your pitcher was up in the strike zone and our guys were seeing the ball well. Yet as in the other two games we played White Cty. your kids never gave up-they proved that in the 8 run comeback inning. I have no facts about the incident that started this thread-but I have watched Alcorn since Babe Ruth and he has missed inside many times-in fact it was the 7th inning against Oakland with two outs that he hit their batter-and he eventually scored the winning run. I have not seen any evidence all year of a call coming from the dugout to hit a batter-pitch inside yes-but never to hit anyone. I still believe Alcorn was way off that night and two pitches got away from him. Oh by the way-our batter was hit on the wrist in the same game and he was out for 5 games. So if there was any revenge-you got it!!!

    7-AAA Scores

I think the Cavs are more afraid of the loud mouth low class woman from Oakland who whins about every call, than they are any pitcher you put on the hill!

    7-AAA Scores

Oakland 3 Cookeville 1 Tough game played by both sides-Oakland dinked out the hits when they counted!!!!!
  8. I understand that being on a non winning team means nothing to his draft selection-but it means something to the other 22 players on the team. High School sports is about team- and Blackman is a perfect example this year that though one player is a standout-still without the help of a team-you may go high to the pros but you end up your senior year in High School on a losing team!!!!!!
  9. He is an unbelieveble talent, but how many games and championships has his high school team won?

    7-AAA Scores

Cookeville 17 White Cty 9 It was 7 -0 Cookeville after 2 innings and White Cty charged back with 8 runs in their 3rd-but Cookeville finished them off later in the game.
  11. Ridingpine-Ootelwah has been beaten by Cookeville and Cookeville just swept Oakland
  12. 123Dp-that is a good post-yes their announcer went to far-I appreciated his enthusiasm for his team-yet a little to much for High School baseball for my taste-but his mispronouncing names like "tyler, Rich, Derrick" was uncalled for. Now I am for heckling the umps and for cheering with everything you have for your team, but when a parent yells at another parent's son on the opposing team and calls them names-that is taking it to far. That type of behavior will cause more action in the stands than it will in the field. Parents can yell negatives at their kids all they want but don't let an opposing parent do it-or we will see action outside the field of play!!!!!
  13. hey 99-what is the Rockwood overall record?
  14. Oakland 2001-okay let's try this on for size-we went to every District 7-AAA opponent this year and Oaklands fans were the only ones that yelled at our players. That's kind of classless in baseball. Yelling for your own players is acceptable/ yelling at the umpires is acceptable-but grown people yelling at young men telling them- "you can't throw" you have nothing left, go home if that is the best you can do..... those things belong on the football field, not the baseball diamond. It ignited the Cavs because we thought we lived in the land of the rednecks-but we discovered their are rednecks in "the boro" as well!!!!!!
  15. Oakland 2001-okay, okay-I'll say it- Oakland and Riverdale doesn't have a chance: They don't have a chance of winning the MLB World Series, they don't have a chance of winning the Ididerod, they don't have a chance of winning American Idol, and they don't have a chance taking out Osma Bin Laden, but anything else Oakland and Riverdale does have a chance-especially in the 7-AAA District Tourney!!!! But the Cavs, White Cty, siegel, Blackman, and Warren Cty have a chance as well. I don't think Lebanon has a chance though!!!!!
  16. no way anyone will ever admit to intentionality- now the question that started this whole thread was did Alcorn hit the boy intentionally? Was it a curve ball that he threw that hit him? If it was it was unintentional-because he misses with it some times. Was it a fast ball that he threw that hit him? If it was it was unintentional because he misses with it some times. The only way I would believe Alcorn hit a batter intentionally is if he rolled it on the ground and hit him in the ankle-because I have never seen him do that before.
  17. To be honest I am excited but very nervous-everything starts all over again- Yes Oakland and Riverdale have to be the favorite because they know how to win- I still think Blackman has a chance to turn around a terrible season with a Riverdale upset.
  18. Gosh-it's hard to get a Riverdale guy to tip his hat to anyone-a pretty good job-come on- they were 14 and 25 last year-the whipping boy of the district-they had 4 coaches in 4 years- the team/booster club and administration was in confusion and disarray- and he in one year has turn the entire program around- he has done a fantastic job!!!!!!
  19. Coach of the year without a doubt is Cookeville's Brent Chaffin-Limbaugh I think you will have to agree!
  20. Slyder-good post-if the Football team turns things around I will change my name-but not until I see what happens after the fall. The name came from watching many years of dismal football.
  21. You'd never have a case-how could you ever prove it was intentional!!!!
  22. Limbaugh-check out my last post on the Cavalier thread!-Ha!
  23. Limbaugh-it's all your fault-if I read this thing correctly-the Cavs open the tourney with White Cty. And if they win (big if) they will probably play Oakland-because Oakland will probably beat their opponent. Okay-the White Cty boys have already defeated the Cavs-and kept us out of first place-so they know they can beat us-plus they are coming off two huge wins-and they are playing good! The Oakland boys will be gunning for sweet revenge and will bring everything they have to defeat the Cavs- if the Cavs do not bring their "A" game each night-it could be two and done for the boys who have had a wonderful turn around year. So as I review this scenario- I have come to the conclusion that Limbaugh is the baseball god-and he has set the Cavs up for a major fall because we defeated Riverdale. He has to be the baseball god because he is the only one that can figure all this stuff out!!!
  24. Limbaugh-I kinda doubt anyone will come over-sounds if our camp has conceeded 1st to Riverdale and let you boys go through the Blackman pitching first!!!! We are just excited to be off the bottom and to have swept the boys from Oakland!!!!
  25. huskerdog, I am willing to put everything I own, which by the way, is a 6 year old ford-a 1300 sq ft house, a $59 timex watch, and a appealing selection of jeans, t-shirts and two collared shirts on the bet that Coach Chaffinn will be rehired. Please understand my wife and 6 year old's stuff is not included in this wager!!!
